“Products and most services are good. The big let-down is the pdf data sheets that are often so poor as to be illegible; some also contain mistakes. Sometimes I am able to find the equivalent info from the manufacturer - other times I buy from elsewhere. If you want examples contact dhaen@mac.com”

“Generally a good experience but a couple of things ruled out 5 stars: 1. one item was out of stock - I had to wait a couple of weeks; especially annoying as I couldn't easily obtain it elsewhere 2. one item was very much more expensive than from the manufacturer 3. two items were unobtainable at Rapid”

“Prices good. Shop and telephone service very good. Stock of true industrial electronic parts are limited. Farnell & RS will have the parts. Website Frustrating (As is RS) 1) Constanly flashes up drop down menu from the thick blue title bar and blocks the view of any search. 2) Searching is dreadfull. Farnell have the best with the parametric filtering. First search reveals hundres of individual parts with pictures. They need to be rationalised into groups. Pop up sumaries flash up all the time obscuring adjacent detail. The paper catalogue has much better grouping,perhaps a line to that would help. Parts are out of stock or on extended delivery too frequently causing me to goto your competitors for supply. I am a prototype designer so if its easier to go else where (generally Farnell) their part number goes on the stock list and thats the part number the production buyers see. I will never buy volume my clients might so I am interested in zero lead time for prototyping. On the up side worst case I miss the odd item (worth pence) on the initial item. The penalty with Farnell is a £20 min order charge. Rapid only have the delivery charge (you are also reasonably close so I can and have come to the shop). RS often have min order quantity and their search facility is poor.”

“I found it a wee bit frustrating when scrolling through the various categories trying to find the exact components that I wanted to order. Sometimes the website would not allow me to 'reset' any filters that I had previously set, this meant that I had to go back to the original 'unfiltered' page and start all over again with the new filters. Apart from this, the service was excellent and I certainly will be purchasing from Rapid in the future. The delivery company, UKMail, were not very accommodating with regards to re-delivery; I was out when they attempted the first delivery so I requested a delivery to a neighbour (via their website) for the next day - this did NOT happen! After the failed second attempt at delivery, I telephoned the company and requested that the parcel be left 'in a safe place', which, fortunately, they complied with!”

“Rapid Service generally good although deliveries have now extended to 2 - 3 working days instead of overnight. A very irritating aspect from Rapid though is the random decisions to cease offering items that we use and often only proposing to supply on the same MOQ that Rapid gets from its supplier. That means Rapid is only bringing a significant price hike to the table over what we (MERG) can get direct from the supplier. For instance we now buy all our power supplies direct from Powerpax UK rather than suffering Rapid's inflated price.”
