“Took a month to resolve a claim”

“Lengthy process for claims, drags on just to extend time for payment. Not worth value of investment. Better products out there.”

“More like Pets Worst Health Insurance. They promote that if your dog needs knee surgeries, they cover it. Except, when my dog needed knee surgery, they couldn't tell me what would or wouldn't be covered until they could review the invoice. So I had to pay for the whole thing up front not knowing if or what would be covered, only to find out they wouldn't cover it because of a 'pre-existing condition' because he had a couple weeks of lameness 2 years before the surgery. They didn't cover a single penny of a $5k surgery. Then, my dog needed a second surgery on the other knee, and it was the exact same story, couldn't tell me what would be covered till after they reviewed the invoice. Then they didn't cover a single penny on other knee surgery, also claiming 'pre-existing condition' and when I pushed back, they cited that the pre-existing condition was that he had surgery on the other knee... . I don't know about you, but I had ACL reconstruction on my right knee... does that mean that some day I'll need one on my left? Ridiculous. My vet also thought this was ridiculous that none of it was covered and wrote in a personal letter about how it was not a pre-existing condition and should have been covered. My biggest regret in my pets care was choosing Pets Best. I have paid thousands to them over the years I have been a customer only to have had to cover two major injuries 100% out of pocket totalling over $11,000 dollars. It's rare that they cover even the things they say they will. And now I feel stuck with them because my dog is 9 and it feels too late to switch to another insurance carrier. Save yourself a boat load of money and either set the money aside you would pay these folks and self insure, or find another provider.”

“Claims take at least 4-6 weeks to be processed. And the policy covers very little — there are excuses and bogus reasons. We will contact our state insurance commissioner’s office about the most recent failures. It’s a terrible policy.”

“Need to wait over a month to get reimbursed says 15 days to 42 had all the documents sent out right away and still waiting and waiting to get check . Never fast”

“I used to like pets best because they used to process claims fast but no more for the past year claims started takes way too long (longer than a month) in addition to that they start increasing my premium.”

“You take forever to process claims. This has been my experience with every single claim filed. Most recently it took a month to recover a vaccination fee with my wellness plan. Unacceptable.”

“Terrible, rates continue to go up and not just a few bucks either. They also do not pay fourth or cover what they say they will cover. Also if you have a claim it takes weeks sometimes months to hear anything back and to get reimbursed. Would not recommend pets best. If you want pet insurance look around and find someone else. If I could give 0 stars I would.”

“I think it’s ridiculous that they don’t cover an injury that occurred years after you have had this insurance but bc it is a bilateral injury to one that incurred before you had the insurance so they can get out of the claim.”

“Be ready to spend a lot more of time and money. Untimely claim turnaround. A lot of hidden explanation that’s way in favor for this company not the consumer. I’ll be blocking payment and looking elsewhere. Shame for praying on people’s animals”
