“I was with ovo and my experiences were it was so bad i moved to octupus but my son i still with them. When i get my bill takes me just a couple minutes to check the bill is correct and pay it -when he gets his i spend at least 45 minutes trying to work out if its correct and how much he actually owes”
“We have been with OVO for over a year now. Since then we have generated power through our solar panels. OVO now owe us £1700. We've submitted the same set of forms multiple times, met their every excuse to not pay us but still nothing! Customer service team have slopey shoulders and pass the buck to everyone just to meet their target and close the case. The FIT team seem to mainly lie and not actually do anything. Come on OVO, you even paid someone else our money!!!

“Since moving to worthless OVO Energy from SSE, by force. For a month now I have been struggling to stop up gas by crapping smart meter. Due to meter failure, they have put a new meter. But I still can’t top up. I have rang them so many times.I’m just getting repeats of same answers with lies. “ just wait for 24 or 48 hours, but still nothing”
“Forced to move to them after they took over SSE who I had been with for years with no problems. Transferred a credit balance over and within weeks it was wiped out and told I was due them over £3,000. They seem to pluck meter readings out of thin air which are totally wrong then you are forced into weeks of dispute to try and get it resolved. Totally stressed trying to deal with them.”

“It it impossible to understand OVO Energy’s incredibly high bills. They make no sense and they add on extra charges without explanation. Is this even legal? The worst big company I have ever dealt with. I would pay someone to independently go through my bills and calculate the correct amounts. In the 15 months I was with them I think, in total, we have been overcharged several thousand pounds. Their call centres are hopeless and I found the wording of the bills we received intimidating. Nothing positive to say about my dealings with OVO.”

I have been trying to deal with and resolve an issue Ovo Energy for 6 months.
They initially sent me an estimated bill for over £1,000. I tried to resolve the issue and sent them photos of the readings. They did nothing and started to call and text me threatening me with debt collection agents and to damage my credit.
I lodged a complaint and had an auto-response saying they would respond in up to 5 days. 10 weeks later, I still have not had a response but they continue to harass me.
I’ve made 5 complaints but still had no response apart from threatening ones. They will not send me a copy of their complaints procedure or service standards, and without doubt, have failed to stick to them.
I’m at my wit's end, I was off work with mental health problems last year and have explained this but they continue to bully and harass me.
I’m at the point of wanting to report them to the police and have begged them to take me to court just so that I can resolve this rather than continuing to text and call me just to make threats.
I’m sure I can’t be alone, their behavior towards customers is disgusting.”

Having such a hard time getting my final bill sorted, the house was unoccupied for a short period in between tennants, I called to pay the bill, set up an account and submitted the readings, based on the standing charge and the unit rates my final bill should be £47.02 quite simple to calculate but they keep demanding hundreds of pounds every time I call to resolve they tell me a different amount the total on my letters is different from the amount they tell me on the phone at one point they wanted over £600 I have spent probably around 6 hrs on the phone to them over around 7 or 8 phone calls and I’m still no closer, I raised complaints which they have told me have been wiped off the system as the complaint is resolved when it is clearly not. I think they are preying on people to get so fed up they just pay the amount they want. They have actually now got a debt collector to chase me for the money which I am now worried will effect my credit rating. I have read lots of bad reviews on other platforms and I’m not sure how this company is still aloud to keep trading.”
“I would urge no-one to use OVO Energy. I would have rated them less than 1 but the system wouldn’t let me. They are frauds - they have overcharged my mother -in-law, a vulnerable 86 year old, whose account with SSE, had a credit balance of over £1000 to £5000 in debit when she was automatically transferred to OVO. Her KWh used have trebled whilst she has been with OVO, they have vastly overestimated her gas bills and charged her for two meters when she got a new meter in Feb. They doubled her direct debit to £321 per month. We complained at the beginning of July and have had no phone calls from them, despite being told we would be contacted, our first complaint was demoted to a “billing issue” and we still do not have a resolution. They don’t care. They must be making millions on the interest from customers overpayments. Don’t use them.”

“We have been with Ovo for about 6 months after being with SSE. we were paying average 180 a month. then we got hit with a 1600 bill on top of our payments so it's cost over 3k for gas and electric for 6 months usage which is shocking. Customer service is no help they just flop you of and they don't even sent you your monthly statements we have asked 6 times we are still waiting. any advice is appreciated with this shocking company needs reporting to training standards Do Not Use This Company Con merchant!”
