Car on fire on motorway. Wife. Child. Two dogs. Told AA of fire. Fire brigade and police out. 3.5 hours getting queue bumped and dumped. Online form ignored despite receiving so called priority call back - never came. Still waiting 5 hours later. Horrendous. Avoid at all costs. Paid thousands over the years. Never called once but the time I needed them they were not there.

Terrible service Called at 2.30 someone attended at 4.30 said he needed truck, left us on busy SOS area, called and told be an hour several times Then said it was logged as an unattended car with no people !!! After 6 1/2 hours on a dangerous road someone turned up ! Terrible service, car not a massive priority but I thought people might be !!! Was told by them to call the police ??

Its the stupid technological world we live in today. My car wouldn't start. I called the AA. Automated voice told me a text was coming. Opens the text which had a link to a web page. Filled out the web page. Hit the submit button/icon. It just sits there. Doesn't go anywhere. Tried ringing them but 30minute wait. Gave up. Then rang Green Flag. Got a call back organised. Man came out, he couldn't fix it so a recovery truck was sent out and car was dropped off at my service garage. Called AA this morning but they wanted another £95 because the garage was within 1/4 of a mil of home. What a disgusting company. I have been with them since 2006 and only used them trice in all those years. Horrible company. Will probably wave goodbye to them this August. Good riddance. Greedy barstewards.

Absolutely appalled by the service I have received from AA. I broke down yesterday, and have been stuck on a busy road an hour away from home since yesterday. My mum has health problems, and being picked up just does not seem to be their priority!

The AA insurance are useless when handling an accident. Took 3 months to resolve a clear no fault case. Poor communication is an understatement as the repairer had to inform me of a total loss. Each call to the AA was over 1.5hr wait. Made 3 complaints, 2 ignored and one resolved failing to acknowledge the issues. Then after the matter was settle as a non fault claim, I got a a solicitors letter for the hire care charges asking me to prove I could not afford the hire fees. I rang the AA and they told my that yes I am liable and should have done what I can to limit costs! The AA we're the cause for taking 3 months to decide if my car was a total loss, not me and then they tell me I am liable. NEVER use this useless and incompetent money grabbing business. AX who handled the hire car however were very good.

My daughter broke down on the M4 at approx 6 pm on a Friday evening, informed she was a high priority told within the hour this turned into 3:12 minutes Towed to a service station and left in a lorry park on her own and was told by the recovery agent she had to re phone the AA Again false ETA,s given next unit arrives at 15 minutes after midnight. Even tho they said my daughter who was alone and distressed about being dumped in a deserted lorry park at night was a high priority they could not be honest or provide the service we were lead to believe she would get in the event of a break down. As this incident dragged on I her father drove to Bristol from Cornwall and arrived before the AA Poor communications from the AA and a very uncaring call operator from one of the call handlers The only positive was once the relay drivers arrived they were polite and professional and understanding of my daughters ordeal

I took out home insurance with AA as they where competitive, they made every excuse not to pay out during the recent storms , I had to get the financial ombudsman involved , the AA caused me unnecessary stress and worry dragged my claim on for months and tried every way they could to avoid paying out on a very small claim ,I advise you to spend your money with a company you can trust so you can have peace of mind you are actually covered if the need arises, I will not use AA again for any of my insurances

Hopeless, Called them out 7pm, finally arrived 1:30 am. Then I was told I’d have to call them again later that morning for a recovery vehicle which I did. That didn’t arrive until 3:30 pm so when I finally got it to the garage they couldn’t fix it until the following day. It was the first time I called them in ten years of being a member and I was really expecting better service than that.

2021 had problems with auto-renewal. Having the same problem this year. No idea why as my bank details haven't changed since 1988 and the auto-renewal worked fine for 10 years. Sick of phoning up trying to sort this out so I'm leaving despite being a member since 2010. Once upon a time you had to choose between RAC and AA. Thankfully now there's more choice.

Awful service. Following an accident the AA were called out to recover the vehicle. While I was in hospital I was called twice to say they couldn't find the car. You couldn't miss it! It was the one that was rammed into a bollard. The 3rd time they called to say they didn't know where the car is meant to go. My wife and son were in hospital following this accident, it's not something you should have to go into. Secondly how am I meant to know !?!? In the end we arranged for a local recovery garage to collect the car. No issues were there within 30 mins and took the car. Awful experience

They left me stranded 100 miles from home with a 2 year old because I wasn't allowed to use the service in the first 24 hours (?). This was 23 hours and 40 mins after taking the cover out.

Broke down, waited 2 hrs for truck to arrive, said it needed towing (told them that initially) waited further 2 hrs for Richford motor services to arrive. They took me 35 miles and dumped me on double yellow lines at the side of the road, no food, no drink and no toilets. Waited further 4 hours for next truck to collect me who luckily took pity on me and took me all the way home. 10.5 hrs from initial call to arriving home!!! Thank you Burke Bros for your excellent service. AA need to stop using Richford, and they need to get their non service sorted. I am a 70 year old female travelling alone.

I had a WOF done in December which passed and 2 weeks later I had a bronze service 26 point check done, the night I got my car back there was a screeching noise coming from my brakes which I thought was a stone, the next day my front caliper came off while I was driving. They told me they didn't touch the caliper and that they only do visual checks, so some how after having my car for 12 months with no issues with brakes, the mechanic tells me that it was probably already loose and ends the conversation... I sent in an complaint and 5 months and 2 follow up enquiries later, nothing! this was the first time in my life I've taken my car to them because I wanted it checked over properly, AA Frankton, you failed! AA customer service and complaints Centre, you failed. they didn't have a zero stars option.

Abandoned by the AA. I paid for roadside assistance- all I got was a flatbed lorry! They can take me 10 miles- not much use when I’m 40 miles from home. Our electric car couldn’t be charged as all the chargers in the area had broken down! The AA got a local flatbed lorry to take me to a nearby charger but as I said all the chargers were out of order! AA don’t care and we were abandoned!

It is very difficult to communicate with this company, on the phone they promise a lot and lie to you. Personally, they created a lot of problems for me, stress and money spent on many phones. I do not recommend, choose another company !!!

Non fault claim, was mismanaged. I had to wait 3 months for an assessment by the engineer, thereafter the car was passed on to an underwriter who had to reassess the claim as a new claim. Over all I waited 4 months for the claim to be settled. Communication from the AA is extremely poor , no one communicated with me through the process or explained the claim properly. Staff do not understand their job and a lot of cover up for mismanagement. The teams they have are disjointed and don’t communicate. Unfortunately I had to go to the financial ombudsman and will be taking this to solicitors .

My claim, which is being disputed by the third party, was handed over to a different insurance company, who had no interest in actually investigating the claim. Was passed back to the AA and sent them the details of cctv cameras that would have caught the incident and proven the third party’s liability. AA haven’t contacted me since so I’ve just called them to find out they didn’t even bother contacting the cctv owners at the time and the cctv has more than likely been deleted now. They have done nothing to actually investigate my claim.
