Original visit for test and ordering new galsses. Good, very good in fact. Hence the stars. 3 1/2 weeks later no glasses no contact. Won't accept phone calls. Just a void. I have used Specsavers many times in the past. Doubt I will be going back.

Having avoided large chains all my working life , I thought I would give specsavers a try as the prices seemed competitive.. I should have gone to my independent shop , Specsavers staff lacked any charm whatsoever and were all in a rush , I felt like I was being processed. Once home got a rushed and garbled message which I had to listen too 3 times to understand . I should have gone with my gut instinct and gone to my regular chap who was charming calm and professional .

The optician was very thorough but said my glasses were in need of a slight strengthening. The staff showed me their range and I picked 2 pairs for £69 as I have always done, only to be told that as I have 2 different prescriptions(1 distance and 1 reading) I would have to pay £69 each.I have never had this happen before and have been going to Secsavers(several branches but now at Sheringham)for over 25 years.I then chose a cheaper reader, not the one I would have preferred.I did get a small discount but would have rather have had the first ones I chose. This may seem petty to some but as a pensioner I count my pennies. The staff were adamant the prices were correct but on the stands housing the glasses said in bold type that one could purchase 2 pairs for £69 and there was no indication that distance and readers were to be treated differently.

I bought my Glasses in November 2021 not Happy with them as the prescription was blurred kept managing with them it will get better I thought. Only having them 5 months thought they could be changed Under Guarantee. They cost me £300pound only to be told . Sorry the 100 days have gone by. So said only wont new lenses put in £169 pound later for the lenses. It seemed all they wanted was the money . I am a pensioner feel I have been ripped off.

Hounslow branch used to be excellent but last manager retired. Excellent and friendly he was. Since then it looks like new management in and it’s gone downhill Gave me the wrong prescription last year which I queried 3 times then had to pay additional £100 on top of £300. New glasses needed now and it’s just money money money it seems. £300 for one pair. What!!! £137 for 2 pairs online. This will be the last time spec savers. The trust in your staff has gone. Massive trust issue here John

I give this 2 stars went for an eye test yesterday. The part you have to read the letters I read them absolutely fine until I got to the bottom line. Then ask to read another line of letters than ask to read the very smallest letters that look like a dot. I read the rest of the lines okay this is were I think I was being conned going to find out later. I was hoping not having to buy 2 pairs of glasses. I was shown 2 for 1 but I need readers and driving. My long distance didn’t have much change since last test. I was told that I’ve got to pay a further 35 pound as it’s different lenses. I have anti glare that’s another 35 pound. The lady said to me oh you bought prescription sunglasses last year also you had them polarise. As my long distance hasn’t really changed at all I replied back I’m not buying sunglasses. The company wants to put extra prices on customers . This is how they make money in future I be looking else where we’re I won’t feel as they trying to sell me products

Customer service in Kingaroy by one individual. Because others were ok I’m thinking she may be the manager or owner or Owners wife. She hurried me with deciding. Tried to make me feel silly by wanting to take my time deciding on frames / I mean I wasn’t bothering anyone, she just wanted to leave. She never called me back when I rang and asked for the third pair of frames. It left me in a situation where I can’t get to a store to buy the needed third pair and as she never got back to me , I am totally unable to do anything. Very Very unsatisfied and disappointed.

Really annoying last year they changed my prescription on lenses so had to also change glasses and this year have been told they were to strong. They are going to trial new lenses because eyes have deteriorated, they came in last week but wrong fit and one not strong enough so they came in yesterday 21st December but no one there now all finished for the holidays so unable to do a fit before the new year. Now have no glasses or lenses of right prescription. But receptionist said wear what I have totally wrong prescription . So a great Christmas with no proper glasses or lenses. Thankyou specsavers of YEOVIL

Very good eye test but disappointed at your confusing pricing. I thought I had purchased a 2for1 new frames and reglazing of own prescription sunglasses. £197 later, I find I have 1 pair of glasses with something called “super clean” (cancels out 2:1 offer apparently) and polarised sunglasses. My fault, but I do feel I was upsold a confusing offer by an assistant who, though very nice, mumbled her explanation of pricing through her mask. No more Specsavers for me.

Been a Specsavers customer at least 15 years. Never again, the quality of both pairs (same) glasses was total garbage. Both pairs are literally falling apart (lenses falling out of mounts/nose pads disintegrating, one pair I lost the screw whilst lens dropped out and it's now zip tied🤦) after less than 10 months, they weren't cheap either (wide varifocals) If they see me again it will only be for an eye test. The staff were also extremely jumped up, however the actual optician was nice.

Good rye slightest spoilt by very poor advice from dispensing St. Bought a pair of large lens glasses and was advised to pay an extra £55.0 for thinner lens. When they arrived they were like pebbles. I was then told it doesn't wfor long sight unless have them double thinned - yes you guessed it, more money. What a rip

Failed to coat photochromatic. Glasses left for updated prescription; collected glasses did not have original feature. Not a happy bunny. Be back into Guildford store tomorrow with request for exorbitant refund.

My wife needed her glasses adjusting as they were slipping down and weren't correctly aligned. After 10 visits to the two branches operated by the same management in Durham they are still not correct. They still slip down and the nosepieces are misaligned. She has finally had enough of them messing about and will either scrap these glasses, at a cost of several hundred pounds, or seek out another optician to do the job properly, paying if necessary. The staff are pleasant and try to be helpful but the fact that they cannot get simple things right after so many attempts makes you wonder just how good Specsavers are with more complex requirements, such as actually providing an accurate prescription and manufacturing the lenses. It gives the very strong impression that the training of the front of house staff is inadequate, or that the staff do not have the necessary expertise to do the job, amounting to what regretfully can only be described as incompetence. Either way it is not acceptable. We have both been customers for very many years and have seen things deteriorate gradually over that time. It has come to the point, which in reality was obvious in the business model the whole time, that Specsavers is less an optician than a production line to upsell expensive frames and complicated options that boost the entry price. The staff often seem unable to explain clearly what those options are, their relative benefits, and the consequent cost. The special offers are no more than an enticement, a loss leader in effect, the relatively low starting price quickly being negated by upgrades. The contrast between the somewhat frenzied atmosphere in an often crowded shop and the calm measured pace of an independent is very marked. We have been put off by this experience and are very unlikely to use Specsavers in future. If Specsavers respond to this, addressing the issues raised, I will be very surprised. They seem not to to want to answer questions in a public forum, but to hide away behind a request to fill in their web form. The information is already here and does not need to be repeated for an answer to be provided. Transparency, like their opaque pricing, is not one of their strengths, a singular failing when vision is your business.

I’ve been going to Specsavers for years . I always eat a very thorough examination . Last tie I went , the young Optometrist told me I had dry macula degeneration in both eyes and bombarded me Ruth the right diet information and pills to take to help halt the disease . He showed me I had it last year , but no one told me !! . I was livid with Specsavers. Then even more so when I was told I’ve had it for 10 years . They’ve know all this while and kept it from me , because. , I was told , it hadn’t affected my eyesight !??? . Well it has , and my close up vision has deteriorated a lot . I am furious with this company . I could have been doing g something positive for 10 years !!! . They obviously didn’t care enough about me to tell me . I will never ever go back . I need to find an optician I can trust .

visited shop in Bexleyheath and was told by a very rude women to get out of shop and phone for appointment - hey there was no one around me and I was not aware of two in the shop at one time ridiculous you would think people were dropping like flies er not quite so now people are still being cautious but it is a bit extreme in specsavers, well Matt Hancock has shown the way.

Have had many new mens spectacles over the years with Specsavers and used to get wider frame with larger lens, now discontinued, the choice of frames in the mens section inc "designer"frames are all small meaning that the arms are pushed out and do not last long (my last 4 pairs from Specsavers have all broken arms). I stated this to the staff member with me and they agreed they should be wider. Does Specsavers think all male customers have a small face ?. I went for eye tests 24/06 and now having only 1 pair, with 1 arm held on by sellotape, I had to order new glasses even knowing they are not any good and won't last long. As a result In the future I have no choice but to go elsewhere

Rechargeable Hearing aids cost me nearly £2000 a pair. One failed a few weeks after fitting. At the time they had ordered some replacements in a different colour so I had replacement aids immediately. Now, a few months later one aid died when I removed it from the overnight charge. I contacted the department by email with no response, so I travelled into Brighton to hopefully get the aid repaired. I was told to leave then and come back later so I returned about 3 hours later to be told that they had not been looked at. I had to leave them with the department. I was telephoned later to be told that they had to be sent back for repair and would not be returned before 2 weeks. Fortunately I still have my NHS pair, but the service is appalling. Spare aids should be kept in stock so that if a catastrophic failure does occur a replacement one can be programmed very quickly. Specsavers value of service is abysmal. Very angry. I would not recommend Specsavers to anyone.

Bought my fourth pair from them and decided it is not me. The frames fall apart within months as if they came in a Christmas Cracker.
