About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

Two weeks ago I was told my order would arrive in 'the next few days'. It was not listed as a backorder on the website, so I (incorrectly) assumed that it was in stock. A week later on inquiring where the order was as I hadn't received it, I was once again told it would be here in 'a few days'. Another week has passed and still nothing. That's 21 days now since placing the order and I have nothing. I'm going camping this weekend without the item, which I bought specifically for this trip. I live about 30km from the store, so the delivery should have taken only a day or two. This was my first and LAST experience with Outback Equipment. I'll NEVER BUY from them again. Worst service I've experienced from a 4x4 seller in 30 years of purchasing equipment.

Ordered parts and new they would take a while but every time I call to get an update no answer using the business number still waiting on parts that I hav not received

Terrible service had items in stock but didn't send them out for 3 weeks, only sent them after 4 phone calls I will not be using them again

Rang to confirm stock availability before placing the order. Was told everything I needed was in stock. 8 days later and the items still haven't been dispatched so I phone to find the items were not in stock at Outback Equipment or their supplier and there was no ETA. I cancelled my order and finally got a refund about 2 weeks later after lodging a complaint with Office of Fair Trading

I purchased a $35 1/2" 1 way valve to use in a crankcase breather on a motorcycle engine. It needs to freeflow 1 way... This valve does not & is completely useless to me. I've sent several emails about this but it's clear nobody cares. Thanks for your money now get lost.... not our problem....

Ordered a pair of hatch fasteners, after five weeks received only one. Tried to explain to rectify, but their not answering phone.

Having rang this company 9 times throughout one day without an answer, I tried again the next day and got through after 3 more calls. I bought a tow bar from them, but when attempting to fit it is was the wrong towbar according to the installer. I again after many calls gave up and drove 40 minutes to the company to get a refund which I was refused. After a further 2 hours and photos sent by the installer they agreed to refund. It then took 6 days for this to appear in my account. Never ever ever will I deal with this terrible company again where customer service doesn’t exist. I mean they don’t even answer their phone it just goes to a recorded message about how busy they are. Try ringing them. You’ll see. Pathetic.

Ordered a 5-draw storage locker and it came out without its lid. Contacted the company to let them know what has occurred and I was told that they would call back. This was 4 days ago... Still waiting on the call!

You are advised the item is out of stock after you purchase it. I tried calling to cancel the order but the call is rejected and told to email. I email and surprise surprise no return message.

Ordered a safari snorkel had to wait approximately six weeks, finally received a email telling me ready for pickup only to find out it was given to someone else. Pretty poor service but staff were very good at making excuses, did get a refund Have purchased a snorkel from another company

Site says 1-3days. Expect 5-7days, plus postage is slow as hell. Shipped 28/4 and still hasn’t arrived. Don’t advertise specials if you can’t even keep up with normal everyday orders. Paid express for my last shipment so it would arrive when the delayed shipment finally arrives…. $$

Guys unfortunately I don’t have much nice to say so will keep it civil. But from the word go horrible experience, no communication on the product not being in stock. No communication to sort out a replacement or a different product. No communication about my refund. So I’m thinking you can see the pattern that you guys really need to communicate with your customers as that’s the key to everything. Cheers Richard And yes I would never deal with ya again and yes I have spread the word far and wide for that reason.
