Had been with the AA Breakdown for 3 years and never called them out. Renewal this year had more than doubled the premium from last year !!. Phoned up to query it and was told it was because the AA provided a 'Luxury Service' ?. Told them I would not be renewing cover and then miraculously they said they could do the same level of cover for less than they charged me last year . ,!! Don't know what the hell is going on with them but they have now lost my business. Pure & excessive profiteering.

Very greedy when it comes to wanting your money I wouldn't insure my car with them again

I am still trying toget a settlement letter so I can claim my £250 excess charges from you as advertised. I have telephoned twice and emailed twice and still waiting!

Very sad to say that I have just left the AA to join anther service after almost fifty years. I have just got fed up with the annual inflated renewal request. Especially when I have a very low annual mileage and have not had reason to call anyone out for several years.

We have been with the AA for twelve years and never had to call them out. Every year our cover is quoted at around 150 gbp for two person cover . Every year I phone them and it's reduced to 100 GBP or so. This year i didn't bother got other 2 person cover for 89 GBP. The AA sent a couple of reminders and then after it had expired a price reduction to 100 GBP. Not impressed got fed up contacting you every year for a realistic price The AA is relying on people to renew automatically. You have lost our custom now.

My car broke down around 11 this morning, one of your guys picked me up an hour later, then drop us at South Mimms Service and went away saying soone picking us up at 13:25. We wait 1 hour and called again , no one came we called again and again your operator said it’s one more hour!!!! Now the worst thing last year my tyre blow up and I left my spear tyre in the garage. Called AA and guess what?! Same story! Spend 4,5 hours on hard shoulder in potentially danger spot. Than someone came to pick us up! I mean guys just don’t lie and tell me real time. I could’ve call someone else and sort it much more faster!

I’m waiting in my dead car as I write this. I was driving along and my car lost all power and gave out a huge cloud of blue smoke. I ground to a halt. It’s obviously terminal. I rang the AA and told them the problem and that I’ll need recovery. After 2 hours a patrol man turned up in a little van. I told him the same as I’d told the office. He said ‘you’ll need recovery, rang his office and left. I’ve now got another 2 hour wait for a recovery truck. Not happy.

AA rubbish setting up policy online! Did not get my policy through and had to phone few times. Then, the amount of passwords you have to enter each time I want to look at my policy is a big joke! Even when my policy is downloaded onto my laptop I still have to go through the whole process time and time again! It,s not a bank account just a policy!!! I will not be using the AA again for any items! Stay away if you have not got ten minutes each time you want to open your policy. Also you cannot see what you have set up! It does not show any excess what you have to pay in a claim!

Been broken down since 5pm reported that fan belt had snapped they send a small van with no parts just to confirm what I said. Then promise to get me a tow truck within 1hr 30mins. Two hours later still waiting an told we can expect to wait much longer. I’m very disappointed have a young child and no toilets. The service has fallen down the ranks, and cannot be relied upon.

I have been a royal AA customer for many years and I have what I would term as a basic package - me in any car, basic Roadside Assistance outside the 1/4mile and Relay. All for a whopping £160+ a year. There is no loyalty required when and if as now I shall be shopping around for a cheaper alternative.

Actual breakdown is ok. But automatic renewal is a big con. They charge loyal customers more than new customers. Big con

Abysmal customer service.... I omitted to mention that I had made a query about a claim on previous policy but did not proceed with claim and AA then cancelled my insurance which made it almost impossible to get renewal insurance elsewhere. Despite numerous emails I got nowhere and they even had the cheek to make a deduction from my refund for 'admin'....outrageous!

Estimated quite via email for motor insurance bearing in mind the aa had all the relevant information, £385. I ring up confirm all the information held for me and hey presto the quote is actually £792! What a joke and a complete drain of 20 minutes out of my day! Never again! 😩

Have been an AA member for 43 years having breakdown cover. I thought I would give motor insurance a try, worst thing i ever did, they were not prepared to make one phone call to my existing company to prove NCD, so cancelled my policy. needless to say they lost my policy & my wifes breakdown policy - 43 years loyalty? No explanation or why you leaving.

I had broken down with 2 children late at night on a unlit street 20 mins to get through ... I was told one hour untill the patrol arrived then 2 mins before the car was due I was told it was now another 2 hours before I got assistance with this in mind I called a taxi in anticipation of abandoning the car for the evening the taxi cost £40 as I arrived home I then had a text to say the AA was 10 mins away
