The location is half an hour from the airport. Several shuttle stops later and we’re in the worst part of town. They tell me that I need to give them $1000 cash for a deposit because I am a Florida resident. They wouldn’t take my insurance card because it didn’t have a declaration page. It was an insurance card!!!! Then they canceled my car because I am from Florida and didn’t have $1000 or my declaration page Then I sat out front in this ghetto neighborhood until uber could pick me up. I was honestly scared for my life being stranded the 4 large, mean men and no means to defend myself. Expedia- they don’t do refunds. I am appalled that they would even associate with this company and they can have the money… I’m lucky to have left with my life and not have someone steal $1000 from me. There’s always fine print. Don’t use these people ever. Ever.

We were forced to take out insurance because my credit card was only valid for 4 months. The terms of use state that the card must be valid until the end of the month of the return day. Paid 366 euros too much. We had taken out full comprehensive insurance in advance, but we still had to pay extra. Surly, unfriendly and gangster practices.

They charged me 900 € deposit and never returned it. I spoke with a lawyer and send them a message that I will go to court and have a insurance for that. Immedeatly they returned the money without excuse. I am pretty sure that this is the "Buisness Model" of them. Dont use that company!

This is the worst Car rental service I have ever had. my experience was horrible as they claim that the reservation holds good only for 2 hours from the time of your booking. if for any reason you come later than 2 hours, they consider it as a "no show" and won't provide any refund. And were not willing to help since I booked this via Expedia, who is also at fault. These clauses are never clearly highlighted in the agreement and were reluctant to provide any kind of help or support. Absolutely want to make monies for wrong reasons and doesn't provide any assistance when you are a traveler from a different state. Absolutely HORRIBLE!! don't book unless you are ready to throw away your monies.

All of the reviews you read here are true. Avoid this company at all costs. Everything they say about the waiver and making you pay extra for toll roads is all true. We got tricked into the super expensive waiver but chose it rather than be stranded in the middle of nowhere. At least we won’t have to deal with their customer service to get deposit back. Unbelievable.

This company have taken £322 from my deposit for existing damage, I have sent them the photos of the existing damage that they are claiming this money for but they are playing the ignorance card now. Danni at the Florence branch of Sur Price/Auto One is responsible for this awful service. He tried to trick us by not telling us about the damage at the time of return and then sent the bill later on. Such a dishonest person. Sadly for Danni we have photos of this existing damage.

No deposit refunded within the 25 business days they claim it could take. We have sent several emails to ask about the 600€ deposit, but all we get is BS answers saying that money are released, so it is a problem with our bank. We have, of course, contacted the bank and confirmed that there is no issue. As a prrof of release, surpricecar sent us a document issued by someone called Auto ONE with a not existing phone number. Stay away from them

Do not use. We waited 4 hours for a shuttle to their off-site building which wax a 65e cab ride. They refused to take the Chase Saphire insurance (who we booked through) and wanted another 1309e for 3 weeks for insurance on top of what we paid. We finally went back to airport and rented through Hertz which was great.

Terrible experience renting from AutoOne at the Venice IT airport. First, the woman working behind the desk literally coughed in my face, then all over her hands while proceeding to touch my documentation, credit cards, and phone. Needless to say, I got very sick the next day, which is a problem as I and my musicians were traveling around Italy performing concerts. It severely impacted our trip on a professional level. And aside from that, she insisted we buy additional insurance that was supposed to be optional, otherwise she wouldn’t release the car to us. I guess it’s a good thing we did, though, because the check engine light came on almost as soon as we left the rental place, the gears stuck, and the car was covered in scratches. (She had told me she’d given us her “best car.”) What a joke! It was an absolute rip-off. Will never rent from this company again.

I used this company in Florence. My flight was delayed for just over two hours and they cancelled the reservation and made me pay an extra€60 a day for another car. On return they found a tiny chip in the door. They invoiced me for €390 but charged my credit card for €652. Their customer services do not respond about this. Exercise extreme caution before using this company.

Worst nightmare of my life. It’s sad you only get to know the Surprise when you arrive and there is no way to know it’s them because they use other name for bookings. I don’t know how people can be warned.

My experience with Car Surprice has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to warn others. I booked a Fiat 500 with them at an initially attractive price, but the problems started almost immediately. First, I reached out to confirm the deposit and was stunned to hear it was €900—outrageous for such a small car. For context, other companies only require around €300 for the same model. To make matters worse, they informed me I had to present a credit card at pickup, despite the fact that I’d already paid for the rental. Given these conditions, I decided to cancel, expecting a straightforward process. However, here we are, over two months later (my initial cancellation request was on August 14th), and I still haven’t received my refund. Repeatedly, customer service has reassured me that it’s being “urgently processed” by their accounting department. But clearly, their idea of “urgent” is entirely different from any reasonable standard. At this point, it feels like Car Surprice is intentionally delaying or even refusing refunds as part of a shady practice. I would strongly advise anyone considering this company to think twice. Their customer service is evasive, their policies lack transparency, and their refund process is either grossly incompetent or maliciously obstructive. Save yourself the headache and go with a reputable rental company instead.

First and the last time I rented a car form Surprice. Faro, Portugal. They charged me almost 400€ for the scratch I didn't make. Unfortunately I didn't have car phothos to prove they were wrong. Fortunately I had full Rentalcars cover insurance and money refund was made. My advise- stay away from this company (read other reviews- I'm not the only one with such experience). However if you have to use their offer- it's mandatory for you to take plenty of photos of the rented car. And I'm talking also about minute and tiny scratches of paint (e.g. 1mm big) because Surprice employee will be checking for EVERY possbile car damage to bust you with money charge.

Worst experience ever for car rental. Couldn't find the pick up point as the voicemail you have to ring gave incorrect instructions. I have already brought extra insurance through a 3rd party site I ordered the rental through which stated I did not need to purchase any extra cover for the vehicle. After getting a taxi there we had to wait outside in over 30 degree heat with 2 babies for over an hour to get to the desk. Once we got inside we were told the extra insurance we had brought was useless and if we didn't buy theirs for over £700 we would have to put down a deposit of £1500! If we didn't pay we weren't allowed to take the vehicle and would have lost all of the money paid.
