The insurance is ok but like everything else, the premiums cost more each year. I feel if your pet is happy & healthy it means you're taking good care of them and the premium prices should go down.

I would have rated PetsBest excellent... When I first signed up the response time for processing claims was outstanding -- this is no longer the case. It can now take a month or more, whereas two years ago it was a week to ten days. However, they are very good at meeting their obligation to the insured.

Pretty straight forward insurance, however our first initial claim took over a month to get processed. Our new-to-us pet came from a shelter, so there were very few medical records for our new pet, and that seemed to hold things up. When dealing with any claims make sure to use the claim number in the email subject to expedite things. The Wellness Rider we have required the deductible to be paid first, but on the upside we did get a reimbursement after our first visit because we fulfilled the $250 deductible. The EOB was very clearly laid out, and broke down all costs in a clear and concise manner. This insurance is very good, but don't look for a quick reimbursement if you need an instant return on footing the bill.

I really like this insurance company, but getting in touch with them is almost impossible. I’ve stayed on hold for over an hour at a time after giving up. Emails and chat are not answered quickly, if at all. Hopefully this is just due to COVID issues with less employees. Otherwise I really like their efficiency in taking care of claims and depositing the money directly to you.

Good product and excellent service up to this last claim, which was measured in weeks for processing. This was uncharacteristically slow, and I will assume due to pandemic.

My most recent claim has been resolved in a very timely manner and paid out correctly. My previous claims took months to resolve. One claim that I had been assured would be covered and paid, was initially denied, and it was a headache to resolve, but it was eventually paid correctly.

Overall good. I got my reimbursement, It took longer than I expected. However, they were constantly updating me about the reason was delaying the process, which was paperwork from the vet clinic. I offered to send my copies but never received an answered back.

I submitted two bills. Only one was processed. Somehow, since I pay almost $300/month, I expect to receive more benefits than I do. However, as a retired person with elderly dogs, I appreciate receiving the reimbursement for some of the expenses. I wish there was a rate difference for retirees. Happy Holidays!

I've had PetsBest for three months now, and it has already paid for itself. It pays for the expenses that I expect it to. I've seen some negative reviews that say they do not pay out, but I think this is largely people not understanding what is covered by their policy, or not understanding how insurance deductibles works. The wait times can be slow, around a month for accident/illness reimbursement, but that is what I expected. They do give you a processing window, and each of my claims have been reimbursed within that window. So far, I'm glad that I have PetsBest.

I purchased the wellness plan for my puppy. When I found out that my vet’s office does not participate in the direct vet pay, I was able to submit my receipt for the routine care as a claim(just like for an insurance claim). Pets Best was quick with the review(within about 6 business days) and sent my reimbursement very quickly. I’m very happy with this so far.

They’ve paid generally on time without much of a hassle, but one of my dogs has heart failure now and they did, in my opinion, too much investigating to see if I was trying to scam them. They actually denied the claims at first forcing me to call and wait online for hours at a time and talk to multiple people, somewhere helpful and some sucked. They finally approved it but it took more than 50 days and I had to get information from a doctor that I had only spoken with for five minutes about my dogs heart condition But they needed this information even though it was completely irrelevant. I understand people try things but this was ridiculous and I have four dogs insured by them for years. In the past they’ve been good so that’s why I gave them four stars, but this time it made my dogs heart failure a lot worse for me because of the stress of arguing back-and-forth for 50 days, and me having to do a lot of the work. Thank God one of the phone customer service people help me out and was really compassionate and helped a lot.

I normally give 5 stars!! But customer service is lacking, I guess due to Covid, when you call. I was on hold for over 25 minutes not only once, but twice! And reimbursements from date of submitting claim to receiving payout is longer than it used to be. Other than that, I am very satisfied with Pets Best.
