I like the course a lot, however it’s a little intimidating that’s it’s labeled for beginners (genius chord warmup) because I’m not a beginner, but I’ve been struggling a lot with this warmup (still haven’t got past the introduction). There a lot of info right from the start that isn’t explained like “drop 2”? I think having a recommended starting point or prerequisite courses may help.

I joined and left twice, those were on a monthly subscription and finally, I signed up for the annual membership. Initially, I found the courses a bit dry as I still like to play songs. After playing for a while I noticed I needed to build my basics on chords and scale which I think is essential in Jazz piano and Open Studio has strong training in this area.

Newbie - only there for a week, but working with Adam Maness makes me aware why my first 6 months starting w jazz after a lifetime of classical piano has been chaotic - I didn't start with the basics! Adam does a phenomenal job of making practicing/learning "the basic chords/scale/harmonies" interesting, engaging, and productive. Looking forward now to Jeremy Siskind's new class. THANKS!

Love you guys, amazing content whether payed for or free. I’d love to have more content of specialized courses like the warmups rather than subscriptions. I’m a classical pianist/teacher/hobby bassplayer who tries to jazz. I don’t have a continuous workflow, im more like targeting my interests and have fun. I am always recommending my students to check your YouTube channel and search for stuff they like. As for something I’d be really happy to see is a course that targets classical players who have the mechanics/technique but developed in another direction. I am teaching in Switzerland, and we have to do additional courses every year to improve our skills. The school pays for it, so I think many teachers would be interested if advertised properly. I don’t know how this translates into paperwork, but if I would have access to open studio pro (even if just a limited amount of live sessions) through the school system it would be a dream came true I’m not working yet full time so the price throws me off a bit even though I find it fairly priced

Okay, so as a musician, I am very happy. Found you guys after listening to your podcast on YouTube. I initially only wanted to do some structured jazz guitar (I just finished JustinGuitar's website, and he basically ends where jazz begins), but I think I might learn to properly play my synth like a piano as well, given that the piano course and roadmap look really solid. Probably the most valuable function of paid online courses is presenting a whole skill roadmap, as opposed to disjointed YouTube tutorials. I am also very glad to see the amount of online community-building you guys are doing. As a self-taught musician who doesn't go out much and lives god-knows-where, it's nice to have an option to come and chat - although I'm yet to use it! As an IT analyst, however, I must say: the video interface is in serious need of revamping. It looks like it was iteratively built by 3 different people, and ended up being very functional, but completely disjointed. In the attached screenshot I highlighted all the different interface spaces where controls are found - there are a total of 7, not counting the play button, which makes looking for the specific function you need at the moment highly frustrating and unintuitive, because it could be in any of them. Also, the icon for the button that turns on the notation doesn't make any sense - I spent a few minutes trying to find it on several occasions. The exact same icon is used for fullscreen... Ideally the most used buttons should be in one space, probably in a line at the bottom of the video + one expandable list for all other icons. Given that you have live notation, a piano roll, a guitar fret, AND a loopable waveform, AND subtitles, it's crucial to present all those elements in a logical way. Anyway, my interface nagging aside, I'm pretty happy with the video and course quality so far, and will continue practicing until I suck less! So that's great. Thank you! -A.

I’ve been playing full time for over 55 years with many great musicians. I find Open Studio a great source of inspiration and knowledge. Adam and Peter’s love of music is contagious and the roster of other artists is top shelf. They are incredibly generous with their free posts and low subscription fees. Don’t hesitate to join.

I find the guided practice to be very helpful, I am learning what and how to practice. Where as before I would have to guess at so many things. Thank you Open Studio.

Overall I am very happy with the course and all the content you guys share on the social media. The approach is really dynamic, motivating and entertaining at the same time. I have always studied remotely and I have tried all different sources and paid courses and the Open Studio has definitely made a difference in my learning curve. The only reason why I still don't pay the monthly subscription is because I am following the steps of the course meticulously and I want to make sure I am learning everything properly, so it doesn't make any difference at this point if I have access to all the content because I will still be focused on one subject at a time, so I prefer to buy separate courses and do them from start to finish. I am almost 47 and as I approach my retirement my plan is to dedicate more and more time at the piano for the next 20+ yrs and you guys are making my journey a lot more enjoyable. Keep up the great work. Special thanks to Adam Maness and Peter Martin, these guys are out of this world, such great and inspairing musicians. Love from Brazil

I first had a problem with the handling of the online platform. However, Openstudio immediately responded to my comment and the problem was resolved. I think Openstudio's inputs are great and very practical. For me as a musician without complete training, the videos of Peter and Adam are a great enrichment. Thank you very much for this, keep up the good work.

I'm impressed about both the quality of Open Study courses, I'm just testing out "Chord warmups" with Adam Maness at a very favourable price. The explanations & comments are insightful, and it's also very helpful to have the full pdf transcription as download. Big thanks to the teams, for me everything works fine and smooth, and I appreciate the support to move beyond one's own musical comfort zone.

Hello I really like your videos about jazz piano, they are super educational! Now I spontaneously responded to an advertisement from you and bought a product. Meant I bought a pdf with warm-up exercises, for 17 dollars instead of 77. But I only got access to the platform where everything is encrypted. So what did I really buy? Can someone explain this to me? Thank you and kind regards, Stefan Joss (steff.joss@gmx.ch) _______ Update: I first had a problem with the handling of the online platform. After some searching to find the right level of lessons for me (piano, playing in several bands) to fill in my gaps, I'm very pleased with the excellent teaching tone of voice and the possibilities of the site.

There is no one-way ticket to the music journey. ForTuneately. I asked to join, I got a key and just entered. The impossible staircase led me in. I hope never to get off this train. For me, the Open Studio is like a traveling space with never-ending rooms, where everyone can find a way to enjoy, learn, discover, and have a while to be a part of the game-play.
