Great facility upon arrival, straight into lane park up & hand keys in and away you go 2 minutes to airport check in . However on return from our holiday a completely different service. Very early return to Newcastle 3pm as plane late. On arrival to our collect car there was a queue waiting to book cars in and a queque waiting to get keys . Only 2 harrased staff on the desk trying their best & it was a bit chaotic to say the least. Separate desks for dropping off & collection during busy times would be much better..

When arrived had to take a ticket but pre booked and paid for the parking therefore expected registration number recognition camera to activate entry gate. Was worried that I may have to pay a fee on return from my holiday when exiting. Although on entry there were signs to direct me to parking spaces that were available there were only afew in the area I was directed to…obviously I only needed one but I had to search for a parking space. Buses to the terminal from the car park were infrequent and we had to walk with cases to the terminal. On return this was the situation also and in the dark although the area is well lit. On exit I put the ticket in the machine and the barrier lifted and I did not have to pay..although I was anxious that I may have to.

Generally we’ve found the airport parking relatively easy in the past, however the price seems to have doubled in the last year, despite using discount codes. There was always a shuttle bus, but the information this time was vague, saying “no need for a bus’, but we did see one after hauling our cases for 10 minutes after parking. On return, there were signs pointing us to where the shuttle bus pick up was, only for us to get there and find signs pointing back the way we had come. No further evidence of a shuttle bus. I wouldn’t want to have to haul all our luggage all that distance (uphill) again, especially in bad weather. My partner has knee problems and asthma but we don’t qualify for disabled parking. We had pre booked and the automated barriers worked as they should, after years of having to go into the office when they wouldn’t.

Long queue on arrival and only one member of staff on desk. Return was fine.

The process of booking is simple and efficient and did not take too long. My main problem with the parking are the car parks themselves, the roads are terrible pot holes and gravel everywhere and this resulted in breaking one of my suitcase wheels. They need a smoother transition for those wising to walk to the terminal. My other issue was our car was scratched, no note left or anything like that, you really do park at your own risk here. If I lived closer I would leave my car at home but I don't.

Limited spaces available ....bays on the small side both length and width ....pedestrian routes to/from terminal poorly signed

Plenty of space and the "full" areas were well marked. However, the shuttle bus is still not running and the increased cost therefore does not seem justified

Parking charges are excessive. They should use dynamic pricing like airlines so the car parks are fully utilised rather than half empty due to exorbitant prices. £45 a week in long stay is a fair price but recently it’s been costing £60+ or more. The airport management should also take a drive up to Edinburgh to see how an airport should be run. Newcastle airport needs a deep clean and they should charge accordingly to the facilities they offer in their grossly overpriced and grubby hospitality outlets airside. Security is the only good point with friendly staff and an efficient system.

Very efficient and helpful staff going through security when departing. Absolutely awful border force organisation at passport control when returning. Long delays and chaos at automatic passport machines. Previous experiences at the airport have always been very pleasant. Meet and greet parking very efficient and understanding of delays due to passport control.

My actual experience would rate a 5 except for 1 thing that concerned me with the parking. We were 10 or 15 minutes late getting to the car and had to pay a few pounds to exit the car park. This was due to waiting gor our luggage. If our plane had been delayed for any time it seemed we would have had to pay the full charge for using the express car park which would have been astronomical. The actual airport experience I would rate highly although we did wat 45 minutes for the food we ordered so it was a good job our plane was delayed a couple of hours. Loved the spa and being in Newcastle means everyone was super friendly!!

We have always booked long stay and not had a problem in the past however because no bus services provided a do think there should be a free drop of with cases as it’s rather difficult trying to find a spot to park and having to juggle with cases in between cars which is quite time consuming I personally think elderly people will struggle with this so a quick solution would be a drop off area for bags then you can park up case free this was my experience on the last two visits.

Airport was fine with everything as you would expect. Very disappointed that there were no buses to take you from the long stay car park to the terminal. If I had been told beforehand I would have just booked a taxi to take us to and from the airport due to my wife's poor mobility.

Parking is quite pricey, but a major gripe is dropping off when you have, in particular, a disabled person. This is very expensive ( more than other airports) or when looking for free parking when drop off is required, very hard to find and not close to the terminal! Process of buying ticket was straight forward.

Despite prepaying in Short stay car park 1 on departure I was confronted with a bill for over £330 when I inserted my ticket . I made contact on the intercom system to clarify that I had already paid and the barrier was then raised .
