Tried to talk to representative for days now and there is no way to talk to the person it’s just recording

Got insurance to help with my dogs vet bills. Since getting the insurance I have spent $1100 on vet bills. From that I received $100 refund. Since I have had the insurance I have spent around $200 on monthly payments, meaning having the insurance has caused me more costs than it has helped me. Will probably be canceling soon

It takes forever to get any info back after you’ve sent a claim other than the constant emails stating “sorry for delays”, when I call customer service, easily 20 minute wait. No real clarity on what’s covered and isn’t. I would definitely switch to a different insurance if I could.

AWFUL THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG AMOUNT AND TOOK IT BACK TO PAY FOR ANNUAL DEDUCTION. I emailed them and they never got back to me . It took them a month to finish claim. AWFUL

I originally bought pet insurance after dealing with a financially draining emergency situation for another pet, thinking it would asisst in taking care of large emergency care costs up front should it happen again in the future. It is unfortunate to discover that not only does no care get covered up front, but it can take well over a month to be reimbursed. The large additional monthly payment for "essential care" seems to be hardly worth it as well, only covering about 40% of my routine care appointment. ($185 out of $406). I am beginning to regret picking up this insurance and may cancel before the start of my next term. its just not worth it for the amount of care, and the time it takes to get much needed help.

An ear infection is not a preexisting condition. It happens with dogs repeatedly and does not stem from a single event or illness.

Claims are delayed one to two times often. It’s been a month and my claim is still being processed.

I got poor coverage for the amount I was paying every month. I got reimbursed for less than half of the money for Vet visits. It’s better to just save the money and pay for the vet visit with cash rather than relying on the reimbursement from Pets Best.

Filing a claim was easy but it took over 2 months to process the claim and when I looked at the faq page it states it takes 2 weeks to process. Also when I tried to get ahold of a agent my call was rejected and the chat button said the is no agents available

Traditional insurance imposes deductible only (not co-pay) and once met, co-pay applies- deceptive practice. Wrong reason provided for explanation of why charge not covered- not worth getting them to correct but here's the incorrect response: Biohazardous waste disposal, OSHA, and other related fees are not part of policy coverage. Please refer to Section 9-C.9 in your policy form.

Processing a big claim takes an incredible amount of time and follow up. I was on hold ( waiting for a representative to pick up minimally for 20 minutes and once for close to 40 minutes. Once a representative did answer it was obvious they were “working” from home based on children in background- I actually told a supervisor on a recorded call I could hear her children and she seemed distracted. My claim was initially declined as they said the numbers didn’t match- once I called they did the math with me on the phone and my submission was correct but added 3 additional weeks to receive payment. You can’t email a customer service representative and get a response. The company seems very poorly led.

Expensive with very little coverage, even though I'm paying for all coverage. Claims after 2 months of waiting on a claim with no response that it was denied because they couldn't reach my vet, and my vet said they never even requested medical records. Pets Best didn't let me know about that until my claim was denied. Resubmitted it with the medical records from my vet, and it still took 2 more months to be approved. Very scammy! Customer service is beyond poor. Called to ask them to cancel my coverage, and it was never canceled. So disappointing because this insurance was recommended by my vet, but after my experience, I would not recommend them to anyone!

It seems like it takes a long time to review a claim and then most often it is denied. Denying a claim because of pre-x periodontal disease is just wrong. Of course a dogs will be treated more than once in their life for new issues with their teeth. Very disappointed.

The cost of the insurance plus the deductible for each occurrence is not worth it. Our latest $300+ bill resulted in around a $25 reimbursement. I have discontinued my policy.

Took over 40 days to tell me they needed 4 months of vet meds from 5 years ago, then closed my claim. Sent in the meds and they “reopen the claim” by giving it a new claim number and reset the clock for another 3 week delay. The entire process took 3 months. I called in to speak with a licensed adjuster and was told no. The only person I could talk to was an unlicensed producer. She gave me details about my claim and avoided answering question. All of which is illegal and she was unlicensed, in any state, to discuss claims. Pet insurance needs to be regulated or companies and processes like this will continue to collect premiums and do their best to avoid paying. By the time us was done they collected more in premium then they paid our, which I believe was the goal from the beginning. Delay delay delay. Horrible service
