Octopus entered claiming high standards. They are worse than all the other bandits put together. After 3 months complaining about bills that are obviously wrong I resorted to Twitter to get a response. But they now can't understand basic English or hold a sensible exchange of information.

Had to wait on hold for 30 minutes listening to awful music on hold - why put a stupid track like that on loop? Another energy company promising the world and cant deliver the basics.

THE WORST ORGANISATION EVER. I have requested a full investigation into why my electricy is being charged at £70 a week and crickets. I am being to told to perform a creep test repeatedly and despite already doing this! They refuse to send an engineer. I'm completely stressed out. Something is wrong with my metre and it needs to be investigated. If this company doesn't resolve this, I will be taking action as I've had enough of them.

I had ongoing issues with this company about missing electricity charges on smart meter and my account. Sending ongoing emails months without the issue been rectified. Then I have been charged huge amounts and when I changed company and pay final bill. They charged me for an amount for a period which was already paid. Never again this company tries to steal you

SCAM COMPANY! Octopus energy started by charging £157 a month from Oct '23 which went up after being with them for 4 months. On month 5 the bills doubled to £298. I have been submitting regular meter readings. Their prices are no longer affordable to my household so I switched back to E.ON-Next. However, Octopus is saying that I now have an outstanding balance of £800. An amount which is estimated between the last charge on Feb '24 and the beginning of April which means that 1 month of billing is £800!

We are suffering with that much stress and anxiety it's untrue. Billing is not correct and previous payments made to Sheel energy before the take over seem to have gone missing . I have asked several times for the UK call centre numbers and have been given fictitious numbers. £600 charge for one months electricity for a two bedroomed property is unbelievable. No one seems to want to help , literally don't know what to do next.

Beware of this company. The people who you first speak to are very nice and friendly but as soon as you have a problem everyone disappears and you are effectively blanked. You get in touch with the complaints department who do not come back to you. You look to arrange an engineer and are told oh someone may call you within 6 weeks. I have had a number of issues where i am told it was a mistake. Question is how many mistakes can occur before you think it is just an economy with the truth? Be very wary.

I needed assistance in setting up an overseas account in London. This was complicated, and Melissa enthusiastically was able to do so. She was persistent in completing this task, even though it took considerable effort working with the London office. She provided the best customer service one could ask for.

These people do NOT have enough education to be professional in their jobs. The majority of them sound like they have only just left school. They also take the p.ss with the wheel they put on the app which you can spin every month to try and win credit. It's all a SCAM. Nobody wins anything. After being with this poor company less than a year I've finally switched to british gas. A company that's been around for many years, and who are professional at doing their jobs

Shocking! 2 complaints, both had to be taken through to Ombudsman, and I only joined Octopus in August 2023! One complaint awarded a resolution and compensation, one still ongoing. The one awarded compensation, Octopus now lie blatantly to the Ombudsman saying they've implemented it, even providing falsified evidence to attempt to show they have....... clearly forgetting they can't falsify what is shown on my IHD or online account. Well dome Octopus, seems like youre upsetting many across the board in one go here

Since subscribing to OctopusEnergy Eleven months ago, I have had continued problems. Their ‘Customer Services’ Stag are totally incompetent, they do not respond to my emails. Octopus Energy are unable to read my Gas meter readings despite numerous on site visits to my home. Greg, the owner of Octopus, has not had the courtesy of responding to any of my emails. This company has outgrown itself and cannot cope with customer complaints. Avoid this energy supplier at all costs.!!!!!!!!

They've pushed my direct debit by 90% more even thought it's unwarranted. I refuse to continue with them once my fix rate contract is up!

Like all other reviews, I have lost the will to live after multiple calls and mails related to 4 months of trying to get a simple reading from with smart meters digitalised. I’ve had promise after promise. I’ve sat in for whole days while engineers said they’d resolved the transmission issues, I’ve been told they’ve reset and synchronised the system. I genuinely think that I now know more about energy meters than 90% of the incompetent employees in this company. All funny until I received a bill to the value of 12 months use of gas which took my credit into a massive negative and then was threatened about an astronomical increase in my direct debit. Thankfully I was able to inform incompetent octopus about where they’d forgotten to update the serial number of my meter. Shambolic service. I don’t know who is responsible for the customer’s satisfaction, but I’m guessing that they’ve left the company looking at the consistency of this shambolic businesses 1 star reviews.

I was excited to set up my energy service with Octopus energy, but they took 20 minutes to run a credit check.only to come back and tell me they didn't run it because they couldn't find the address in their system. I repeated the same address and 2 minutes later they came back and said they found my address, but my credit report came back lower than 600. I pay for a monthly service that reports the top three credit services and my credit score is well above 600. They were going to charge me a $300 deposit for no reason. Totally incompetent and would not trust them with my money.

Very poor customer service. I too don't want to hear ads about their good customer service! They do not reply to emails and i am waiting to hear from a manager. They managed to take 2 direct debits from one instruction this month I don't know how and it was for alot of money. the bank did refund one quickly but then Octopus told me the bank had cancelled the direct debit when they had not and the Octopus system then showed it as cancelled but not my bank system. Disgraceful service - I am a pensioner and I have always paid on time.

'Octopus' gives the impression that its customer services department is set-up to be as feeble and incompetent as humanly possible. There seems to be no management, no supervision, no established processes and no effort whatsoever to make improvements. Steer well clear of this dreadful company and do not be fooled by its colourful app.
