For two+ years I have cared for my mother. So I would work 12 hours then go care for her another 6 to 8 hours and then return to work. She passed in the beginning of April. My physicians told Sedgwick I needed to be out on short term disability leave and they denied it, not once but twice. First off, the whole time no one contacted me to let me know any updates or anything about my claim. I had to call weekly if not two times a week. Secondly, no one explained that there wre two separate paper works for FMLA and STD. Thirdly, no one also explained that Sedgwick has the final say even after my physician stated I needed to be out. That's a high risk and a month is a long time to live without pay. So what Sedgwick is saying I would have been better off to come in and cry and be bitter and angry towards the patients?. That is what you are saying when you denied me my claim. This short term disability is a joke. And I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience. Ask yourself if you could make it a month without pay? That answer is no. It's okay because I promise to file complaints and many.

Good morning! I have been out of work due to a debilitating painfully disorder called Trigeminal neuralgia. I received my packet from Sedgwick on the 24th of April. I gave it to my health care provider. They faxed it. Sedgwick claimed they never received it. So my Human Resource manager had me to contact my health care provider to have them to fax it to her then she faxed it to Sedgwick. She sent it to Sedgwick and tagged me in the email. I have yet to hear if my claim was approved. It’s still in pending. I have checked the portal they give to check the status of my claims nothing has changed. My case manager will not answer her phone call. Leah. Also when she did call me back one time she was very rude. I am really in need of my short term disability. My claim may even go to long term based on my condition. I need to find a way to get answers

This company is awful to work with. My company uses them and they make it so difficult to get ahold of them. The number they give in their emails goes to some advertisement for life alert and when you finally get past that point of them trying to sell you life alert through a recording for 10 minutes, you don’t get any options to be directed to Sedgwick. I have called just about every number my company has on file for them and no one answers. I have tried every number they provide in their voicemails and the numbers either don’t work, or your routed and hung up on, or you are waiting and you don’t even know if it’s the right department your waiting for and it’s for an hour. I have tried to use the stupid chat and it’s just a robot who can’t help. I am locked out of my account with no way of getting a hold of anyone.

Awful service. I’ve called from attorney office to locate the claim. The manager was absolutely rude and blame me that I’m sounds like a scammer and hang up…

In my opinion Sedgwick is trying to kill people. The only give you 1 month of disability and require people on their death bed to go to doctors every month even though the doctor wants 2 months. And require doctors to fill out a ton of paperwork every time for free. The should be aloud to charge Sedgwick per page

My husband got hurt at work. It took me dealing with the company, yelling getting nasty. Now 4 months later we are NO further than the day he got hurt. FYI don't call them incompetent, they don't like that. But that's all this company is. We are going to call the one news station in Denver. CO. Pretty sure that will get things moving. Just read all the reviews everything they say about deny deny is TRUE.

I was out of work for my mental health my therapist sent documentation however was unable to go into detail due to protecting my hippa rights they never provided me with my short term disability they denied my claim they never answer the phones I’m always chasing down I’ve received an eviction noticed car repoed and my stress is through the roof

Got injured on the job, taken out in an ambulance. Submitted everything. Need surgery for a bucket handle tear of my miniscus and was denied. They tried to say it would have happened eventually due to my age (55) Got a lawyer and went after these crooks. Best advice to anyone dealing with them is get a lawyer right away

Denying someone of coverage for cardio rehab after having a double bypass, then a double clotted bypass, 3 heart attacks, 4 heart catheters. Then having to go to a different hospital for a stent, and ballooned artery. No wonder people lose their jobs. They get the information they say they need then deny you. Sorry but my health is more important than your greed money.

Unorganized. Sends the wrong info to the wrong place. Doesn’t account for all info. Uses “independent reviewers” who don’t conduct complete and thorough reviews for disability claims…..just deny deny deny. Apparently unless you’re suicidal and in a facility, no amount of anxiety, clinical burnout, and depression qualifies as enough of a mental health condition for paid leave. What a joke.

Sedgwick is a joke last year I had to be on bed rest due preeclampsia did not get paid for the time dr put me on bed rest did not get paid because they said that was not a medical reason so claim got denied . Ended up having baby at 34 weeks because my preeclampsia got worse when I delivered baby I qualified for std did not get paid for the 6 weeks I was out did not get time approved while baby was in nicu and I was breastfeeding. Only had time to see my baby in the afternoons and weekends baby ended up having surgery for illeal stenosis they said it was not medical and cannot take time off for that they denied claim again there ridiculous stupid idiot case managers working on stuff . And to begin they never answer the phone and if they do they can only collect information

This company is a JOKE! The website runs you around in circles. Case manager NEVER returns calls and main office number has been disconnected. All the while, I have backed up sewer due to At&t boring through my plumbing lines while laying fiber optics as well as killing my rose bushes and my fresh mulch is Gone.

They stated that my claim was denied because my doctor didn't give them enough information to determine I had a serious enough illness or that I needed days off to get better. They (Sedgewick) sent the forms directly to my doctor. Maybe they forms need to be updated so they can get the information they need to make a fair decision. Im sure the doctor isn't going to supply any information not asked for due to privacy. Is influenza not considered a serious illness? Do you really think people should be going to work with the flu? I asked on the website about my claim why I was denied and when I checked back all communication had disappeared. I was VERY sick and had to worry about whether I was going to have a job or not. PLEASE find a way to improve to actually help people.

Terrible service. They question everything and try to push you back to work way too early. They are doing this to me less than 4 months after major rotator cuff surgery, denying my physical therapy appointments that the doctor prescribed. Also, they were underpaying me even though I was making the state minimum weekly benefit amount! Beware of Nikole in Florida, she is an awful case manager.

I submitted a claim to TRANSDEV NORTH AMERICA. third party SEDGWICK. (DECEMBER 22 2023). never received a notice nor a claim reference. Been trying to contact SEDGWICK. Finally, after a while, I was told that there was no record of my claim. I was injured in an incident that resulted in hospitalization by an employee of TRANSDEV. City attorney / Video (company can proof that - they own it): Neither the company, nor SEDGWICK made any effort to contact me for over 4 months. Insurance.ca.gov. complicated.

These people give the run around. Can’t answer a direct question, it’s just a someone will get back to you. They already made a determination on my claim and never told me, I called a month later to figure out what was going on and they gave some lane excuse of it being a mix up; I signed the forms to get paid out and I don’t get a response to the question I asked which is when it will be paid out, whether it’s through email, the chat or by phone. It’s honestly annoying and tired of waiting.

Could not expect worst service than Sedgwick delivers. They try to act as if there medical review board is better able to determine disability than the treating physician,they will try to frustrate an employee enough to return to work before released from doctor.
