Don't get the email voucher. Mine would not download and I could not get any help. They just kept resending an email that I could not use. The only phone number is a premium rate number - unacceptable in this day and age They say it will be a 5 min wait to talk to a customer advisor but I tried several times and after nearly an hour gave up waiting.

One star as there was no option for zero stars. We are extremely disappointed with red letter days. As the other disappointed customer below expressed, we are finding customer service extremely unhelpful. A failed transaction on their side has now led to them disputing the value of the voucher provided by the bank and are now trying to offer only half the value of the voucher. The prices of the hotels are cheaper directly than even using red letter days. The more I look into them the more I find threads saying to 'avoid them, they're a scam'. That is now sadly my experience too, despite being a loyal red letter days customer over the years. I'm extremely disappointed at how unhelpful customer services have been and this has now meant I have no birthday weekend away as a result. We will never use them again if this doesn't get resolved. Similar to the email below I feel passionately about spreading the word, unless my issue is resolved, to avoid others having the same negative experience. The fact the whole transaction went through our end and they are backtracking is an unacceptable way to treat loyal customers.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Expired Voucher and Customer Service Experience Dear Red Letter Days, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with a voucher I purchased last Christmas for a hotel stay for my wife and myself. We have stayed at this particular hotel several times over the past ten years. I chose to purchase the voucher through Red Letter Days, as the presentation box was more appealing than simply gifting a hotel receiptin a Christmas card. I was unaware that the voucher had an expiration date. Upon attempting to redeem the voucher, I discovered it had expired. I subsequently found the same deal available, albeit at a slightly higher price, and was willing to pay the additional £40.00. However, I was informed that this was not possible, despite Red Letter Days already holding my initial payment. Customer service has advised that there is nothing they can do to resolve this issue. I find this unacceptable. Furthermore, I have discovered that contacting the hotels directly often results in a cheaper rate than that offered through Red Letter Days. My research indicates that this is due to the fees charged by Red Letter Days. I have also found numerous similar complaints on other websites and negative experiences shared on Twitter. Save your money and avoid at all costs. I lll be sharing my experience on other platforms to ensure this doent happen to other people!

Customer service is abysmal. No phone number means everything must be done through their Live Chat, after dealing with a useless AI powered assistant. This service is terrible, conversations being left unresolved after waiting for an hour (after being told the estimated wait was 11 minutes). We want to move the date of our hotel booking by one day, due to a work conflict. Despite the fact that the hotel are willing to accommodate the change, Red Letter Days are refusing to move the booking. All email communications from them acknowledge that this must be "incredibly disappointing" so they clearly realise that there is an issue here, but they obtusely refuse to make any effort to avoid disappointment.

I have had a nightmare trying to use a voucher given by friends. Despite having a voucher and PIN number I was unable to book online. Eventually found a chat line and emailed full details to them. They now say they are unable to find details and suggest I contact Amazon who friend bought voucher through.

I booked a trip to the Blue Anchor in Hammersmith through the Red Letter Voucher and having seen they were an option on the website. This is my booking: 2 people on Sunday 19 October 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Booking reference: DMN-16912182196 & Booking type: Lunch. This i then changed to today: The changes to your booking at The Blue Anchor, Hammersmith are confirmed, 3 people on Saturday 25 October at 1pm to 3pm, Booking confirmed, Booking reference: DMN-16912182196, Booking type: Lunch. Today i turned up at the Blue Anchor to have my lunch (and pay via the voucher: Voucher expiry 15 Dec 2025). This i was then told couldnt happen. Firstly they didn't have my booking so didnt have the ability to input the voucher (they actually said they didnt work with Red Letter Days so dont know about that voucher). For this reason, we couldnt use the voucher so had to pay in cash (worth noting that we didnt go any higher as didnt plan on spending anything and have just had a baby so we are trying not to spend much). I am now asking for a cash refund for us being out of pocket (we wouldnt have gone if we didnt think it was paid for). This i believe is only fair in the circumastances. I was offered another experience which i think is inappropriate considering i have just been forced to pay for it! if this is not done i will report this to the police as fraud (which it effectively is for you stealing). I also spent over an 1.5hr on the Red Letter Days customer service hotline which is a joke in itself and derserves a complimentary pay out in its own right.

Got given a gift of a shark diving experience, that was subsequently shut down before I could use the gift. My partner says she used a discount code. Redletterdays gave me a voucher that was worth what she paid for the gift. BUT - and here is the out of order bit - you CANNOT use any discount code with a voucher!!! So, if I wanted to (I know I can't) buy that same experience, I would have to pay EXTRA compared with what she did. Outrageous. As with a lot of company's you get to see how good they are when things go wrong. FYI Redletterdays is also Buyagift

Trying to book anything locally is a nightmare.originally, we had an overnight country escape with dinner for two. When we came to book, there were two places to choose from. Both self catering Ona holiday camp 🤷‍♀️. Queried it with RLD, paid a £20 extension and told the voucher could be used towards anything. Everything we’ve looked at is too far to travel and at least an extra £50 to pay. Waste of money. Bought as a gift with all good intentions 😔

Afternoon tea at the Croft tea room St Mary Cray Orpington ish. yesterday.Stale bread sandwiches, small portions of jam and cream with hard, old scones. No cutlery or serviettes given. No choice of cakes only given a rubbish selection on a plate for my partner! Given as a gift so not at all a lovely experience. Never again.

Rubbish do not use The voucher I was given was worth £74.99 when I tried to use it I had to pay an additional £26.99 Then there was no availability for the experience I wanted anywhere even though I spoke to the variuos sites and they said there was plenty of availability. On contacting Red Letter days which you can only do by chat. I was told my original voucher is only worth £59.99 even though the receipt shows £74.99 and as it has been over 30 days they will not give me a refund only a voucher that is now £15 less than it was originally worth and I have 5 months to use it. Terrible customer service, useless gift if you cannot book the experience you want and then the voucher reduces in value.

We had several attempts to redeem a voucher,2 sessions of on line chat, only to be told in the end to telephone the venue we wanted and book our afternoon tea. The tea was a horrible experience, we were the only people there, 3 measly sandwich fingers and a several bits of shop bought dry cake. Tea served in mugs on a streaky topped worn out table in a conservatory that the staff could not open the doors to. Very disappointing and the whole venue looks very tired and worn inside and out, Such a shame as it is a beautiful location. The Lion Quays seemed to have its day and it was not a red letter one.

Give them a wide berth. £200 hotel voucher got me 2 nights in a Premier Inn in Southport. If I'd booked a flexible booking direct it was £138. When I queried the price they said they would give me the difference as a voucher if they could match the booking on Booking.com or Expedia. I asked if we could include breakfast with the remaining money and they said no. They said they don't book direct with the hotels so who did they book through?? Total scam merchants

Everything. This company is uncontactable. I have booked and paid for an an extension to our voucher. Red Letter Days said they would send an email to confirm the extension. This has not happened, and it is not possible to alert Red Letter days that this has not happened, because there is no way I can contact customer services as this option does not exist on the Red Letter Days website, apart from a Chatbot that is unable to respond at all to anything apart from an algorithm.

Can't log in. Have £34 credit which I can't redeem.Started an online course but haven't finished it and can no longer get on to the site. Everything about the website makes it difficult. Customer service is useless. Only AI generated responses which don't address the question. Tried to ring and number not recognised. Has company gone into administration?

Avoid at all costs! Their customer services is practically non existent. No telephone number, minimal unhelpful responses in chat bot and no response to several emails in 3 weeks. Writing a poor review on a public forum tends to get a public response but they don’t bother to reply to customers communicating with them directly. Extremely frustrating and disappointing!

I was looking forward to spending my birthday gift, even invited my sister to enjoy afternoon tea with me. The whole experience is so frustrating. I cannot book afternoon tea within a 10 mile radius of where I want to go. Such a waste of time, money and effort. Many of the venues I found online didn't even work with Red letter days anymore. What a disappointment. I have spent about 2 hours on it just to find a location, I would say absolutely impossible and there is no refund available. Just about says it all.

I have paid an extra £15 by booking with red letter days than if I had just paid the museum directly. I thought Red Letter Days were supposed to be cheaper ?.
