“Sedgwick is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with!! The only 2 words they know is "objective medical". I had 2 Dr offices send in all medical notes, treatment plans etc and Sedgwick still say they need more forms? I showed my Dr this Sedgwick note and they said we sent them all the paperwork we have. Still not good enough for Sedgwick! They are a bunch of robots reading from a script! They seem to have no real interest in making a short term disability claim coherent at all. Out of being off for four months they did not even get one payment correct. A few times there was no money at all $0. Either 2 Dr offices are inept at providing the proper paperwork or Sedgwick is proficient in denying claims regardless of the documentation provided. Needless to say this has been one of the worst experiences of my life. They have proven to be a difficult company to deal with! Simply put "Sedgwick Sucks!!!"”
“We have been dealing with a STD claim since July. We have had denials, appeals, and denials to appeals. Sedgwick as a company has been horrible to deal with. They will not give you extension numbers and every time you call, you get a different representative. All of the representatives have been pretty helpful, but the management staff has been horrible. They hardly ever return calls or give you the information needed. One time our appeal was denied and we didn’t know about it for 2 weeks after the date it was supposed to be settled. And that was only because I pestered them.
STD is a benefit and it doesn’t feel that way when you constantly have to worry about getting paid and fight to be paid. This is in top of the stress you endure during your illness that requires you to be off work.
I wish that SEDGWICK would get a complete overhaul in their practices and treat clients with some respect!!”
“Why do I have to give this so called company 1 star. 0000 rating they are a bunch of con men. Totally unprofessional people who think they have some level of power and use it to probably make their bonus at your expense. This is the first time that I have had a a sizeable insurance claim. Our insurance company put these people in as loss adjusters. Words fail me rude, arrogant, bully, liars & rip off merchants. Avoid if at all possible !!!”
“Awful awful awful experience dealing with incompetence and lack of response at Sedgwick. Adjustors and supervisors do not return calls - it may take months to get a response. Mistakes on legal documents. No oversight by management. It's shocking that any reputable business hires Sedgwick to be their insurance company, because they really are low level.”
“Terri is very combative and unhelpful. She made a point to say she's been doing this for 25 years while yelling over me. Being yelled at by an employee from Sedgwick who is supposed to be helpful was interesting. Best advice i can give is don't get hurt. You ont want ot have to deal with these people.”
“I'm a State Of Minnesota Employee and my personal vehicle was damaged in the employee parking lot by State of Minnesota owned and operated snow removal equipment. The State is self insured and Sedgwick is the claims adjuster. In this case, Sedgwick has not been timely or responsive. Ultimately, I'm confident that the claim will be resolved. But the amount of time and effort on my part is entirely unacceptable.”
“Worst company EVER! I go weeks without a check. My lawyer has had to go so far as to reach out to their lawyer because my case manager NEVER responds to anything. This company is a NIGHTMARE!!”
“This is the biggest laughing clown show of a company you'll ever have the pleasure dealing with, there should be regulation against morons like this who refuse to pay when their client is AT-FAULT in an accident. they play games instead. where is our government help when we need them or do they receive too much lobbying from this company, hmmmm”
“Sedgwick is horrible to deal with They denied my LOA claim saying that I didn't return my doctor's forms by the due date I had returned them a week before the due date When I called they said that they had the forms My claim was still showing closed and denied online so I called again Then it was that the doctor needed to write a letter in addition to the forms (that they provided) that I had turned in My HR manager had to intervene and get the points taken off from when I was out for my surgery”
“Sedgwick employees have not accountability to return calls or answer inquiries once they get your initial statement of the injuries. The rep will tell you that they are your contact but you never hear from them again. Messages and emails are never answered. They make up lies the closer you get to mediation to try to intimidate you and scare you giving false narratives to the opposing attorney meant to damage your credibility with your attorney. I can’t imagine working for such a company that is so crooked. What’s the use in being a workers comp insurance company when you operate solely to ignore and delay treatment? Most of their approved physicians and therapists I encountered are just as crooked. Forget about providing care in the patients best interest. Their focus is on Sedgwick sending them more injured employees to screw over. It’s a corrupt system! Everybody is in it to make money for themselves at the injured workers expense. You can’t win against the system.”
“This company should be shot. They are BUMS! They are LIARS, won't return calls, do dirty work for clients and harm honest working people. They're available to start a claim and afterwards go ghost. This is a cheap employer's GOLDMINE of a company. Now we know how they keep premium cost down. BUMS!!!”
“My rep assigned us Deandre. I have made several attempts to call, message and request a supervisor callback with absolutely no response for 2 weeks. When I finally got a callback from Sedgwick I’m unable to hear what the person is saying so I ask for a callback and of course there has been no returned phone. Clearly they lack the ability to sympathize or empathize with their patients.
I’ve worked with Sedgwick where Sedgwick processed the main short term disability claim and I processed the buy up plans and i experienced the same aggravation of no one responding or taking time to speak to the customer or message the customer and now I’m dealing with the same issues as a patient.
I wish I could give 0 stars because that’s exactly what is deserved.”
“This brilliant company is contracted out by my employer. Despite sending in paperwork from my doctor that met all the legal conditions of temporary medical leave in the state I live in (New Jersey), my medical leave was denied. Now the company I work for is threatening to terminate me. I believe they lost my paperwork because I received multiple letters, past due, instructing me to send in the exact paperwork I had already mailed to them by a date that...had already passed. Great company, absolutely go on medical leave with them if you want to lose your job. Message received: go to work, and let the health department sort out the fallout.”
“Similar to the rest of the reviews, the response time is the worst I have seen with any company. Truthfully, I am not sure how they still have any customers.
What happened:
I tore my ACL and had meniscus damage; it took 3 weeks after the incident to get an MRI. After the MRI, I did not get a response from them for just shy of 2 months to finally respond with acceptable orthopedics to go see which led to surgery after meeting with the doctor then scheduling the surgery. I am still waiting to hear what my options are for Physical Therapy, but we are approaching 4 months. The amount of atrophy in my injured leg is insane; my legs look like they belong to two different people. I will be taking them to court over this.
TLDR;
Do not use sedgwick as your insurance company”
“Sedgwick is an atrocious, joke of an organization! My claims manager was Tamera Chance and she left much to be desired. It’s takes her days to respond even after sending correspondence via emails and phone. Their communication system is laughable. The gather misinformation that makes it appear that a claimant it out of compliance. So it on claimant to keep track of all paper work and follows because they will not maintain good records. It took we to get my claim initiated and get my first payment. I fell behind 2 months on bills waiting for them. I am quoting job because I cannot work for a company who would intrusive their employees’ benefits to this circus of an organization.”
