Opodo charged me 99 CHF for a “Prime membership” I never consented to. This is an unauthorized debit, and despite my immediate requests for reversal, they have refused to respond. This is not just bad service — it’s borderline fraud. Sneaking charges onto a customer’s account without consent, then ignoring all attempts to rectify the situation, is predatory and illegal. I am prepared to escalate this to consumer protection authorities, my bank, and legal channels. Avoid Opodo if you value your money, your time, and your peace of mind.

Booked with them. Dont tell you that they pend transaction for 24hrs. While all flights get sold out via carrier that could have been bought directly. They take money immediately. Fail to resolve any issues. Avoid at all costs.

I booked a flight with Opodo for the first time and after 2 weeks they charged me extra 150€ for a subscription I didn’t Approve - Click - or Tick for permission. Basically they will save your bank account information without your approval and then charge you later without any notification or permission. I called and asked for a refund they told me I’m already too late and the refund can’t be made. Their website doesn’t offer any special discounts as they promote themselves. People can book cheaper flights from SkyScanner which is for free also hotels from Booking with lower prices than Opodo, so basically this is a total SCAM and CYBER THEFT. Be careful not to trick yourself for 10€ cheaper tickets from Opodo because you will pay more later!!

Opodo is a complete scam. I booked a ticket through them and when problems came up, I called their customer service for help. Every single agent I spoke with just kept repeating the same scripted answers again and again, without actually solving anything. It was like talking to a wall. They make it impossible to get real support, and I feel completely cheated. Be very careful if you’re thinking about booking a ticket through them save yourself the stress and frustration and use a more trustworthy company.

I bought a ticket with carry-on luggage included in the tariff from Opodo. However, the airline informed me that no carry-on luggage is permitted. I contacted Opodo for support and was told that it’s not their responsibility to know the airline’s luggage rules. This is unacceptable—if the ticket clearly states that carry-on luggage is included, as the intermediary you must ensure your offer matches the airline’s policies. You sold me this service, so you are responsible. This response is completely unprofessional. I truly regret buying my ticket through Opodo instead of directly from the airline. It feels like a scam, and it’s a shame that such a company is allowed to operate.

I’m sharing this to warn others about my awful experience with Opodo, which left me stranded abroad, out of pocket, and completely ignored after following their own agent’s instructions. I booked a return trip to London from Casablanca via Spain (14 August 2025). My first flight was delayed nearly two hours, and I missed my connection in Spain. Vueling (the airline) refused to help, saying it was Opodo’s responsibility. I was stuck at the airport with no support. I called Opodo’s customer service urgently and spoke with an agent. I found a same-day EasyJet flight back to London for €191 and asked if I could book it. After checking with his manager, the agent explicitly told me to go ahead and that I’d be fully refunded once I submitted the invoice. I trusted them — big mistake. Weeks later, they told me I would only be refunded £99, far less than I spent. I asked them to review the call recording where their agent clearly approved the full reimbursement — they ignored that completely. No follow-up, no explanation, no accountability. To make it worse, I also had to take an expensive Uber home after missing my pre-booked transport, arriving at 2 AM before work the next morning. Opodo made no effort to compensate or even apologize. Bottom line: ✅ They make promises and don’t honor them. ❌ They ignore their own agent’s instructions. ❌ They treat the customer like the problem. ❌ Support is non-existent once things go wrong. This feels like a scam dressed up as a travel agency. They protect their staff first, not their paying customers. I’m a Prime customer, but clearly that means nothing to them. I’ve now submitted a formal complaint and will escalate this legally if necessary. Do yourself a favor: AVOID OPODO. Book direct with airlines. Don’t trust them with your money or your travel.

Scammers - I never wanted a "prime membership" Any company that needs to hide an annual subscription in the fine print is NOT worth doing business with. In 2024 I booked a ticket, and unknowingly signed up for their "prime membership' which was charged to my card. I never saw this debit, but upon receiving ANOTHER debit in 2025, I saw a pattern. This pathetic company refused to return my money for my 2025 charge, and stated that I was uneligible because I didn't see the charge in time ( ie, 14 days in the EU per law ) -- They never responded through the online complaint form, NOT my email, but Viola! they sure did see my complaint from my Trust Pilot complaint! That shows you they really don't care and just try to do damage control rather than solving the problem.

Avoid Opodo | Report through bank to get a refund I signed up for the free trial to save a few euros on a hostel planning to cancel the membership right after. I also ticked "disable auto-renewal", so they shouldn't be able to charge me. However, when I went to cancel the trial, the only option was to start a free trial, so it seemed like it was cancelled already. At the end of the trial, I was charged the annual subscription fee, tried calling several of their "free prime hotlines", which all charged me because I was calling from outside the UK and hung up about a minute in. Their terms and conditions say you have a right to withdraw and get a refund minus any discounts you took advantage of and to send a pre-written statement to "an email address you can find in the prime section on their website". The whole help centre goes in loops and there's no email address, but somehow I found 3 different ones in different corners of the internet. I emailed them all and the only automatic response I got asked me to fill out a contact form on the eDreams website (sister company), which however didn't recognise my booking number because it's a different company and without one they just direct you to the generic help centre. I then got the chatbot to connect me to a real person who said they don't work in the refunds department and the only way to reach them is to call, which I had tried previously and failed. I would only get back to the UK more than 2 weeks after I had been charged and couldn't figure out how long the withdrawal period is. When I read all the negative reviews, I said goodbye to my £100, but as a last resort, I reported the transaction as fraud in Revolut and 2 hours later I had the money back in my account. If you want the free trial, use a single use virtual card to pay and if you lose any money, report them through your bank.

⚠️ Avoid Opodo – Total Scam ⚠️ I was scammed out of £89.99 after Opodo renewed my subscription without informing me, even though I had already cancelled it. They kept my bank details and charged me anyway. When I reached out, there was no proper support or resolution. This is unacceptable and feels like a deliberate way of trapping customers into paying for something they don’t want. Please avoid this company — they are not transparent and will take your money without consent.

Avoid OPODO – deceptive and unethical company. I booked a flight through Skyscanner and was unknowingly signed up for an “Opodo Prime” trial. A year later, without any clear warning or my consent, they automatically charged me €89.99. I never wanted this subscription, never used it, and immediately requested a refund. Their customer service refused multiple times, hiding behind unfair “terms and conditions.” This is not just poor service – it’s a deliberate trick to make money from unsuspecting customers. I am now escalating my case through the European Consumer Centre. Please save yourself the frustration – do NOT trust Opodo.
