“My renewal quote was double the premium paid last year. My first enquiry was dealt with very poorly by Joe, who attempted to fob me off with vague general statements as to why this might be, and said that if I looked around for other quotes I would find this very competitive. Before doing the above I tried again several days later and got Rebecca, whose attitude was completely different. She spent time researching and came up with a quote which, although still over £150 more, was not £350 more, and which I accepted.”

“Renewal premium came in too high, 16% up on last year. I searched for an alternative and found an Insurer at £45 lower that RIAS. I rang to see what RIAS would offer and they reduced the annual renewal by £40. Why try to rip me off by charging so high in the first place. Customers would have more confidence with RIAS if they were honest and saved us the hassle of looking around.”

“Always had polite customer service, even if I am feeling cross and fed up with having to wait so long to speak to someone to cancel or renew my policy, (this is one downfall). Cannot comment on how they would deal with any claims, but would like to think it would be quick and straight forward and that the claims line would not take so long to connect to an advisor!”

“I have said in the past that I have never claimed on my policy. I am unsure that this being reflected in the premium. A demonstration of this, in some type of no claims arrangement would be a good and a useful marketing tool perhaps?”

“Having been insured with RIAS for several years now, I have not had any reason to change. However, this year my renewal cost had increased by about 30%. On querying this, it was immediately reduced, giving a quote of £179.40, reflecting a rise of about 5%, this being perfectly acceptabe in the current economic climate.”

“Spoke to a pleasant young man - with a sense of humour - always a plus! He was knowledgeable in terms of answering my questions, but not "pushy" as so many salespeople are. Nice to be speaking to someone in the UK”

“This was a renewal of existing policy. I phoned to advise that the renewal premium was too expensive. The gentleman I spoke to asked me to hold for a minute and then came back with a substantially reduced figure which was accepted.”
