I am a retired scientist and for historical reasons - like having a PhD - I was associated with the title of Dr. Surprisingly, RIAS agent advised me that the premium would be increased if I used the title. Is this ignorance or just plain stupidity?

Motor renewal had increased by a third,which I was not happy with but reduced on query,should we have to phone to get a reduction & why was premium increased so dramatically . I have ticked good because got through quickly and received attention.

Phone call went O K. Only thing 1 I haven't received the policy as yet. 2 I asked to have documented the fact that I wanted an extension to number of days away from home ( this is a one off) And was told it couldn't be done but to phone up at the time and it would be added to my policy. Is this normal??

THIS WAS A RENEWAL AND I WAS SENT A QUOTE. AFTER RINGING UP QUERYING WHY THE RENEWAL WAS ALMOST £70 POUNDS MORE THAN LAST YEAR I WAS GIVEN ANOTHER QUOTE WHICH WAS AN INCREASE OF £13. WHY WASNT I GIVEN THIS QUOTE IN THE FIRST PLACE. SURELY I SHOULD BE GIVEN THE BEST PRICE POSSIBLE.

You telephoned me yesterday to say that the NCD evidence I had up loaded on line was not adequate you told me you had sent an e-mail advising me what to do but you haven't. 10 out of 10 for value for money 0 out of 10 for proper communication.

I asked for a quote on line from Rias and the next day received a telephone call from a representative explaining in detail all aspects of the house and contents insurance. On a like for like comparison the Rias one was lower and I accepted the quote.

Good product meets my needs and considerably less expensive than my previous insurance. One minor point would be that a person from Rias was due to ring me as arranged but never did. Luckily my son-in-law was able to complete the process on line for me.
