“Very grateful for Pets Best. Our 5 yr old Great Dane recently displayed issues with walking, after emergency visit with a neurologist an MRI was recommended. Because of the coverage through Pets Best the vets could see he herniated C6 and C7 and we could treat our sweet Bruce. Thank you! 🙏”

“It was very easy to submit a claim online after a sudden and severe illness our dog suffered with. We have not had to submit claims previously but we are happy we kept the insurance for unexpected circumstances like we had. We r3ceived feedback quickly and reimbursement was prompt.”

“Just started with this company in July Sent in a claim and it was not processed due to my vet not sending the SOAP NOTES in. So without notice they closed my claim. I called my vet and they sent me the notes in which I submitted. They asked for a 12 month period, Sat 2025 to Sept 2026. I sent the 3 visits my dog had. Which was Dec 2025 for a physical, July 2026 sick, and the claim for Sept 2026 sick. However they wanted more notes for that year. How can I send more notes when my dog was seen only 3 times in a year. They said because of her age, she's 8, its unlikely she was only seen 3 times. What???!! Who are you to tell me I have an unhealthy dog. So I had my vet write a letter. Still not sufficient, they asked for a previous note back in March for a visit she had, didn't fall under the 12 month category they initially asked for. Of course I laughed, oh it's an insurance company why should they bother to help reimburse me when I pay them a monthly premium. Not happy with their processs. Extremely upset that they assumed my dog was not healthy because of her age and only seen 3 times in 1 year.”

“They won't cover exam fees (call it whatever you want...exam, check-up, consultation, physical, physical consultation, health inspection, office visit, office call, after-hour fee, referral, recheck, etc. The list goes on...). These generally start at $150 at most vets and go up, so immediately you're not getting that back. Our dog was examined twice over several days while ill and the fee was $210. $420 not covered. Additionally, they don't cover take home meds. When my dog was discharged, he needed over $150 in meds for his illness. Boom... another $150 not covered. Let's not forget the deductible... we were at $500. Thankfully we had an issue earlier in the year so we "only" needed to cover another $350 before coverage kicked in. So... after all was said and done, we spent $4100 in vet bills and insurance covered about 60%. I get it. I bought the policy. I signed the contract. That said, use me as an example of what you're getting. You will be nickel and dimed at every part of the vet bill so they have to pay the least amount of money possible and that's on top of not hesitating to increase the rates year after year after year. In conclusion, I'm glad I didn't have to pay $4100 out of pocket. But the reality is, pet insurance, and specifically pets best, is not the god send that you likely think it is.”

“You never answer your phone calls. Some issues regarding claims need to be explained directly over the phone. When no one answers, we have no way to explain the situation or resolve the claims, and we are unable to get our money refunded. This is extremely frustrating, and we honestly don’t know what else we’re supposed to do. We need someone to respond and help us resolve these issues.”
