“**STAY AWAY** An absolute nightmare and incompetent company. Please read for your own benefits.
I made a non-fault claim back in October when a speeding third-party tried to overtake me and hit my car. It took THREE days of my calling Saga to finally record the details of what happened and claim to be raised. After a WHOLE month and 18 back-to-back emails asking silly questions like:
• “how long have you lived at your address”, and
• “Do you take the car to work and where do you park it?”
Saga failed to obtain the liability from the third-party’s insurer. They did not bother to check the CCTV of shops where the accident occurred. After 2 months of constant pointless calls asking to explain how the accident happened OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN, Saga cancelled on me. I found this out when I called for an update and was told today was my last day, when I asked for an explanation, Saga claimed they sent me a letter 10 days prior — BOLD FACED LIE!
Stay away from this company. They might be offering cheaper price and now more than ever everyone is concerned about money but pay the few quid more elsewhere.”
“Have been insured with Saga for the last couple of years , I have full ncb , and have my wife as a named driver .My wife had a accident , in her own car not mine , which is insured with a different company , it was not her fault the other driver admitted it was there fault, and there insurance paid out . Since then my wife has renewed her insurance for another year NO INCREASE IN PREMIUM. Saga however virtually doubled mine . WHY ? its a mystery I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!”

“Avoid this company (together with Acromas, FMG and CHMC) at all costs for motor insurance. If I could give it a -5 score I would do. Reasonable service until you make a claim, then absolutely abysmal. My car was written off on 25 June and I am stiil awaiting financial settlement (circa £30,000) When you finally get through by telephone they say that you cannot be put through. They will ask the appropriate person to ring back. I have phoned on many occasions and no one rings back. Saga Saga get a overall score of over 4 on Trustpilot, but this is far from the truth regarding motor claims. If you drill down in to the the reviews of motor insurance claims only these tell a very different story with a very low average score. Apart from total incompetence, I think that there are significant underlying matters such as resourcing and financial issues, not to mention Saga's much reduced productivity by allowing many staff to work from home
AVOID SAGA MOTOR INSURANCE
Ps the day after I put the above review on Trustpilot, I was actually contacted by Saga and we agreed a valuation for the car written off. That was two weeks ago and I am still awaiting payment. My accident occurred over 4.5 months ago - pathetic”

“i think there a con , dont bother there are plenty of good geniune insurance companys go for them, they advertise free breakdown on compare the market who advertise for them but when you take out the car insurance you dont get it,i wouldnt go with them again or recommend ,”
“If I could give zero stars I would. This is the worst car insurance company that I have had the misfortune to deal with. I made a non-fault claim in May 2022. Saga failed to obtain the liability from the other insurer resulting in me having to pay my excess for the repairs! They lost evidence sent to them. They seem to ignore the fact I had a police car right behind me who provided me with all the details I needed for my claim.
I have not been kept updated from Saga, despite their boasts that they do. Saga have appeared to just not care. I have formally complained to them and have now referred the matter to the Financial Ombudsman (as instructed by their own complaints handler!) So much for caring for older people!!”
