They take forever to reimburse back and the communication is terrible (you don’t know if you’re getting reimbursed or not until 3-8 weeks after) and and after you find out, you are getting reimbursed, they still take another week or two to give you the money finally.

They have closed my claim and I have not received my funds. I am supposed to get almost $3k. This is problematic.

I am disappointed in my last claim reimbursement. I spent over $500 on my dog's annual exam and vaccinations and only received $80 back. I am going to call tomorrow and dispute this. Hopefully this is not correct. Otherwise, why do I have insurance?

Hi Karyn, thanks for sharing your thoughts as they are important to us. Our Wellness Endorsements are a set schedule of benefits that are not subject to a deductible or co-pay. Each line item on the schedule is the maximum the policy would pay for that line item for your pet in a policy year. Unfortunately, your pet may use up the benefits quickly depending on what your veterinarian charges for their services. It's so NOT cost-effective for me, I need to stop my insurance with you. I'd better open a savings account with the money I pay you. Or get a loan for any veterinarian cost.

The rates are cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for, but it takes forever to get claims through, and even if they go through, you almost never get anything back for one reason or another. On our last $750 claim for an accident, half was conveniently not covered & the other half was taken as deductible. We got $72 reimbursed. If I had just saved my money for the insurance premium each month, I would have had more money. I guess it is what it is, but at this point, it’s not even worth it. It’s set up expecting multiple $1000 claims a year & if you don’t have that, you get basically nothing reimbursed.

Slow on reimbursements. Pets Best will not pay on any past issues with your pet if you had insurance before. My recommendation is start with one company and stay with it because if you change to another those issues will be considered past issues.

Pets Best takes forever to settle claims. They barely cover any claims you make. Not sure if it’s worth having pet insurance.

Pets Best makes the claim process arduous, intentionally ambiguous, and you never know how much you're going to be reimbursed for. It's a mystery every time. The costs continue to rise, and the service levels continue to drop. They take special pride in keeping your premium dollars and finding new loopholes to not reimburse you for legitimate costs. I'll be looking elsewhere.

For normal routine visits it is fairly quick for claims…. Urgent or emergency visits it takes over 30 days for them to even review it and they will ask for medical records after the receipt was sent. I was not happy with how long and how hard it was to get ahold of them. I canceled my plan and went to lemonade who pays out quicker and is just better experience than pets best.

In most cases they will find an excuse and won't reimburse you anything

I decide to cancel because my dog got sick one time with similar symptoms compare to the claim that I just finally got approved, I didn’t like the service and is very concerning what if something worse happens

Too many coverage exceptions, long waits for reimbursements, really expensive monthly payments that keep going up every year! Yay!

I have a French Bulldog that had to have her names enlarged and her palate fixed. This is a problem most french bulldogs face. I asked at the time I signed up if this would be covered. I was told yes. My vet and I discussed this and he said he would correct this at the time she was spayed. However this was not covered because they said it was preexisting...hello all frenchies are basically born with thus problem, which gets worse over time. Then they said if it's a medical emergency it would be covered....however they could turn around and claim preexisting...so why don't u be upfront and tell me it's not covered. I have spent nearly $3000 on my frenchie who is just under 1.5 yrs and have been reimbursed less than $400. So I'm considering being self insured.

I have had since my pet was a puppy. At first was great, now not so much. Turn around time on claims are poor. Premium has doubled, in fact when I called to discuss it Pets Best customer service was awful. In fact I was told that if I changed agency his claims would follow me . Nothing like good old SNARKY custom service.

Not pleased with determination of benefits. On the first two claims made I needed to appeal the decision on both. One of the claims was paid after appeal. Still awaiting a decision on the other appeal. The service was in February 2024. Now at the end of April, still no response. I am beginning to regret leaving the previous insurance company.
