“Stay away, far away from this web-based site. It is NOT the same as the brick-and-mortar Stein Mart stores that closed in 2020. I was excited to see their new online store and ordered a dress. The item stayed in “cart” for a week and emails to employees reassured me it would be shipped in a few days. Never did. But my credit card was immediately charged. There is no option to delete your purchase that I could find and after seeing many other bad reviews online I sent a final email to them to cancel my order—no response this time. My credit card company is handling it as It is very very rare for me to dispute a purchase as I am normally much more cautious. This “looked like” the same store, same logo, etc., but it is not. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.”

“This stuff is not Stein mart. They have truly messed up selling to this company. Nothing but bad reviews. Stein mart was the only place I did my shopping. I hate this online mess.”

“don't l waste your time and $ - they are NOTHING like the brick and mortar store ! I returned my order (which in itself was a PITA) and they would not refund my money. They even stated they advised me of their policy after I wanted to return it. They got their merchandise and my $80 bucks. Lesson learned!”

“Terrible customer service. I never received my merchandise and had the same scripted response from some company outsourced. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY with Stein Mart.”

“Never shipped product I ordered on-line. I called and e-mailed and all I got was the run around. They offered me on-line credit and I stated I wanted a full refund and again they ignored me. I called my credit card and that was the only way I received my refund. Awful on-line business. They should be shut down for fraud.”

“Got a dress it's horrible quality and you can't get your money back says store credit there's not a store 😒 I'm so Sad and mad took my money DONT ORDER ONLINE. SH .oh you have to pay for the return shipping I pay 65.00 😒”

“Overpriced inferior products. My (supposedly) all leather purse ripped after just a handful of uses. My otherwise pristine bag is now garbage. Customer service sticks to the script further ensuring you will not get your issue resolved or customer satisfaction of any kind. They will not stand behind the merchandise they sell. Save your money, shop elsewhere.”

“Many of the reviews are exactly what I myself experienced . I canceled the order several times before it was shipped as they did not give me the “pop up “ ads 15% discount yet they shipped it anyway . As they ran me in circles for 3 months for a refund they wanted a screen shot of the ad and the discount code but to their surprise I had the screen shot but they still refused to refund my money . The item was $249 and I actually spent more than that on phone call overages as my plan only has 700 minutes a month . At this point it was the principle so I did it anyway . They lied to my credit card company that the item was delivered but I had refused delivery from Fed X and I even had the signature of the employee who signed for it !!! So now they had my $249 and got their product back to resell . I learned the credit card company no longer has your back even with written proof . They offered a store credit but as they have filed for bankruptcy you may never get the chance to use it . You are warned , you will get ripped off and will frustrate yourself for months trying to right the wrong from these thieves .”

“Simply put, steinmart SUCKS! I returned an item and it's been a nightmare. Customer service is rude and talk over you. Never got my money back. Basically they are thieves. I hope they shut down completely.”

“Terrible customer service...was supposed to have a 15% discount per coupon that popped up at time of purchase- asking me to sign up for texts- email. I did - ordered and discount was not applied. Have been going back & forth with customer service now for weeks. They want a screenshot of the coupon- which disappears as you order. It's truly a scam! Order anywhere else!!!!”

“A total ripoff! I agree with all The recent reviews. I’m having a bad experience with Them, charged my credit card For items I have not received I canceled my orders said they would refund back to my Credit card. The person on the phone didn’t sound very Reliable either! Scammers Stay away, wish I had read the reviews beforehand. It was today I finally got a hold Of a live person!”

“This online Stein Mart is NOT CLOSE by any means of the original brick n mortar stores. This ONLINE site that calls themselves Stein Mart is a TOTAL RIPOFF. These prices are unbelievable nothing compared to the stores that would show the original price and their discount prices. I MISS THE ORIGINAL STEIN MART.”

“BUYER BEWARE! This company is an absolute ripoff. Months to get a refund and it is only a store credit so you are stuck purchasing more of their junk. Emails after email that takes forever to get an answer so that the slightest issue is an email thread of weeks and weeks and weeks. They actually still have some of my money and I no longer care I just want out! I can't even get them to stop sending me their sales emails! Notice they don't even have an unsubscribe tab!!! RUN from this outfit. They do not deserve to earn a dime from you. WORST company I have EVER dealth with. They don't even deserve one star, they should be minus 5 stars!!! You don't get anywhere with emails or calls. Disgusting. And believe me, I have NEVER written a review like this but they are SO bad, everyone should know. I wish I had read reviews first.”

“Customer Service is nonexistent. Unable to get a live person on the phone. I have now been on hold for 41 minutes. There is a questionable charge on my account, but I am unable to get a hold of anyone. I'll stay on the line to see if anyone ever answers. While I've been on speaker hold, I've been able to change my bed, empty the dishwasher, clean the kitchen and bathroom, vacuum my floors and carpet, fold laundry, pay other bills. I'll keep you posted if anyone ever answers Stein Mart's customer service phone line. I was put on hold at 9:21 am and now it's 10:01 am”

“I wish there was a zero star so I could have selected it. I placed two orders and was very unhappy with the quality of their products. I returned the items and was told they do not refund your money. They only issue gift cards. After many, many phone calls and follow up emails they insisted they would only issue me gift cards.I filed a dispute with my credit card company ,and they eventually refunded my money.”

“Ordered some art which took a long time to arrive. It was slightly different than as pictured so I returned it. I paid the shipping costs and got a credit. They do not give your money back. There is nothing I want and they have my money. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. I will never buy anything from them again!”

“PRICES, BRANDS are NOTHING like the original Steinmart! From reading all other comments their customer service and return policies sink as well. You bought the name but gave up what the customers enjoyed by the original Steinmart, quality clothing at great prices and wonderful customer service ?”

“Placed an order on line over a month ago tried to cancel as item was never received customer service not helpful at all just keep getting messages that they are looking into my order. File a dispute with my credit card company and they are looking into it.”
