“I've found Royal Mail generally quite good, however -
I've arranged a collection 2 days running, and on both occasions my parcel has not been collected.
I get an email when it's past the collection time cut-off saying, "Collection failed". What's going on?”

Abysmal service nationwide. Customer service is also pathetic nationwide.
Is everyone permanently on a tea break? Why does no one answer the phone?

“I arranged the collection of a parcel to be sent tracked, my first time but never again, I waited I emailed them but got my email back because the address for the Royal Mail collection was not recognised ! I replied to their email ! lost my whole day I couldn't do anything because I'd no idea if they would come. Can't they get anything right ! dreadful since it was taken over it was a service to be proud of but now not worth a second glance Mario”
“Appalling service. I had an extremely urgent parcel so I paid the highest price for Special Delivery, guaranteed next day at 1 PM. It did not arrive on the next day. Calling customer services, I waited on hold for a long time, then an entirely unhelpful person told me that actually if you read the small print in the FAQ of the website, next day guaranteed doesn't mean next day guaranteed. My parcel would actually be delivered in 6 days, and there is nothing I can do about it. Dishonest advertising, and a very poor and unintuitive website UI. Will not be using again if I can help it.”
“The world's worst carrier in the world. The Corby lot are dishonest. All of my letters bank statements are opened and delayed. Parcels disappear, damaged or opened. As this is a criminal offence I reported it to the police, but they are corrupt and deny the law stating its OK to open steal and delay my post. What a total disgrace no wonder noone trusts or likes the police. Its hard to tell the good guys from the bad.”

“Always receiving my neighbours parcels for them when they aren't home, yet nothing ever comes for me. It takes over a week for my package to be delivered every time no matter if I purchase next day delivery. Horrible service; strongly recommend using other delivery services whenever possible”
“Another item lost a signed for package ...we all know these items are opened and put in some one pocket ..the customer services are in denial all the time , the royal mail is not fit for purpose,
I have been waiting since 15 March for a signed for package to be delivered , Exeter to Sheffield... at Sheffield the item has been misplaced .. lost ...more like put in some ones pocket ... complained to royal mail and they are so ... so unhelpful ....never again will I use this company ... would rather give my money to a courier service ...at least I know the item would arrive”
“Why on earth do Royal Mail send you a txt to say your parcel is coming today and give you times! Thy never arrive on the day they say, send the txt in the correct day please. I waited in all day and no parcel,so goodness knows when it will arrive. Get yourselves organised.”
“Absolutley disgusting and amatuer company my parcel was said to of been delivered but never was as they had an "agency postperson" on that day even with recipt and numerous visits to the local sorting office in Maidenhead where the staff are equally clueless i was advised to follow the complaint service which basically sent me the most pathetic email saying speak to the sender, the sender spoke to her end got asked to fill out a form and the querie just vanished on an expensive parcel. I will never send anything with this business again one of the most poorly run operations i have ever encountered if i ran my business the way this lot run things i would be lynched no wonder the country is the way it is with institions like this still operating.”

“Awful service! I would advise anyone to avoid using Royal Mail! They lost my parcel and refused to give me any compensation, I had a receipt as proof of return but still nothing! Disgusting, I will avoid using them at all costs from now on!”

“Today I received a message from Royal Mail to say they attempted to collect my parcel but 'there didn't seem to be anyone in when we called'. Except there was someone in. I have been waiting, with the door open, all day and no one came to collect the parcel. Why say that you attempted to collect when you clearly did not?
This is not a unique experience, in fact it has happened EVERY SINGLE TIME a company has chosen to use Royal Mail to deliver my parcels. On each occasion, no one attempted to knock on my door for me to receive my parcel. Instead, a card was left in my mail box. Was it really too much effort to walk a few feet to knock on my door so that I can be handed my parcels in person?”
“Eastbourne. New postman never brings or collects an item . Always ring the door and asking to go outside to entrance. Just because he is lazy !!! I always go to pick up my parcel but it’s his JOB! Disappointed”
“Parcel is still at a depot ,been there for 4 days now and not moved .
Had an email to say will be delivered on Wednesday
That was changed about 1pm to say in transit ,phoned today and was told tgey have thousands of parcels to deliver
And 24 hr and 48 hr can be delivered any time and not in the time frame??? Of 24 hr/ 48 hr
Always thought if you wanted it next day that would be in 24 hrs
But not with royal FAIL disgusting service”
