Half of the items I ordered on line were cancelled. No email, no explanation. Perhaps Stein Mart shouldn't continue with their online business. Learn from Amazon! This happened before and now I'm done.

Waste of time to order anything online. I ordered one purse and found out the next day that the order got cancelled. No explanation given as to why. I then ordered a different purse and also a tote bag. I tried to check the status of my order for several days after ordering but no details could be given so obviously it hadn't shipped. I was notified exactly ONE WEEK later that the order was cancelled! Again no explanation given. I called to find out why and was told they were out of stock. I won't be ordering from this company again. I have no confidence that anything that appears to be available online is actually in stock and no confidence in timeliness with orders. I had also followed the "contact us" line from their website after both orders asking for an updated but never heard anything back either time. Terrible customer service.

I had a bad experience at stein mart trying to return a couple items. I was told by a receipt from the cash register that I have returned a lot of items in the past so I was declined returning items for 180 days. That is absurd

I just received the fall sale book in the mail and I love the new styles and clothing. However I am not a fan of the Bonus Time Bonus card. I would much rather get a 10.00 off coupon and be done with it. I would shop with a coupon before I use the Bonus Card. I guess I will wait to shop to see if I get a 10.00 off coupon.

My bank account was compromised and seemed to be used to make a purchase or launder with this company, something pretty odd.

Do not order or try to order anything at this comany. It seems like "bait & switch" to me. I tried to place an order. It would not accept any ofy phone #. CS rep. tried to sell me an item I did not need or want, had to hang up on her, she was VERY RUDE!!!!!!!!!!like a door to door salesman with foot in door. I could go on with the next call, but it would be a waste of my time. DO NOT TRY TO SHOP ONLINE!!#!!!!!!

Since after Christmas, I have not shopped at Stein Mart in Kenner since one of my mirrors that I purchased was switched out of my box. I had a store employee open the box to make sure it was a rose colored mirror, which was difficult to open and then put back. After Christmas when the present was opened, apparently one of the customers switched out my rose colored mirror for a silver one. I purchased 2 mirrors and the item numbers do not match. Listen up everyone, that is theft. I have yet to be contacted by Stein Mart. I contacted Synchrony Bank, e-mailed proof of what I purchased as requested by them, gave them my receipt number and told them I was closing my account with Stein Mart as soon as my credit card is paid off. This mirror was on the counter with store employees. I had other items I was purchasing and I noticed immediately when returning that my items had been shifted around.

I made 4 different orders every single time I didn't receive the item that I wanted. And returning them was a total disaster. They said they would give me a full refund but charged return fees every time. When I called them about it they claimed the return fee was refunded to me separately but nothing showed on the bank statement. If you do not want to lose your money, time, and hurt your nerves please forget about this company and their website.

so, I think it was around the holidays, I took advantage of the 'open an account and get a discount'; so I did for some pj's . 5-6 months later I receive a past due notice from Synchrony bank for a high amount: turns out SteinMart had the wrong address so I never received a bill and the small purchase totally slipped my mind. The large amount I contested, today I receive a notice from Syncrony bank that my dispute is not agreed to because I gave my card to a 3rd party (!?). I call explaining that accusation is offensive as I do not give credit cards to another person and in fact had destroyed the card. SO! what is the amount; okay, how do I pay. they tell me that today it was turned over to a collection agency because I did not pay this lesser amoutn and again I remind them, I need a bill. NOW I have to deal with a collection agency. Synchrony Bank who holds Steinmart accounts could have sent me a corrected bill. Never again will I go to Steinmart. Now I have to deal with a collection agency on what has been my stellar credit record.

4-word summary: DO NOT ORDER ONLINE I purchased six quilts online (two vanilla ice Windsor Paisley Stitched twin quilts, two grey Anderson Geo Paisley twin quilts, and two grey Anderson Geo Paisley full quilts). Overall, the items were fine for the price. However, one quilt (Windsor Paisley) came with a mar that I noticed the moment I started to unpackage it. The mar was dark and the fabric looked worn in that spot. The vanilla ice color is also more of a cream than the picture. Of the two quilts packed as "full," one was actually a twin. Both of these items were probably previously returned items. Also, the Geo Paisley twin quilts have not arrived despite being expected 2 days ago. I don't think they've even been shipped because I have not been given a tracking #. I asked if I could return or exchange the damaged item. Here is the email response I received: "Please accept our apologies as we are unable to facilitate exchanges through our online store. However, you may return your item(s) in accordance with our return policy for a credit to your original form of payment. You are also welcome to make your return in any Stein Mart store. You will need to place a new order to receive the size or color you need." I will have to make a special two-hour trip to return all items (after the twin quilts arrive). Also, I tried to leave a fair review (3 of 5 stars) online but was told the page no longer existed each time I tried to submit a review. It may be a technical error, but I suspect there is a reason that the reviews for these quilts were so high...

The # 1 star rating is generous for Stein Mart ONLINE. The store in Lexington is very good. Why a 1 star for online. Within 2 months or less online has messed up twice-actually 3 times. 1st time I did NOT get my full order which was resolved. Everyone/ company can make a mistake so I ordered another time as generally like Stein Mart clothes. Well I ORDERED a Como Vintage shirt & REALLY LIKED. So I again tried to order same Como Vintage BUT in different color. WAS very clear about same shirt but different color (not even close in color) has had to talk to people online as online refuses to accept my cell #. I received SAME Como black & white shirt. Called again & found out that I was to take shirt back to store which I did. Person said they would write note that I was to get sale price $12.40 vs $22 which I was charged. Remember it is Stein Mart online fault for sending me identical shirt. Told would resend but for price of $22. Said no as told get sale price. Also lose out as charge shipping. Spent 2 hours at least talking to online persons. Needless to say I will NEVER SHOP ONLINE Stein Mart AGAIN.

Ordered many items online. Went to the store to return 2 of the items and was told they would not take the items back because of my return history. I called customer service and was treated rudely. I called back and asked for a supervisor and was connected to her voicemail. She has not called back. What kind of crazy policy is this? If I couldn’t return I should have been warned when I placed the order!!

I have been a faithful shopper for years at Stein Mart in Jacksonville, FL. But, the last two years I go to the store and the clothes are made in China and the styles and prints are hideous. The clothes from China does not fit right and are very cheaply made. Stein Mart use to have classy clothes and still has a few name brands but for the most the clothes look like the decorations in Disney. I know sales have dropped and I know I don’t buy like I did and I want stein Mart to stay around. But, I feel it’s just a matter of time before stein mart will be no more because when I go in there the store is empty. Go back 4 years ago and bring back the merchandise you had then. I hope you take this in the spirit it was intended. I want you to stay but if something doesn’t change soon I will not continue shopping there. Thank you

DON'T ORDER FROM STEINMART.COM !!!! BAD, BAD, BAD! When you call the 1-888-STEINMART number, they divert you to TONS of voice ads! Terrible! I got re-routed to their credit card department, and they kept asking me for my Social Security number! WTF!?! Then the credit card lady was RUDE to me, and basically implying it was my fault I got re-routed to her! I only ordered a few items and was checking on a return. I had to call back 3 times to finally get to a real person (who was actually helpful). I told her she was great, but the phone voice ads and phone tree are a NIGHTMARE! Please don't order from them until they fix this.

I ordered a jumpsuit online and paid $57.15 for the order including shipping. I was refunded $41.02, they charged me $7.50 because I returned it and of course they deducted the shipping. Never will shop with Stein Mart again.

Jackson MS, Frontage rd They just confused folk. Yesterday they put signs "Take an extra 50% off" but they didn't take 50% off , they told it's a final price:-) on tags. A question: What for did they put a signs "Take an extra 50% off" What for do they deceive people?

I shop Stein Mart quite frequently. I tried to order and send items to my Air Force son. I couldn’t get the shipping to take the address online, so I called Customer Service and got a very rude woman- I ask do they ship APO and she said “No you can’t do that online”. So I said “do you ship APO placing order on phone?” Got a very rude “no we don’t do that”. SO... if you family is in the Military... THEY DON’T SHIP APO!!!

BEWARE STEIN MART SHOPPERS!! Store limits how many returns you are allowed in a short period of time. You will be given a warning or a denial! My returns were within the timeframe and a major credit card was used. If you change your mind and have too many returns, you will be denied and unfortunately stuck with your purchases. My receipt did not say FINAL SALE!! It’s all about Mr. Stein making money and not about customer service! I will continue to be a loyal Macy’s customer where customer service is always first with easy returns. Beware SteinMart Shoppers, be sure of your purchases or you will be sorry!!
