“I have battled to get the correct dress from Steinmart now for two months. I received the dress in red instead of black. When I returned the dress, it came back to me a few weeks later as the same dress, like it was just sent back out. There are “no” managers to speak with because they “share” the support process. I still have not received my dress AND they have my money.”

“Same thing I'm seeing with others. From the length of time it takes to get your order, to the fact you have to email them to get a return label, the length of time to report they've received your return, to the fact they don't refund, but give you credit, it's horrible customer service. It doesn't have to be this way. Other mail order stores seem to be much more customer oriented. It just doesn't seem that they want this business to even work.”

“Terrible refund policy on returns. They only is a store credit using Spotify. Difficult to use gift card. Prices are high as well. Definitely not the Stein Mart where I loved to shop. Not for me unless return policy changes!”

“Do not buy from Steinmart on line it is not the same as the stores. They do not give you any refunds on your credit card only store credit!!! I am going to tell everyone about them! Rip off. Someone else must own it now.”

“EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW... According to a news release I just read,... The Stein Mart NAME was auctioned off by the Bankruptcy Court in 2020 and a company that does online retail only purchased the rights to the name "Stein Mart" and to the Stein Mart private brands for $6M. This company is not the actual "Stein Mart" we all loved for so many decades. From the reviews I see, I definitely will not be spending money with this new company. How I miss our Stein Mart. Just another COVID-19 very sad story.”

“Sterling silver necklace's had a kink in one and the clasp flimsy in other one. I even question if it's real Sterling silver. Will never purchase again. Quality is nothing like when store was in business.”

“Sadly I did not read these reviews before I made my purchase. I ordered placemats and 3 of the 6 placemats were defective. I have written to the customer service department. They have made promises to send me new placemats and it’s been over two months and they continue to sell the same item. I have not received them. They e mail me daily apologizing and it must be a robot. I have called several times to hear lies. Do not purchase from Steinmart.com. It’s not the same company!! Must have sold to China. It’s a scam.”

“Most horrible shopping experience I have ever had. I ordered a backyard birdbath fountain and it came smashed into pieces. Customer service refused to refund my money. I will never shop at Stein Mart again. I agree with those who say that it could not be the same company. I was very happy with the “real” store but now it is just terrible 👎👎👎”

“Steinmart was bought out by another company. It is NO way like our brick and motar, Steinmart stores that went bankrupt. As was previously noted by other customers, you can not get a cash refund for returned items, only store credit. The blouse I purchased was poor quality, and I wanted to return it immediately. To get a return label from customer service, I had to jump through hoops, only to be able to get a store credit. I will never purchase anything from Steinmart online services again. There is no free shipping, and they offer becoming a Steinmart Rewards member for $9.99 a month to get items shipped free. Why would I want to buy from Steinmart online services when there are so many reputable online companies which offer hassle free returns with a smile. Not pleased at all. I will never order from Steinmart again.”

“I cannot even believe Steinmart is doing better online than they were with their stores. Over half of my wardrobe was from steinmart stores. Do not even go to online site anymore. Way too expensive When they had the stores you could get more expensive clothing but not outrageously priced and also had moderately priced clothing. Did notice they carried some house hold items that did not sell that much maybe more bedding and things of that nature. Please reconsider reopening and get off of your online deal which is not a deal. I use to kid and say I should own stock in Steinmart with all of the purchases I have made through the years. Maybe you should reconsider again and get decent buyers and people who care and know what they are doing”

“I ordered a multi-colored Annalise dress BUT got a solid colored dress....called the customer service number only to get a " promo " for life alert... what a joke. I've emailed them but judging by these reviews it might take a while. I use to love going to the Stein Mart in my neighborhood & spent thousands over the years but this online service doesn't seem like the Store I know. It reminds me of yet another Chinese rip off company. I'll NEVER be ordering from them again!!”

“Unethical. A rip-off. They do not issue refunds for returns, only online credits that can be applied against the purchase of more of their shoddy merchandise. My order was for a $131.95 dress that is a mass of wrinkles. I will never order from Steinmart again.”

“DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. DAYS TO TALK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO REFUNDS. STEIN MART CREDIT ONLY. CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT RETURNED FOR MANY DAYS..IF AT ALL.”

“I've bought 2 items in separate transactions. Quality is good. Shipping went well for the item delivered UPS. 1 item delivered USPS took longer than expected but that's the Postal system anymore. No complaints and happy so far.”

“This company will not be allowed to open again due to its poor product and its unwillingness to give / refund money. Stein Mart took the product back and refused to refund the money I paid for the item. This is a highly unethical company that should not be trusted. Don’t buy from on line product is cheap worthless items junk when you receive. Crummy crummy people don’t buy from them on line or anywhere again. I am still trying to get my money.”

“Same experience as others here. The quality of the clothing I purchased was poor and then they would only agree to store credit for a refund. I would have been happy with a refund less return shipping costs. I'll hopefully find something to use the credit on but I won't be purchasing again otherwise.”

“I ordered a Zen Garden on March 25, 2021. The item is not as it appears on line. I sent an email to customer support. They just responded they are working on it. But to this dat, may 8. I have not heard back. Their prices are not cheap, font wadte your money, shop somewhere else.”

“Today is May 5th and I’ve been fighting with Stein Mart on a return. They drug their feet to where the timeline surpassed the deadline for a cash return so I was promised a credit for the dress amount plus 25% of the dress. I was getting emails after hours, weekends trying to persuade me to get a credit. Finally I agree and there’s not a store credit around. Which means I still have to deal with Stein Mart. The new owners have horrible customer service, I’d suggest strongly, DO NOT BUY! I’m getting with the BBB now. SHADY BUSINESS”
