“£6 for delivery; RM website said I'd have an hour slot and in the literal 10 minutes I was out, with no information available on an hour slot, my package was delivered. Now I have to walk 2 hours to collect it at 7am on Saturday or wait for my important items 'til Tuesday.
If I wanted Tuesday delivery with no inkling of what time of the day my package would be delivered, I'd have chosen the cheaper option; alas, this is not my first taste of RM incompetence and assuredly it won't be my last.”
“Some how managed to deliver my items to the wrong address (a PO Box somewhere according to the tracking data), customer service is non existent, I can’t claim because the items were sent internationally so it’s for the sender to raise a dispute, sender refuses to saying that the items have been delivered (I’ve never had a PO Box).
On the same weekend, Royal Mail also managed to send us a postcard stating that customs charges were due for payment, we paid these only to find out that Royal Mail has sent this postcard to us by error (yet still managed to put our name and address on it)! So we’ve ended up paying customs charges for someone else, we’ve sought a refund and made a complaint, yet we’ve heard nothing back from Royal Mail.
A genuinely good postal service that has gone down hill over the past few years, I will ensure that all items I buy are not delivered via Royal Mail in the future.”
“So i've sent a special delivery parcel to my country back in June 2020,checked the tracking number and it showed the last activity on 11 June and it looks like my parcel miraculously disappeared with no trace since 11 June and noone knows where it is.
What really angered me is that the worker at the post office told me the parcel was insured.
Now when i call royal mail customer service the woman tell me it's not insured anymore because i didn't put the return address on it. What!!!! Are you kidding me??!!!
Can't even make a claim to get my money back for my lost parcel???
Told her that was a very important document in the parcel and she didn't seem to care much about it.
It's outrageous when someone tells you one thing and it's not even applicable for you then they tell you about their t&c change to be convenient for them.
Not even bothering to attempt to investigate where my parcel is,just saying the parcel got lost and there is no one i can speak to nor do something about it.
She said it rarely happends for a parcel to get lost in the post which is not true.So many parcels got lost because they weren't posted in time due to incompetent staff.
Royal mail don't give a monkey about you people.They will do the damage like they did to me and then shift the responsability to someone else.
Asked the woman why there shows no activity after 11 June??She goes quite.. she has no clue what happened to my parcel.

I have been sending International Tracked and Signed letters for years, within the EU. OK, of course this isn’t a courier service so I’m not expecting fast deliveries.
However, at all times they never delivered the item within for example 5 days as they say ( and no it’s not the other country’s mail service faulty, it’s RM that took them a couple of weeks to send it to the other country).
Anyway, I’ve been accepting that for the price I paid, although it’s not what they promise ( don’t make promises RM and don’t give specific timeframes if you can’t adhere to them! ).
What happened recently though is just terrible- totally unacceptable. I sent an item abroad in the EU and the status is still ‘ item is now leaving the UK ‘. This hasn’t changed for more than 5 weeks now!!! Surely, it can’t be leaving the UK for 5 weeks!
Nobody can tell me where my item is. In what country or if they lost it. What’s the whole purpose of providing a tracking service then?!
It’s extremely annoying that they can’t update you. It’s a totally useless system, same as sending the item by normal post. No difference between normal post and tracked and signed option.
Also their customer service is so bad- they can’t help you at all. And their responses are generic- just copy/paste. They don’t even look into you enquiry.
There is no special form for complaints either!
RM sorry; I won’t be using you again- at least for international shipments. You are really unacceptable.
And no, this is nothing to do with the current covid situation. No excuse at all.

“Royal Mail delivered two "guaranteed before 1.00pm" parcels to me today. One of them they left in my shed which they normally do. One they took back to the depot and can't redeliver for another two days. Neither parcel needed a signature.
What kind of idiot would deliver one item and take one back for re-deivery? Unless it was a very disgruntled employee just trying to cause problems. My "guaranteed before 1.00pm" parcel will now take 4 days to reach me.

They used Covid-19 as an excuse for my item not arriving in time when I contacted them, and they didn't actually help me.They just told me to contact the sender and they did nothing more when I asked for help.

“1, Track and sign is a complete waste of time and is open to abuse by dishonest people. (RM staff and customers)
2, First class large letters frequently taking over 2 weeks to deliver in the UK.
3, When you make a claim for lost items you have to give a full run down of how much the item cost you to buy or make. Impossible when you hand make lots of items and buy materials in bulk.
4, If you cannot supply the above information you only get your postage cost back.
5, If you decide to make an official complaint, you get a generic reply that has nothing to do with your specific complaint and it basically tell you to get lost and that no, you cannot escalate higher.
I have a website and I also sell on EBay, unfortunately some customers have no interest in the issues I am having with RM and give you bad feedback which has an impact on sales.
