It has been TWO YEARS since a #criminal hit and run claim was made against an NFU insured person. Whilst NFU #insurance accepted liability, they have only offered to pay half of the cost of repairs for the damage this incident has caused to the building as they claim that the balcony could have had pre-existing problems. The damaged heritage building is in a conservation area, it is a Grade II Listed Building and was fully renovated only 5 years ago. We have contacted our own Insurance, who have tried to negotiate an out of court settlement, but NFU has refused even though the damage to the building`s balcony is a hazard to public and in the verge of collapsing after the delivery truck insured by NFU reversed into it, shook the entire building and run off. We had to secure this balcony at our own cost during the claim process. The repairs to heritage buildings are very complicated, involve conservation officers specific guidance and full structural surveyors report that NFU have refused to pay for even though this is a requirement by law!!! They have dragged this matter for TWO YEARS for us to give up! I am ashamed of having had recommended #NFU Mutual to my clients for 6 years as a Land Rover salesman! I really hope none of them had to experience what I have been going through for the past 2 years. This is a final warning to NFU that if this matter is not settled within the next two weeks, WE WILL take this matter to the #media and provide all necessary evidence!

Appalling company that in my experience uses every trick to not pay insurance and put up barriers to delay any claim or complaint. I wouldn't touch them

Nfumutual are a shambles of a company. We have had claims unsettled for 3 years. The legal expenses cover via DAS is non existent. The solicitors you have to engage with on das approved panel are shocking and will do everything possible to reject your claim or if the claim is accepted do nothing for months, lose documents, don't have secure document management and solicitor churn is very high so you have to keep repeating information . Loyalty means nothing to them and they have no morals or desire to settle claims in a timely manner leaving any consequential losses stacking up. The stress and anxiety their incompetency or deliberate unprofessionalism causes is beyond belief.

We found the whole experience regarding an easement in our deeds totally distressing . It appears a neighbour can have a key to your property . The deeds state right of way on foot for her only suddenly it’s open season every man and his dog . I present my case but they tell me based on probability I don’t have one . So roll over please and give in to your vindictive neighbour is the answer otherwise DAS will take you to court to recover £25,000 plus interest and expenses . Two years later the incompetence of this company is astounding . Will not recommend this company and sadly will be moving my insurance cover to a reputable broker . The bullying tactics are another story as is there complaints dept utter waste time . To note I have been insured for 15 yrs with no claims they are loosing a loyal customer great way to kill your business! So the question remains when is a front door not a front door ?

Refused to quote me because I live in a city. Said they only quote more rural locations. Not made clear on any advertising I've seen.

Spoke to a very nice gentleman a few days ago who arranged a telephone appointment with one of his colleagues, agreed the day and time. I made sure I was back home ready for the call with all the info needed for a house insurance quote……. I am still waiting for the call! Not a good start and a terrible first impression if this is how they treat customers and the standard of their customer service, think I will stay with my current insurer John Lewis. Thanks NFU.

Spent ages waiting to get connected, then went through the quote only to be told that they did not cover my post code in a major city!! They are running what I assume is a National TV advertising campaign, so what is the point as it does not state limited geographical coverage. So will not bother to contact them again for ANY quotes and shall inform friends not to bother.

They missold insurance, and covered it up for 3 years. They are being sued for breach of contract in an eye-watering class action. The senior executives deliberately bullied a disabled person to a dangerous degree. There are reports of bullying inside. The business is deplorable

DON'T BELIEVE THE ADVERTS! I have been dealing with this company for 6 months as a third-party customer because one of their drivers has hit into my vehicle. It has been a terrible experience they still have not settled the claim after admitting fault. I am now without a credit hire vehicle due to them and they are trying to blame me for delays. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY THEY WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE HELL. Never have I had an insurance company cause me this much stress, inconvenience and be a total pain.

I insured with the NFU as I believed they were leading in their field. After 7 years I brought an issue to them to which I was told I had no cover, whats worse is they claimed it was impossible cover to get - another firm offered me cover instantly. The agency admitted the had given me poor advice, however the claims department (after 8 months) refused to help at all. I feel entirely let down and would never insure with the NFU again.

Careful...underwriters need to agree b4 paying Spent over 20 mins going thru the details...given a quote and then when I tried to pay, was refused as their underwriters wouldn't accept the insurance. No details whether it was the car or the drivers. High end car with all 3 drivers over 50 and no claims/convictions/etc and over 15 years no claims discount. Date of experience: 07 March 2023

Left my car to go abroad for a few months in a lower crime area and on a drive. This increased my premium. Even staff could not explain it but obliged to follow the computer figure. Time to change. Not driving with NFU increases your premiums I found.

I have two vehicles insured with them. I replaced one of those vehicles with a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) on the 12th September as my daughter requirements have changed to needing to travel in a wheelchair. Spent over an 1 hour and a half on the telephone being passed from pillar to post, Eventually promised a call "first thing the following morning". No Phone call. Eventually received an e mail late afternoon on the 13/09/2022 to say they had been unable to contact me. Transpires when I call them that they had written the phone number down incorrectly. If they had looked at out car insurance policy then our contact details are on those documents. They were going to ring first thing this morning (14/09/2022) and as I type this at 10:15 I have not received a call. I have a £ 50,000:00 vehicle currently uninsured due to their incompetence and inept way of dealing with their customers due to their own in house but ultimately lack of thought, planning or training of their staff in how they alter or change vehicles on the policy. I further suspect I am still paying for a vehicle that they know I have sold. The manager was made aware on the 12th of my dissatisfaction and concerns over the lack of insurance cover for my WAV but have not heard from him or her either. Currently stressed out waiting on NFU Mutual. Due to the necessity of my daughter needing a wheelchair vehicle we are currently prisoners in our own home and my daughter is missing her second day at the "Day Center" due to NFU Mutual staff and their continued incompetence.

Devastated by DAS absolute bad company who will come up with every excuse to not help. We took on solicitors to help us with our land issues, charged us nearly £8000 to send applications to land Registry, highways and cease and desist letters to the opposition. They did nothing. We went to the Legal ombudsman and they upheld our case against them and they said that because not legally binding we could still take them to court because we only got back £800 out of nearly £8000, it no where near compensated and we have been left in a terrible situation by these solicitors. We have NFU mutual who released the money but DAS are just as bad as these solicitors because they said that we do not have a case, for professional negligence and dismissed us. Again back in the same position. One word to summarise CORRUPTION!!!!

II had the worst experience with the NFU insurance, My policy states very clearly legal expensenses covered, they did everything possible to not pay with very weak excuses Could have be proven if they had gone to professionals who would have agreed with my claim. Their legal underwriter is DAS see their reviews should be struck off. DO NOT USE. We have been with them for 15years and will be not renewing our policy .Mr and Mrs p
