It tales this company a long time to repay claims. They always send out an apology e-mail but do better instead and pay faster!

I have always had a good experience with Pets Best until recently. I submitted quite a big claim and it took over a month to get it processed. I have never had an issue with this. I hope this was just a one time occurance.

I turned in my claim 4/25/20 just received payment 6/11/24. Took quite a while. Other than that I like it. Not sure what the rest of this review is all about!! There was no delivery. I've been waiting for a claim check.

I got several emails saying that my claim was delayed but never an explanation about what the hold-up was. This is a HUGE change from when I first enrolled Trixie when the reimbursement came within a week or two. It would have helped me a lot to hear what brought about the delay instead of just getting these letters that told me nothing.

The claims are easy to submit but your coverage is so limited and the monthly cost is so high that I'm wondering if it really pays to have insurance for my dog.

My service has had some ups and downs. When I first signed up a few years back, the responses and payments took well over a month. Then it got better for a while, only a few weeks for a response. Now, my last submission took 6 weeks for response and payment. Not exactly killing it, in my opinion. Additionally, my last submission was for a covered wellness item...

Claims process takes too long

Easy claims process. However, keeps going up exponentially in cost even when pets are healthy.

Charlie got sick, had to euthanize him. Filed claim that was denied, filed appeal that was denied, filed 2nd appeal that was finally approved and I was reimbursed. Am disappointed that I had to jump thru all those hoops to get paid. I had to point out that there was no diagnosis and that his pre-existing conditions had nothing to do with his symptoms. The vet wanted to hospitalize him and run more tests. I'm happy you finally understood what was happening with him and I was paid..Cody

First claim and it took three weeks to process it. They needed extra information from me but they never let me know, the process moved forward because I was proactive enough to call customer support and asked for an update. Don’t think I will renew with them for next year

Unhappy with the review process. I kept receiving emails asking for medical records although records had been provided. Often times, it felt as though they were attempting to delay payment by continuously asking for medical records. Customer Service Reps were a bit flippant when calling for assistance.

The coverage and plan options are good. The cost and premium increases your over year isn’t what I initially expected. Probably the thing that’s most dissatisfactory is the amount of time it takes to get reimbursed. I’ve had a claim out there for two months pending reimbursement policies I’ve had like Embrace have reimburse me within 2 to 3 days of submitting, that can make a difference, especially if you have a large claim dependent on the money we are considering switching to Embrace for this reason.

The average time it takes to review a claim lately is over 3 weeks. One of my claims took almost 40 days to review and process. Luckily they reimbursed a major surgery in 2 days, but everything else has taken ages. The customer service is very kind, but when you’re paying $$$ per year to have your pets covered, it would be nice to be reimbursed in a timely manner.

The coverage is pretty good, but the app is terrible - I usually just go straight through the website instead - and it takes FOREVER for them to review the claim before getting reimbursed. We have a different company’s insurance for our older dog and while expensive, the app is extremely easy and quick to submit a claim and they review and respond/reimburse within a few days.

Pets Best started out great, but it seems like something has changed, and now they’re just okay. Now they do everything they can to try to get out of paying claims, including making the claims process more difficult than it needs to be. For one of my dogs, I’ve been fighting for almost a year now to get claims paid because they’re saying that the condition was “pre-existing” even though our vet has provided evidence that it wasn’t. When our vet provided that evidence, suddenly PB went from saying the condition was pre-existing by 2 years to changing their story to saying the condition was pre-existing by ONE DAY prior to the start of the policy (which is still inaccurate, according to our vet). At this point, at least 2 of my dogs are too old to try to switch insurances, otherwise I already would have.

I was recently disappointed with the very low reimbursement rates for my pet’s wellness visit.

When I submit a claim, I frequently get a form letter stating that information is missing. For example, my dogs name is not on the invoice, the invoice does not itemize the charges to name a few. It reads like a form letter! My most recent claim HAD all the information but I still had to take the time to call the insurance company and find out details. Why can't letters be tailored to the specific case? This just delays the whole process.

Great for emergency of frequent visits when they are puppies. But once they are older and just go once a year its a bit much. Havinga big dog the preventatives cost more so it would be nice if they had higher reembursment for big dogs
