“I always wore glasses for driving and watching the tv. I had to wear contacts for football. My big problem was if I was out socialising or just out an about in generla without wearing my contacts or glasses, people would wave at me to say hello and it was embarassing when I didnt respond or know who it was. The day after my surgery was like a new beginning - it might sound funny but I'll always remember looking at the wall paper in my hallway from my bed and all of a sudden I could see every fine detail. I opened the window and looked at the mountain, I could see people on top of the mountain!! You gotta do this, life is too short.”

“I am terrified of anyone coming any where near my eyes. I can't even stand someone doing my make-up, so I was really nervous when I finally decided to have laser eye surgery done. After going through it, I would recommend it to everyone. It has changed my life for the better - I now have sniper vision - I am 007a!! hahaha. :-D I can make out which are taxi's instead of random cars on a night out, which is always a plus! Seriously though, the procedure isn't painful, just a little uncomfortable but it's over in seconds. Have it done now.... you won't look back! :-D Well worth the money and the Optical Express Staff are brill!!! Good luck...”

“I have heard so many stories/ peoples' account of how briliant it is, but never thought it was this easy. The procedure is a little uncomfortable, but it's a lifetime of not wearing lenses/glasses for me- this is priceless! The staff at Optical Express are professional and very helpful. If you are thinking about it- JUST DO IT!”

“Now that I can literally see the difference I wish I had taken the step earlier. Riding my motorcycle without varifocals and steamed up glasses is a major bonus.It has made a huge difference to my life. “I had the surgery as a 60th birthday present to myself. Having been very short sighted since my teens it is a revelation to be able to see properly again. Having to wear reading glasses for close up work has been a small price to pay.”

“I was amazed after having my treatment, how quickly my vision had iproved. The staff were so good and helpfull, and they explained to me step by step of what would happen. My after care treatment has been second to none. I have to say the care and attention has been excellent, from everyone at optical express. My only regret is why i didnt do this when i turned eighteen. Now everyone i meet asks how i got on i say you should go for it its a great job.”

“Having laser surgery has made my daily life so much easier - I no longer have to keep track of whether I have spare lenses with me wherever I go. Although I am still trying to get used to not reaching for my glasses as soon as I wake up! The process of consultations and procedure were so quick and easy, I would recommend it to anyone.”

“make sure you get a surgeon who not only has good statistics (don't be shy to ask for this information) but who you feel personally comfortable with. this will make the surgery itself far less stressful - at least it did in my experience. i had LASIK, the most accurate and most expensive one. the surgery itself was pretty weird but the surgeon - Manick Patel, who I would totally recommend- and nurses helped by talking me through it, including counting down to the end of certain stages of the procedure. it really helped to know how long was left. after the surgery i felt very faint and shaky - lots of hot sweet tea helped. make sure you eat properly before your surgery! even if you are nervous- it will stand you in good stead afterwards. after the anaesthetic wore off, i was in quite strong discomfort - not pain exactly, but discomfort, too much to sleep really -for 4-6 hours - then it was gone. you will need someone there to look after you, for sure. i felt pretty fragile for the first few weeks of recovery, especially in crowded tubes etc, but my vision was pretty good straight away. my right eye is slightly less than perfect, but may improve with healing. I am def. glad i have done it, even at £3.5k.”
