Firstly, I must say our general letter mail deliveries are fine. I have no complaints and applaud the efforts of the personnel involved in maintaining this service with our regular postie carrying out the duties in a friendly and exemplary manner. This is in direct contrast to the parcel delivery service which I can only describe at best as awful, as it was before to the terrible pandemic we are currently in. To begin with the track and trace system does not function in anything approaching a reliable and usable form so the delivery date of a parcel can only to be guessed at! There is no electronic means to request a delivery to be left with a neighbour or in an alternative safe location in the event of nobody being at home, as it can with all other major delivery agencies with approximately the same carriage charges! The only option open being an antiquated system of a form being taken in person to the sorting office which then needs to be repeated if circumstances change. Not a 21st century solution and not a practical option in the current lockdown. When a delivery is made it is invariably the little red card saying, “we tried to make a delivery” and not the parcel itself, even when we are at home and the doorbell functions perfectly!! The other day my wife took less than 10 seconds to answer the door only to be greeted by a rude delivery person already pushing the obligatory red card through the letterbox! 12 seconds and we would again be having to make another unnecessary trip to the sorting office!

Dreadful customer service unwilling to help.. I had to pay some crazy tax for a parcel to be delivered abroad but the parcel is now being redirected to me for no apparent reasons and wanted some information from royal mail but the man over the phone sounded drunk and couldn't be asked so here goes.

Tracking information for our parcel was updated to say delivery was attempted but there was no answer when the postman had not even come on that day. Attempted to call the customer service line, waited on hold for 20 minutes, when the call was picked up the person hung up immediately. Called back and was told the wait would be over 1 hour. Terrible customer service, there is no excuse for this even in a pandemic.

Track and trace is absolutely useless. Several parcels over the last few weeks have been dispatched with tracking numbers. None have tracked and all attempts to track return a result of "An update will only be provided when we attempt to deliver your item". This same result is even obtained after the parcel has been delivered. Ridiculous.

Told there are delays in my area but my postcode not listed their website. A birthday card was posted on 22 Jan first class and arrived on 3 Feb! I went to the sorting office today to collect post I am waiting for but was told to come back tomorrow (which I can't do) as the usual person off today and she is covering and can't help!!! I have a weekly magazine subscription and this will be the third time the issue is late since the beginning of the year. POOR.

My daughter sent 2 parcels over a week ago 1st class from Sudbury to Dovercourt she tried tracking them and the response that came up was when it's out for delivery will then be able to track your parcels,so what's point of sending them 1st class, she was informed it could take another ten days, you would be better sending 2nd class and save yourself some money

Your webpage is utterly useless: Entering the tracking ID here https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item/portal/rm/track#/ only works sporadically. You don't even give ANY information about about the tracking information of the parcel when passed on to another delivery company. This is what happens when you idiots sell yourselves out to the bloody Americans. Shame on you. Shame on the Tories!

Royal mail has plenty of excuses no updates on parcel delivery. No communication with customer. If item is being marked as arrived that means it will arrive the next day.

Privatisation made easy money for the wealthy. This money was not used to upgrade a dated organisation. The Private Sector is unforgiving to companies that fail to move with the times. They go under, plain & simple. Why do we pay extra for "Signed For" items when in my case 10% of the time there is No delivery confirmation on the tracking system. Royal Mail are ripe to be replaced by a competitor... Pull your finger out RM, you are an essential service that is letting down the country.

Click and collect service. The word begins with C and ends in P. Have tried to use this service due to being one of the vulnerable people in lockdown and run an eBay site. This appeared as what looked like a good idea, and certainly has been fraught with failed collections and 35-40 min wait on the VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE and then only to be told to call back the next day and rebook the item for collection the following day, this then making the parcel delivery some three days late!! My feedback is starting to show late deliveries due to their incompetence and bad management. If you offer aa service and don't have the manpower then you need to look at the management team and sort it...this is what a manager does! Am sure Royal Mail does not read this as there are too many BAD reviews and issues, OR, if they do they are not prepared to look at the problems and see what can be done. This is usually a simple logistic problem that can be resolved by looking at the grass roots OR look at the base of the tree and see why it's rotten before it falls over!!!

Pathetic mail service... Been waitng 2 weeks for an eBay order opposed to 3 days using Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For! Customer service is totally useless as they do not respond and don't even provide an email address. Only courier I've had problems with as none of the others seem to be having any difficulties delivering on time.
