“Minus One star. Rotherham specsavers used to be good. My bus was a no show. Next bus late. I rang specsavers to say why I'm going to be a few minutes late. I ran to the shop. I'm 62 with asthmatic symptoms. Also have autism. The staff woman in the shop didn't give a s**t why I was breathless just kept telling me to re book. My stress levels were causing a meltdown. Someone needs to tell this member of staff that she doesn't actually own the company. Her attitude stank.”
“I've been going back and to, to Mold Specsavers saying my prescription is wrong. Jack the manager didn't believe me, I had an eye test and the optician agreed with him nothing was wrong. I visited another optician last week had an eye test and found my prescription had improved, hence that's why I was sliding my glasses down my nose and my eyes were very irritated wearing my contact lenses.
In the past years I've had congenital fourth nerve palsy successfully corrected at Walton.
Earlier this year Jack blamed my eyesight changing on not having height measurement in my glasses and decided to incorporate this into my lenses. This also I've learnt to be incorrect, then he proceeded to ask me if I was diabetic.”
“Due to vision problems in one eye (to include a shadow), I paid for a consultation during which my eye was scanned. Optometrist informed me that my eye was healthy. I did not feel confident with what I was told so the next day, with my vision still the same as it was, I went to my A&E who referred me to the eye clinic to be seen the next day. The eye clinic sent me straight away to Moorfields hospital where I underwent surgery that day. So much for specsavers diagnosis of my eye being healthy. It was pointless complaining to specsavers. If in doubt about anything with your vision, get a second opinion.”
“Very indepth sight test with full explanations of current and historical condition and the likely cause of my condition. Full marks to N.Lucas (Optometrist)”
“No answer to telephone calls or emails, failing to notify when glasses are ready for collection. Disgraceful service and pathetic apologising shall not be visiting in the future”
“Booked home test.Got date for 4th November 2022 rung up 4 times to say i had not been given a time .Reply was will get a time 3 to 4 days before appointment. Have not heard anything rung again 3rd November to explain still know time and got cut of.Rung back still could not give a time.Really very poor service.”
“In this day and age of rudeness and poor service Poole Specsavers are a shining beacon of friendliness and wonderful customer service. I cannot praise all the staff enough for their dedication and attention to detail!! Particular thanks to Libby who was so friendly and helpful.”
“Test at the branch was ok although some of the staff not too friendly. I was told my glasses are going to be ready by Monday but still no sign of them. Apparently they haven't arrived yet , which is 8 working days after my visit. I wonder if they were even ordered. Lack of empathy towards customers is beyond me. You might wait for your glasses for ages without a word from Do yourself a favour and avoid this branch as it's such a waste of time, money and your energy”
“Arrived for contact lenses check up today - 15 minutes late - went into room for test - the guy asked 'are you new to contact lenses' I've been wearing them for 45 years! Then he cannot access me online - waited another 10 minutes. Decided to leave as was fuming - went to desk 6 people huddled round chatting whilst one on the phone - I said I was unhappy and leaving to which the lady at the desk said ' well he is a trainee'. I told them the last few times I have been with specsaver for my lenses it has been a farce - issued wrong prescriptions as no one updated the screen. For my glasses I had a good experience. Lenses rubbish experience and have now booked in at VISION EXPRESS .”
“I had my glasses done 1 month ago. The temlpes fell off and had to go back to store to get them fixed. The employees told thus is only a little thing. I wouldn't say so as the fell apart right after I bought them. I also asked to check the lenses as I do not think they are right for me. The employees were looking at me as if I were going something wrong. At the end they said my glasses are perfect and don't need changing. I certainly wont buy from them again. Go to an eye doctor and pay the price for a better check, then go to another company to get proper glasses. You are likely to end up wirh good glasses. Highly dissatisfied.”
“Excellent service from Basingstoke was seen to by Shabana - what a helpful lady and a credit to the company - glasses arrived less than seven days later and are perfect and beat my expectation, thank you SS Basingstoke, thank you Shabana.”
“Yesterday I ordered two pairs of sunglasses from Specsavers Didcot. I wanted them to be polarised and photochromic and was told, in no uncertain terms that no company produced this combination. This is not true as Transition Lenses would have been suitable. I paid £330. At least 2 other companies could have satisfied my requirements. Specsavers staff should not lie to customers just to make a sale.”
“Attended for optician assessment 11/10/22. Greeted into this clean tidy store by Faizaah the sales assistant who was so friendly. Seen by Mr Ibrahim Kadir OPcDM the optician who was so thorough, informative & pleasant. I felt a very professional exam had been done. So happy we’ve got this fantastic store in Cleckheaton.”
“I was seen promptly on my arrival in the store in Hereford and my initial pressure test was performed professionally , however the ophthalmologist who conducted my sight test was very flippant and asked inappropriate questions and joked over inappropriate subjects and also discussed his personal health issues .
This was in no sense a professional eye examination .
I realise that this was an attempt to make conversation but this needs to be toned down so that it isn’t personal and patronizing .
The person who then dealt with my varifocal adjustments and measurements was a pleasure to interact with, very kind , caring and adhered to professional barriers .”
“The Telford store made me feel dirty and infectious, and staff were unhelpful due to company protocol and policy. In order to get to the Telford branch you have to walk through a busy shopping centre where everyone is interacting normally without masks and getting on with life. Less than 2ft away through the shop door..and it's like going back 2 years to a nationwide lock down! Queuing to get in..People bathing in hand sanitiser..and masks everywhere.
I was "told" by 2 members of staff to "put on a mask", the first employee I told I was medically exempt.. I was irritated at being demanded a second time..so I simply said "NO" to the second employee, who in turn huffed at me and walked off.
Specsavers is the ONLY shop in the entire town centre to behave like they have an infectious disease in store.
Instead of making me feel "safe", it made me feel sick.
Then despite my son having worn contact lenses in another store, and gone through a trial period..they refused to give us his lenses, because he didn't repeat the process in store again.
I have now had to re-book yet another appointment to return to the "house that covid built" again.”
