“I was relatively pleased with my experience using The Shade, however, I think it would be more beneficial for darker hair colours than blondes as there wasn't anything included for toning the blonde (it lifted my root colour a decent amount but to a slightly orange tone). The colour I used was an ash blonde however my hair didn't go as ashy as I'd have expected, this could be because my hair wasn't light enough. I wish that they had a larger range of colours, the ability to pick specific colours rather than doing the quiz to choose one, and perhaps something for toning the hair (even if it came for an extra cost). The developer I received was 20 volume developer so not too harsh on the hair.”

“Recently took up The Shade’s trial! Loved it. Didn’t quite cover the greys but will use the softener next time and see if that works. Will keep using The Shade. Love knowing there are no nasty chemicals. The online support is helpful and quick to respond.”

“The pack comes with everything you need to do your hair, I have long hair and found there was just enough product. I found it had simple to follow instructions. But hard to do your hair if it's long on your own, the only thing I found it didn't cover my greys completely. Over all you have nothing to loose by giving it a try you can cancel at any time”

“I absolutely love this hair dye kit. My hair feels so soft, healthy and it's so shiny, the only thing is that the color is slightly darker than I would have liked (it was light brown, but more of a deep brown). I will definitely be continuing my subscription. Soo much better than the box kits.”

“The kit is very good. I found the Developer and colour didn’t mix that well, it looked lumpy and had different colour tones. That said the mix applied much wetter than my regular colour, that said there was little to no staining of the skin and the overall final colour was great.”

“I used number 4 dark brown to do my regrowth. I have balayage so I didn’t do my whole head. The colour was rich and very good quality. The best part was no horrible ammonia smell! I may choose a slightly more ash shade next time but it blended my roots well. My only criticism would be that with the developer in a sachet it is quite wasteful. If it was in a bottle you could do small touch ups when needed. I only used half the mixture and had to throw the rest out. It would also be great if The Shade did other developers like a no lift one to allow their colours to be used as toners. Overall I am pleased with the quality and will try them again.”

“So far so good! I received my initial trial pack this week and applied my colour straight away. Colour is great (light ash brown) and hair feels great. The application method a little fiddly compared to previous L’Oréal colour from chemist but expect I’ll get used to it. The only reason I’ve not given it a 5 is because I don’t know how long the colour lasts yet - my biggest bug bear of previous colour treatment was it would fade within a couple weeks. Fingers crossed The Shade life’s the distance!”

“First time user and absolutely couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out. I ordered Copper Golden Blonde and put that over a faded light brown and it has turned into more of a beautiful auburn and has left my hair shiny and feeling amazing. I only have 1 issue and that’s I have quite thick hair and would like a extra option for more colour as well as the developer on top on the extra plan i already have.”

“Really love the products, the colour is beautiful and left my hair shiny, I will happily continue to use it. The few members of staff I interacted with were very nice and did their best to be helpful. The only reason I gave only 4 stars is the slow delivery. I'm on my second order and it's again looking like 2 weeks to get a small package to Rockhampton. Just have to allow for that when ordering.”
