“I had 312 5 star reviews and scammer stole multiple listings and posted them on other sites. Reverb the suspended my listing, and another listing I told them the buyer was a scammer. And man I was right again. They then suspended my account. I'm contemplating a lawsuit”
“No dedicated number when problems arise customer service is atrocious nonexistent, faceless entity who when problems arise, throw you under the bus, stay away from the site, continual problems, and nobody responds to you and a diligent, professional manner and leaves you hanging by a thread”
“This site is run by 95% scammers and maybe 2% of people actually looking to buy. If you get caught up in a scam ,EVEN IF YOU TELL THEM ? they always tell you to ship. Then you get screwed. The site sucks with no real experts. Stay far away”
“purchased a mixer board from a seller on Reverb.com. It arrived on June 4 2024 and it arrived with the effects overload light continually lit. I sent messages and pictures to the seller asking to return it for a full refund. They did not respond. I sent the same messages and pictures to Reverb.com all within their 7 day buyer protection policy. Reverb has done nothing but stall. Their employee actually wanted me to take a video of the board showing the lights lit without a power supply connected to it. This is the kind of people that work there. I have not been refunded or offered a return label......nothing but a run around.
Stay away from reverb.com.
They will not honor their buyer protection policy!!!”
“I had an account with all 5 star reviews that is now gone because someone hacked my account and was trying to fraudulently use my card to buy 1000’s of dollars worth of guitars. I immediately reported the fraudulent activity and changed my password. Reverb’s solution to this was to permanently suspend my account due to “placing orders or making offers without an intent to buy”. Trying to contact customer service is an absolute joke.”
“Reverb has definitely changed over the years! Their “Customer Service” is a “talk-to-the-hand” joke! They want nothing to do with their buyers/sellers if they have an issue. They want everything automated and just want to sit back and collect the cash! In fact, they attempt to “protect” both buyer and seller in the event of a clearly one-sided issue. Example, I purchased two guitars from a “shifty” seller, “Jason’s Gear Jungle”, and for three+ days had zero contact from this seller. Contacted Reverb and was instantly refunded my money. Why? Their answer was, “buyer sold locally and was out of stock” Yeah right! The buyer imho didn’t monitor their listings and when the price dropped (15-20%), I bought two new guitars from them. I say this because a few days later, I checked and it was relisted and was “predicted to sell soon!” What a joke! I also mention this because “JASON’S GEAR JUNGLE” has 1600+ transactions with stellar feedback! Reverb has totally prevented me from leaving any type of feedback on this experience and I thought it was important for other buyer’s to be aware. As for Reverb itself? What a shame! I meet the two guys that started Reverb many years back at a Winter NAMM Show and they were really cool and genuinely wanted to make a great musicians selling and buying community, which they did for many years. That’s sadly all gone now imho, since they sold the company. So carpe Diem: “JASON’S GEAR JUNGLE” in Riverside, CA!!!”
“I sold a MIDI interface that was working perfectly and the buyer ( apparently an incompetent moron) returned it as "broken, not working, doesn't power up". I tested it right away and was working as it should. I asked Reverb to step in and I gave them two videos proving that the unit was working, and they stop answering my request to updates about my case. They cut me off the chat and every time I ask a question the chat ends abruptly. Worst customer service ever, they care only for the money they make, nothing else. Good luck to them: I blocked the credit card related to my account.”
“Worst company I have ever dealt with I bought a guitar amp from a Dutch seller and he went forward with a scam which is made easy by their weak buyer protection policies. At the time of purchase buyer protection was virtually non existent but the seller said he couldn't ship because of the Ukraine conflict. He then tried to get me to pay him 400$ more off of the app on top of the 900$ and 300$ shipping he already received after I told him no I tried to file a claim but there was no avenue for me to pursue that. I had given up but I saw recently that there was now a way for me to file a claim so I did and I was met by their racist European support claim worker Eric A and he said that too much time had passed and shipping carriers don’t keep records after 6 months which was a straight up lie and obviously false statement. I know this because I called the carrier and found the item had been returned to sender. Reverb closed my claim request after that I wouldn't buy or sell on this website ever again. Sweetwater is worth the extra $ because you know they have your back I feel no fear when I order from sweetwater but with reverb I have never received an item I have purchased and I have zero faith in their customer service and I actually think they have a vested interest in defrauding their customers. That is the only thing that could explain the disrespect I received from the claims department both verbally hostile and hostile in their sneaky ways of defrauding their customers but the music industry as a whole is toast nobody really should be treating it as anything more than a hobby at this point.”
“Been selling/ buying on Reverb 9 years. Just sold a Used guitar listed it in Excellent ( not Mint condition
Buyer wanted to return because of Not as Described “ as He Says “ it has several scuffs & dings” well that’s is definition of Excellent per Google search
Buyer sent super Zoomed pics yet had to mark it up w/ arrows as you Still couldn’t see them
Reverb told me they couldn’t see them either yet sided w/ buyer because I did not mention them in description ( as they cannot be seen)
I ended up having to give back all monies plus extra for Return Shipping. I’m never doing any biz w/ Reverb again
SELLERS BEWARE”
“Ordered a gross of 144 Fender picks, because the ad said free 2-day shipping. The picks didn't ship for an extra day and were sent by ground (5-6 days). I contacted Reverb to alert them to the false advertising and they were, of course no help. After my item arrives I am done with Reverb (this is one and the last of many customer service issues with Reverb). I'll take my business elsewhere.”
“I've been scammed on Reverb.com twice now. I've been selling on there for 5 years and now it's just gone down hill.
First time I got scammed was for a Minimoog at £5450 and just little over a year I get scammed again for a Gibson Firebird guitar at 3k.
The support is nothing more than zero.
I've been on their automated chat via the site 7 times and wrote 3 emails regarding the current scam I've found myself in.
AVOID!!!”
“The fees are very high and if the buyer decides to return the item it will cost the seller even more. Sell to a local guitar shop for less money. You'd probably break even in the end.”
“Additional shipping charges months after item sold. No communication regarding the charge. Paid the charge and requested my account be closed. Customer concern is totally absent. This bunch needs to be investigated be consumer affairs.”
“My issue is a little different....starting several months ago, my laptop would begin freezing as I go into the Reverb website-still does. As a result, I'm constantly closing my browser, trying to check a listing, often to no avail.
Worst thing is, there is no phone #, the "Chat" bots totally useless, and I can't even find an address. Zero customer support- yes, zero stars if I could. Only hope you have no issues in your transactions.”
“No customer support. Zero support. They screwed up the phone number on an order and wouldnt allow the seller to ship without one. But you cannot edit or alter the order and the money had already been collected. It should be a simple problem to correct but their automated help bot is useless and it is impossible to speak with a human operator. I wish I could give them zero stars.”
“23 hour after creating an acct to sell items i had i received a scam message through their platform which could have went bad had i not cause suspicion of it. Then when i did make a sale, i did not get my money. i still haven’t. The buyer has confirmed received of the item and thanked me for the careful packaging and still get no money. it’s ridiculous to wait this long and to this extent for my money. Not happy at all.”
