The processing times are incredibly slow. If you have to charge your vet bill to a credit card, your claim will absolutely not be processed by the time you have to pay the credit card bill. And while customer service is incredibly kind, they don't have access to see exactly when your claim will be processed. Outside of processing times, I have no complaints. The claims that have been fully processed have all been in accordance with my policy with no hassle. And once the claim is processed, time to reimbursement is acceptable.

Prices are increasing but the coverage is below average and the period to recieve monies takes very long. Will be looking to move companies.

The turnaround time is terrible took me four times calling them to finally get a hold of somebody. Kept getting emails that they were waiting for medical records for my veterinarian that they never sent a request for in the first place. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely reconsider using this service.

Timeliness is kind of funny with pets best. I have some claims that got reviewed immediately and others that have been in the cue for a long time. Additionally, I feel like a lot of things get denied. This becomes disappointing quickly. Lastly, it seems that my plans price got hiked up and I don’t understand why.

It took 45 days to wait for reimbursement for a vet visit to look at my dog for a swollen bee sting and to get a benadryl shot. Then at the same time you go and increase my rate by almost $20 per month. Your claims service and underwriting is poor.

Once a claim is filed you don’t have any idea if you will get any or absolutely nothing in reimbursements! I have paid at least $4800 in premiums to this outfit No where near that amount in insurance payments! Didn’t know we had $250 deductible! They find any reason to not pay you, making even illness trips out to be wellness checks or applying reimbursable expenses to your deductible! Not impressed at all, I am shopping now! This last time they divided our claim into to 2 EOBs arriving at different times, No explanation as to why? But just another way so you can’t figure out what they are doing? I am sure you can find a more transparent, less confusing insurance company!!

Claim process is slow. I put in claims almost a month ago and have yet seen any change other than sorry for the delay. We have to be punctual paying them but they can take their sweet time.

I've had Pets Best insurance for about two years. My biggest complaint is how long it takes for them to process claims. I recently submitted a claim and it took more than a month to be processed. I really hope they can improve on this. I have another pet insurance for my other pets and they consistently process claims within a few days. I also wish they offered an option to cover prescription diets and prescribed supplements, which so many pets need to maintain their health.

The length of time it took to review and process my most recent claims is unacceptable. Fortunately the amounts were relatively small. If they had been larger claims it would have been a major issue for me.

I sent in my claim April 26th it did not get an answer until June 4th. I constantly called and asked if they needed medical records were missing anything and was told no they did not need anything it was not until 33 days into the claim they finally said they needed medical records. This was an extremely unpleasant ordeal to go through and I feel that the only reason they finally sped up was because I told them I feel like they're taking my money and trying to get out of doing the claim

I’ll be honest, the coverage and plans offered through Pets Best are great. However, I submitted a claim over 2 months ago and it finally got reviewed yesterday but I have yet to receive my reimbursement. This is an issue when the whole reason I got pet insurance was because I cannot afford $400 vet bills without being reimbursed in a timely manner. They have always been slow to review claims & pay out (always over a month) but this time was just ridiculous. Strongly considering switching companies if they cannot increase review & reimbursement times.

Not happy with the schedule allowances for veterinarian service the hardly cover anything it’s states any take home medication for your pet is covered in full I didn’t any reimbursement for the medication they’re supposed to give you back $50 for a heartworm prevention and I only got $20 so they stay in the policy is false advertisement. That’s why the coverage is so cheap. I wouldn’t recommend this anybody soon my period is up. I am not going to renew my insurance policy this company. They are horrible.

My dog has recrring ear infections. Because he has allergies, the insurance feels all meds are for pre-existing conditions

I've been a customer for years and rarely had to use the coverage. I recently submitted a claim on 4/24 only to recieve confirmation on 6/4. Much of my claim was deductible and the rest of the claim is only $89.30 covered of which I still have not received reimbursement. It was a simple claim that is taking way too long to reimburse. It just does not seem like the cost vs coverage is worth it anymore, especially considering I have to wait so long for correspondance.

I have reserved comments for some time as your reimbursements have been very slow in coming in. Finally after weeks of processing my payments came in, much lower than expected. Since I have had your policy I have never claimed anything on my dog, Josh, as I felt normal visits and even a couple er visits were my responsibility under normal wellness issues. But in April he became suddenly seriously ill and was near death. He was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder called idiopathic pyrogranulomatous lymphadenitis that unfortunately the only cure is long term medication, bloodwork etc. Unfortunately during the first few weeks of treatment he had several setbacks that required er visits and further testing that were necessary to save him. These were not simply wellness claims as you explained to me but necessary procedures that were performed as an emergency response to diagnose what was causing the setbacks and to determine the treatment adjustments needed. At this time they have proved successful, but long term prognosis is still open. These services were not routine but simply urgently required at the time to reverse serious setbacks. I realize this has been very expensive to your business. And trust me I dread having to use your services any more than necessary, as there are no winners here. However in closing I strongly disagree to your characterization that the denied claims were based on routine wellness. They were in fact necessary procedures to treat emergency conditions at the time.

After using Pets Best for close to 8 years now, I regret adding the newest members of our fur family to the plan. 100% of the claims I've filed in the last year have taken extended time to process. With 3 pets that's A LOT of claims. With each claim a minimum of $500 and 2 totaling over 2k, that's a lot of money for me to be waiting on processing. In the past 2 weeks was the longest process time. Sorely disappointed.
