The insurance seems to cover almost nothing and takes an extended amount of time to reimburse. Would not recommend.

This BestWellness policy cost me over $1,000 a year and didn't pay for a lot of the shots and vet visits for my dog. My policy stated it paid $50 for wellness exam and it paid nothing. Also paid nothing for Heartworm test, FELV screening, Fea/Tick prevention, heartworm prevention and a few other services. Total annual benefits stated $535. When asked why I was told I needed to meet my deductible or it was not covered. I've had this policy since I adopted Oreo when he was ten weeks old and it was a total waste of money

Company takes too long to process claims, usually about 6 weeks. Premiums keep going up, which I expect as my dog gets older, but having to pay vet bills at time of service and waiting so long to be reimbursed is truly a financial strain on a retired senior such as myself. I have friends and family who have another pet insurance company and their claims are ALWAYS paid within 2 weeks. Every time I file a claim I receive an email after several weeks of waiting stating that they apologize for the delay and usually takes another 2-3 weeks after that to get notified of payment. How would it be if I delayed my premium every month?? Would Pets Best wait for that? I don’t understand what the problem is, but they need to get their act together!

We were not aware of all the co-pays associated with each appointment. We printed and read all the information. Just glad to have some coverage.

I would like a quicker turn around time for claims. When you submit a claim, the app advertises it takes 7-10 days on average. This is true for claims that have $0 reimbursement. You guys are quick for those, as for the big expense which weighs on my budget and finance the most, take the full 40 days. By then, I have to pay interest on the payment that I placed on a credit card so that doesn’t help. Its disappointing.

2 stars because it shouldn’t take over a month to process a very basic wellness/illness claim. I’ve been a customer for almost 4 years now and processing claims has always been a very slow process.

takes forever to get them to approve a claim and even longer to get your reimbursement

I’m VERY disappointed that you do not cover Veterinary Technician fees…that’s just ridiculous ! My last bill was $322.00 and you covered $30.00 of it. I guess I got the wrong insurance.

I felt very good about insuring my Saint Bernard’s through pets best. Now with my golden retriever and English bulldog, I have strong regrets. Customer service has gone downhill tremendously within the last year. To get anyone on the phone, you must wait about 40+ minutes. I have an issue with my bulldog and because of a note made by his vet at 9 weeks old, his condition is considered pre-existing and I think it’s asinine. I pay a lot of money for this insurance for terrible customer support along with loop holes the company is taking to NOT help pay for my dogs care. I will be changing my retrievers insurance after all this is said and done and I will tell all of my experience. I do want to note the customer rep Julie is very good at her job and acts like she cares. The supervisor I talked to was decent as well. The male customer support was terrible and should probably move into a janitorial position where he won’t have to deal with discouraged customers. Insurance has gone up and the care has gone down. Discouraged and upset is an understatement. Oh and live chat isn’t even an option now. So I have to call during business hours only, while I also have a job to tend to.

I filed two different pet claims at the same time. One claim was quickly resolved in a week; however, the second claim took over a month. Little information was provided on why the process took longer.

They've been ok for some things, but also denied payment on annual vaccines because I got them 11ish months after the last round, instead of waiting a full year. (I did this so my dog would be current on his vaccines so I could board him while I traveled out of country.) They also told me that some treatment for a tooth my dog recently broke was not covered because they somehow determined that this happened before the start of my policy, which was over a year ago...? They haven't explained this one to me yet.

I have a different company on my other pet that I like much better. These guys takes months and months to pay out, and the overall experience hasn't been as good.

Reimbursement needs to be better. Still waiting on decision for vet services from July 19th. Having to wait this long for non injury matter is ridiculous. Given your history and expertise I was hoping for better.

Well, as much as I pay for pet insurance, I feel that my policy shoud cover/reimburse more than what I received. Out of $250, I was only reimbursed $25. What is the sense of paying for routine exams and not getting reimbursed? I am very disppointed. T. Young

The reimbursement for my last two claims took 40 and 42 days. Unacceptable that it took that long.

1. Too long of wait to talk with a representative 2. When filing a claim a ythi g past 5 days is too long to wait let alone typically takes pets best more than 3 weeeks just to look at it ,let alone adjudicate it! Past insurance timely less than week and answer phone less than 10 minutes vs Pete’s best over 35 minutes and not the first time of above !!!!
