Absolute horrible shipping service pure lies!! You WILL NOT get your order on time. They say they use UPS but they pass it off to the USPS and your order will be everywhere EXCEPT where it is to be delivered. Do NOT order from here!

I ordered Erika capri in what they call a cherry red. What I received was like a Salmon color. I called the company to let them know the color is not what it says it is. I really don’t think the person I talked to even cared. I like the color I received but really wanted the red one, also did not receive a return label. I told the person I was not going to return it , he then asks me if I wanted a return slip. Guess he had other things on his mind or he forgot I said I was not going to return it? I will not be buying from them again.

Wrong color dresss,I have to pay $7.50 to send the wrong color...their mistake. Wish I had read the reviews before I bought online

I placed an online order...received confirmation and then five minutes later received a CANCELLATION of one of the items. I needed that item for a bedroom. It was like ordering a pair of shoes and having them cancel the right shoe but sending me the left shoe. I immediately got on the phone and waited for a service rep and the manager who told me that I could not cancel the order...that it was already processing. It is ok for THEM to cancel but not the customer. I was told to return the items when the stores reopen. What a waste of time and money for Sten Mart. They will pay for the shipping and I will have to spend time returning it when it could have easily been corrected WITHIN minutes of their cancelling me. I will not use them again. I would be hesitant about ordering online.

Your reviews say it all .... I look for this company to be out of business soon. It has blown my mind that a company can actually treat paying costumers this way and get away with it. It should be illegal .

I should have read this reviews before I placed my order on line. I ordered 2 items, 1 was ok the second was not what I ordered, I called to see if I could purchase the item I originally ordered, they placed the order, they charge me again, I was on the phone 25 minutes and when they sent me the confirmation to the new order, it was again the same item I have and I want to return, I immediately reply to the email, to please either send me what I ordered or cancel the order, I sent 3 or 4 emails, they were completely ignored and today I got the email that the wrong item was shipped again! I learned my lesson, will never, ever, ever order steinmart online again. I shop online a lot, I never had an experience like this, shame on you Stein mart.

Ive shopped at Stein Mart for years. I have no issue with product or instore. Just as with individuals, stressfull circumstances expose who you are as an organization. I made an online purchase and would normally have the abilty to exchange or return in store. Currently you have return items at your own expense plus pay a $7.50 return fee, then repurchase with an additional shipping fee if the purchase doesn't meet a minimum. I think this is outrageous. I spoke to several people in customer service including customer service manager Thomas 71035. They advised me that this was company policy and I could take it or leave it. If this is how you treat your loyal customers who has shopped with you more than 25 years. Thanks, you may need to follow the example of Nordstrom Rack. They are a lot more flexible under extraordinary conditions.

I am a fairly new customer online but I sure won't be for long. Recently ordered a maxi dress that was on sale. The dress came two days ago, correct dress, correct size, wrong color. Called immediately, questioning the color to say the least... The kind gentleman at customer service did verify that I had ordered a orangish/deep coral color unlike the one I received which looks closer to a dijon mustard, although these were not the exact color names... So at this point the dress in size L is sold out!! Well, that being said it leaves me high and dry with no Easter dress. Don't trust their order processing department at all.

On line return process is the absolute worst! UPS delivered my order to a different address and I had to file a claim with both UPS and Stein MART. Its been 3 weeks and I still do not have my pants OR my money back!!! Now I remember why I always shop st Nordstrom and Norstroms Rack!! I work 6 days a week and do not have time to be on the phone with 2 different companies and 4.5 hours to get a return processed!

Returned a dress and they charged me $7.50 for the return label they include in the bag AND $7.99 return shipping..... wtf! Never again will I order from here.

Greed during Pandemic... I contacted Customer Service In writing to request 2 changes to the Refund Policy now that we are in the height of this Pandemic. I asked that (1) SteinMart EXTEND the period that they will allow returns once the stores become fully operational (not a mere 30 days) and (2) SteinMart should completely revoke ANY charge when an item is returned in the mail (currently $7.50). SteinMart completely ignored my requests... they did not provide any response. So, I submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. SteinMart did not address either issue. They basically told BBB that each Return would be handled on a “Case-by-Case” basis. Here is the response I just sent to the BBB/SteinMart... “ This is totally unacceptable. You did NOT address my requests... you totally ignored the request about revoking the $7.50 charge each time an item is returned by mail. It could be months ... months ... before your stores are open. Your customers want the option to drop these items in the mail NOW.. we need the refunds NOW when so many of us are out of work ... and we don’t need to be charged $7.50 or any other amount. Stein Mart does not want to make these refunds so they are making it as difficult as possible. Your lack of response to 2 very legitimate requests makes it clear that you don’t care about your customers, and I intend to make this known to as many people as possible. The true nature of a company becomes very evident in times of crisis.”

I have a feeling that this company is so money hungry that they are not going to pay their employees during this pandemic. I hope they find it in there hearts if they have any to have pitty on their hard working employees. I’ve been a steinmart shopper for over 16 years and it’s definitely a difference in the employees. Same people but different attitudes. Everyone looks so on edge, so unhappy, it’s almost like someone died when you walk in. I remember back in the days all of them was always smiling, eager to work and the merchandise was absolutely amazing. To all the steinmart employees just remember their is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

This review is for an instore experience. I am only giving this a one star because I have to. I would give it a negative score, if I could. I have been shopping at Stein Mart for several years, getting most of my work clothes there. They have the brands I have been wearing for years. Two nights ago, I went to my local Stein Mart near closing time...bought two dresses and one shirt. I got home and the shirt wasn't in the bag. I went back last night with my receipt and told the asst mgr that I didn't get my shirt. He called the GM and said I couldn't get my shirt until "they looked at the video"....like I was a criminal and lying! GM told me it was for "training".....whatever, so I paid $45 for a shirt that I never got, so they can train their employees through video. They are the most classless people that call themselves managers. I would be embarrassed to even associate with this company, knowing how they treat people, much less work for them. I will not be back and have been singing my experience to everyone....it could have gone in a different direction but I guess they don't care about keeping customers. I will NEVER go back into a Stein Mart. btw, this store is in Murfreesboro, TN. Worst place ever.

I will never buy anything from them online again. The return policies are antiquated and difficult. You have to pay to return online purchases if you cannot return to a store. Also, they require the package to be insured. There is a $7.50 charge to use the label they attach to the invoice which is only a simple address label. You can handwrite the label and save the money. I called customer service and the clerk kept interrupting me and even started yelling.

I have to say that I'm very disappointed with Stein Mart on submitting my name to the (TRE=The Retail Equation: works with retailers to warn consumers when their return transactions violate store policies or mimic excessive return behaviors. Sometimes the transaction is stopped). On your receipt you says I have 60 days to return if I'm not satisfied with your merchandise. Nothing about multiples returns. You assumed that I was returning merchandise in trying to defraud you. You need to look at the whole picture. First it was very embarrassing to be confronted at the store with other customers hearing that I could not return my merchandise and the Store Supervisor looking at me like I'm a crook. #1: If your dressing rooms were clean and had doors that lock then I would not have to bring my clothes home to try on. #2: I don't like men to be able to sit in the dressing room area while trying on items. Yes, I did order merchandise on line because you did not have my size in store. I returned that also, because I did not like how it looked once I received it. Also, since I have 60 days to return merchandise if I find something at a lower price I will return it and rebuy it. I have an account with you and very seldom does Stein Mart have couples to use with sale items. What good is it having an account if you don't offer coupons to use when shopping like Kohl's. I have request a copy of my report. I will no longer be shopping at Stein Mart.

I had a glass bottle with silicone cover that I broke and was so excited to find that Stein Mart had the same bottle available online. Got a notification that the item shipped on Feb. 3 and received A UPS tracking#. Over a week later the tracking still only shows that a label was created. I don't believe they ever shipped it but they say I have to file a claim and it will take up to 30 days to refund me. Now based on the other reviews I know I can't trust this company. So disappointed! Bad first experience.

2/9/2020 I have been shopping at SteinMart for awhile. The accessory department used to be so organized and clean but the last few weeks that I have shopped there it has been a mess. I want it to be like to used to be, I don't know what happened to it but it seems like there is someone new working in that area and they don't know what they are doing. I'm not going to shop there if this continues. And I will be sure to let my friends know this too. Please train your associate better. Wichita KS

Last week I bought a lot of items online. Today it was the 3rd. time, that I got an email, my order was cancelled. I called "customer service" and they told me, the items were sold out. I will not order anything from them anymore as well as the employees at Steinmart here in Fort Myers, FL, are often very rude and just care to talk to their colleagus instead of taking care of customers.

In October I was using my Steinmart card to pay for my purchases. The clerk said "your card needs to be updated, may I have your drivers license" It had been a while since I had used it so really did not think much of this and complied. She handed me back my card and said this is" no good, don't use it any more". Long story short, there was nothing wrong with the first card-she opened a second account without my knowlege or consent. I have been fighting with them since I came to and realized what happened. The "bank" has closed the account and contacted the credit companines, sent a letter stating this has been done as I asked. The store itself, not so helpful. Actually getting to speak with someone from Steinmart itself was a challenge. One person has tried to help but even she is frustrated with the response from the offending store. I did finally get a call from the store manager. She said that it must have been a training error, what!!! This was deliberate, not poor training. She offered a gift card, I said I was not doing this for money, I wanted an explanation and apology . She asked for my address and again I said if she chose to send it fine but I wanted the explanation and apology. Two weeks later the "card" arrived, in a hand written envelope, no note of apology, just a $30.00 gift card. At this point I will be returning the card to this store manager as my time, energy and credit issues make this a complete insult.
