“I am generally very happy with my decision to purchase Pets Best for my dog. Aside from the issues in the fall of 2025 with being unable to access the Pets Best website to submit a claim, things usually run smoothly and response time and reimbursement time is good. I would also note that on occasion I am told that a test or visit is not covered due to it being a pre-existing condition, even though I have explained in my invoice submission why it is a covered test or visit. I then have to submit an appeal which takes up more of my time and I find it frustrating because I feel that no one took the time to read my comments.”

“The PetsBest app was easy to navigate to submit a claim and they quickly reimbursed me within less than a week for my dogs Simparica Trio chew medicine. My only complaint was the bill/invoice was for $165 and I was only reimbursed $115. Silly me didn’t realize I had a $50 deductible. But that’s on me.”

“Pets Best is usually good but my last claim which was a Wellness dental cleaning claim for which I have a Wellness package (which covers $150 towards a yearly dental cleaning) added to my regular insurance was denied.. reason given was periodontal disease is not covered!! It wasn’t treatment for periodontal, it was a yearly cleaning. I had to fill out an Appeal, provide ALL previous vet records and time wasted waiting for the appeal process which never should have been… The claim was finally approved and insurance did pay me the $150 but they try to get out of paying what should have been a simple straight forward claim. Watch your claims and fight for your rights.”

“BLUF: I will be cancelling this insurance. Why? Because I recently filed more than $8,000 in claims that resulted in a $380 reimbursement. First, the claims took 2 weeks to process -- time that they clearly spent trying to figure out how to reject each individual compoent of each claim. Out of $8308.70 in claims, they paid $380 -- and that's after the $76/month in premiums, totalying $912. One of the claims that they denied was the dog's spay procedure; the reason for rejection was, "The maximum Wellness amount for these services has been previously paid for this policy term." That's funny, as I do not recall having spayed my dog more than once EVER, never mind more than once this policy term. That explanation, "The maximum Wellness amount for these services has been previously paid for this policy term," is repeated over and over and over again in their explanations of benefits, resulting in 7 out of 9 vet visits receiving $0 reimbursements, and a single $4,193 claim -- which included the (one and only) spay procedure -- qualifyiung for $205 in reimbursements. In short, for more $900 in premiums, they paid for less than $400 in claims. I actually would have saved money if I didn't have pet insurance. And this was a year of high vet bills; in a year of lower vet bills, they would presumably pay even less, resulting in more out-of-pocket expense for me. And that is why I am cancelling this insurance (once I receive the $380 that they've agreed to pay).”

“I have made a few claims in the last couple of years, and everything has been great. Turnaround time on the claims is quick. I am greatful that I have them PB on my side just in case something goes really bad with my girl.”

“First claim for dental is delayed. My vet sent all required documents and proof of payment. No edition yet. Dental cleaning was done during ACL surgery to minimize anesthesia for my dog.”
