I enjoyed the 6-week Flagship SAT Prep Course. Starting with a PSAT score of 1180 (converted to a 1290 on the SAT scale), I ended up with a 1400. Before I started the course, though, I took a practice test or two and got a 1320-1380, so I was already close to my final score. One thing I absolutely LOVE about Prep Expert is that since I didn’t improve by 200 points, I got 100% of my money back. SAT courses can be extremely expensive and in my family’s financial situation, I hated to have to ask my parents to enroll me. The 200-point guarantee is awesome and offers so much ease: if you don’t improve your previous score by 200 points, you are completely refunded as long as you complete all the requirements (which is not missing too many classes/homework, detailed info is in the FAQ section). I had Miguel Chavira as my instructor, and I genuinely loved him! He’s super personable and makes the class fun. If we had any additional questions, he would gladly go over them as thoroughly as he could. Once when he couldn’t make a class for whatever reason, we had Harsh Patel as our instructor for two classes. He was fine, but compared to Chavira, his teaching style wasn’t as helpful. Patel would only go over the most requested questions for the sake of time, which I understand completely, but what’s the point of a class if I can’t get at least a bit of personalized instruction… Just a bit. I would be confused about a question and couldn’t even have it answered or explained quickly. Chavira was able to go over questions as much as we wanted (for the most part), so not sure why Patel wouldn’t. Also, just in general, Chavira was really receptive to what students would say and I really enjoyed him as a teacher. It was easy to see that he genuinely wanted to help us and would give us tips and tricks often. I didn’t particularly like the way essays were graded. I didn’t even take the SAT essay, so I can’t say that the class helped me with it, but my grades for class seemed to be on an upwards incline. I don’t know if the same person grades the essays, or if it’s a different person every time, but I never liked the feedback I got. The grader would often just say “use the essay template” without any true criticism on what could be improved so I never knew what to change besides the structure. Out of all the essays, most of my feedback would have parts copy and pasted saying the same thing (use the template, refer to the prep expert essay book, etc). The essay strategies we were taught definitely helped, so it’s good they remind you to use their tips, but still. It just isn’t enough. If anyone reading this is concerned about the 3-hour duration of the class twice a week, I felt the same way initially. I thought I would fall asleep or that my very short attention span would get the best of me. Well, it actually didn’t feel long at all and my class was from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm! It goes by pretty quickly and you get 1-2 breaks. The main aspects of the class that I liked were the homework and test requirements each week. I personally would set aside every Sunday to do an SAT practice test. Yes, it was certainly annoying because these tests are not at all short; but, in the end, consistently taking tests familiarizes you with the SAT and makes you more comfortable facing questions. It’s the most important thing to do when studying for the SAT/ACT, alongside going over your weaknesses. I knew without a prep course and without the requirement to take tests, I would have zero inclination to do so. If you’re like that, I really recommend taking this course so you have an obligation to do the work. Again, I loved Mr. Chavira and definitely recommend him. My main reasons for taking off two stars: didn’t improve by much and the essay grading. My review is mostly positive, but those two factors are extremely important, especially the first one because, well, that’s the point of the course. To end, this isn’t course-related, but I loved Prep Expert’s customer service. I had to contact customer service twice because something wouldn’t submit, and even though the FAQ says they won’t accommodate you, they still helped me!! I was so scared I wouldn’t meet the requirements for the 200-point guarantee, but whenever I had a problem and explained it, personnel would help solve my issues. I appreciate you, Kelly G and Ryan Q!

My experience was decent, I personally didn't like the teaching style of my prep expert teacher. He often kept on talking about things that distracted me from learning. His jokes and memes were lame and found myself bored very often resulting in me ending up playing games on my phone or browsing social media. It was really hard to pay attention in my instructors class. The website and accessibility are really good but I wish I chose a different instructor.

Shaun I really liked the curriculum, but was disappointed with Ms Celina Paudel. She is not engaging, low in energy, has time management issues, wastes unnecessary time on each question. She always has technical difficulties with her WiFi, she spent 10 minutes of each & every class fixing her WiFi. Please choose some other teacher's class, NOT of Ms Celina Paudel.

Overall the class provided great materials and the textbooks were very helpful however i felt that at times the class was a waste of time. The instructor simply read slides and criticized students when they had questions, blaming it on their lack of attention rather than explaining. Felt more like a chore than an interesting learning experience:(

This course could be very beneficial to someone who is looking to get a higher score on the SAT, HOWEVER, it is an unrealistic course. To expect a teenager to pay attention attention for three hours, twice a week, and complete an absurd amount of homework while they are also dealing with school work is crazy. You may think you are up to the task but it is much more work than one can fathom. Sign up at your own risk!

I had a great time learning from Prep Expert! I went into the course knowing very little about the ACT, causing me to struggle a little at the beginning. As the course went on, I gained confidence and the skills to take the test efficiently. If I were to have any complaints it would be that the course gets repetitive and the math review is a little spotty with them not covering complex enough topics while driving easy ones into the ground. My instructor Will York was very good at giving in-depth explanations, which were especially helpful in difficult math problems

Prep Expert genuinely helped a lot with my score and I am grateful to my instructor Nishi Patel for that. I always felt that although I was able to get good grades in school, my SAT scores were simply not reflecting my intelligence and capability. However, Prep Expert taught such easy and helpful strategies, especially for the reading and writing section, and I feel that I am so much more confident after the 6 week course and seeing tremendous improvement.

Customer Service was the worst I have ever dealt with. I would never deal with this company again, even if they offered the services for free. For a company that is highly publicized, I am very unhappy. Upon asking questions, I feel I was talked down upon, and then when I finally had enough, I was told they would only refund 1/2 of my payment. I definitely would not buy into the hype of this company. It will be a very costly mistake!!!

Worst SAT Prep you can ever take. They are just into money making. They are hiring incompetent college students. My daughter;s scores were 1310 before taking their classes and it went down after taking the classes with them.

The proctor pressured the students to finish the practice tests to fit her personal schedule. Even though in person class size was great with only 4 students yet my daughter could not be given opportunity to ask enough questions. It was pure business once you registered and paid the money it was a done dealI gave 2 stars because of good class size and nice location for the classes but that's about it.Honestly my daughter's scores were better before taking this course. I would recommend that you can study and take practice tests on your own far better way.

The process was long and boring, with the class being too expensive. The website is hard to use, impossible to find essay prompts and vocab words. It's nearly impossible to gauge how well you'll do on the SAT with these classes, and throughout the practice exams my own scores have not improved. If you are already a high performing student, it's best to not waste the thousand dollars on this six weeks of pure boredom.

The website advertises a “200-point improvement or your money back” guarantee, but in reality it is riddled with artificial technicalities. I purchased the unlimited plan, and my child completed two full SAT prep courses, did assignments, watched the lectures, solved over 900 questions (!), and took their six full-length practice tests—scoring consistently between 1430 and 1540. Then came the official SAT: a 1280 (only 170 above his PSAT). That’s absurdly below what the practice tests predicted. When I applied for a refund (which they advertise is “as easy as 1-2-3”), I was told we didn’t qualify. Why? Because assignments were submitted after tight deadlines (but still weeks prior to the SAT) and he watched recordings of some meetings which fell around holiday travel even though all the work was done weeks before the SAT. What about the second course he took to make sure he did not miss anything the first time around - that's another 6 weeks of lectures, assignments, etc.? They took care of that too. The score improvement guarantee only applies to the first course taken—even if you paid for multiple classes or bought the unlimited plan. That restriction is buried deep in the terms and is not pointed out when you are being upsold on the unlimited plan and boxed into a short time frame to make your decision. So even if your child were to do everything perfectly in the second course, it wouldn't count. Bottom line: the refund policy is filled with technicalities that make it impossible to actually qualify. Practice tests and assignments are way too easy and underprepare you for the official test. Read the fine print. Proceed with caution.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear about your frustration with the SAT preparation and the refund process. We understand how important this is, and we take your concerns seriously. It’s always our goal to set our students up for success, and we absolutely want to ensure that our courses live up to the expectations we set. That said, our guarantee is designed to support students who follow the structure we recommend, which includes specific guidelines for deadlines and assignments. I understand that there were extenuating circumstances in your case, but these policies are in place to ensure every student gets the full benefit of the courses. Regarding the refund policy, we certainly don’t want to mislead anyone. While the guarantee applies to the first course, we strive to be transparent about our terms. I apologize if this wasn’t made clear during the enrollment process, and we’ll absolutely review how we communicate these details moving forward. I understand your frustration with the practice tests not aligning with the official SAT results. We continually work to ensure our materials reflect the real exam as closely as possible, and we’ll take your feedback into account as we improve our offerings. Again, I’m sorry for the experience you’ve had, and I hope you know that your feedback is being heard. If you'd like, we’d be happy to discuss further and explore any additional ways we can support you moving forward.

My instructor was Mr. Jameson and he was really helpful! He had a very positive and fun attitude in class so it created and extremely exciting atmosphere to be in. He joked around many times and it made it an enjoyable class. I also felt his explanations were really good especially with Science and Math. Mr. Jameson also helped us just get a lot of background info and how the ACT would benefit us in college applications too which was really really helpful. Overall, I really enjoyed the class and feel more confident about taking the ACT.

It was a very helpful course. I Started with a 1270 on my practice tests and after the course my best score was a 1510 on a practice test. My instructor Miguel Chavira put a lot of time into helping us and it really showed. The course was not just helpful for content, but also helped my test taking skills and overall ability to study.
