“I am a member of Open Studio Pro, which also gives me access to Open Studio's content. The entire platform is super-welcoming, and calibrated to meet you where you are. Some content is free, other content you can pay for just as you need it, and other membership levels give you broader access. The content is structured both to improve overall musicians in jazz and also to help you focus on the challenges of particular instruments. So, on the content/platform questions, OS provides a ton of great content of just the type you need, when you need it. But the truly unique characteristic of the platform is the combination of the super-friendly and gifted instructors and the community. Making music is not an acquisition of data, it's an internalization of language and culture. The culture of OS is second to none. If you want to work with and be supported by musicians actually doing music with you and for you, I couldn't recommend OS more highly. It's setting the standard.”

“I signed up for the Bass Pro offering because you get excellent tutoring from Bob DeBoo as well as courses by some of the greats. Ron Carter and Christian McBride to name two. The learning interface is simple to use and there is really good content for all levels of bassist!”

“Open Studio is the best music and jazz educational program that I have found on the internet for an incredibly affordable fee. It has helped me improve my performance skills immensely. I highly recommend it to people of all ages, skill levels and nationalities. It would cost you thousands of dollars to get the same amount of information anywhere else.”

“I’ve been using OS for a couple of years now. The course material is excellent; clear and immediately useful, and the presentation and tutors are motivating. It’s definitely player a key role in my development as a musician. The main benefit for me, as an adult learner, has been learning how to practice effectively and understand what progress looks like. “Open Studio is a wonderful community of engaging and supportive teachers/performers and like-minded students, all intent on improving our Jazz skills and appreciation of this wonderful art form. All are welcome, with egos checked at the door. The live classes, online content, and performance opportunities (not to mention master classes with some of the top names in Jazz today) are incredible. OS has had a huge, positive impact on my musical journey. I can't recommend it enough.”

“This is a fantastic resource. Something you can immerse yourself in when you have time, or dip into when you’re busy. The advice, from heavy duty jazz NAMES is second to none, and the mutual sort of the OS community is a joy. That’s without mentioning the listening sessions and podcasts! So many riches for a very reasonable subscription Big up especially to Bob De Boo, who is the very definition of someone who wears his learning lightly. A great musician and a great teacher”
