“I have resistant grey hair and have been getting the roots coloured every 3 weeks in a salon for over 20 years. I stumbled across ‘The Shade’ and after reading the reviews I thought I would give it a try. My partner painted the colour into just my roots, all over, and we didn’t take the colour through to the ends. I left the colour on for the time specified, including 10 extra minutes for my resistant greys. This is the same time as the salon left it for. The results are amazing. The colour covered all the regrowth, and it looks like I had it done in a salon! I will continue to use The Shade to colour my hair, as it’s so easy to do from home and conveniently arrives in time for the next application. I used Genoa 6 Light Brown, and for my next application I’ll be trying Montecristo 6.1 Light Ash Brown, just so I can see the difference, and then I’ll settle on a regular colour.”

“Absolutely love this! Was looking for a way to maintain my long red hair without paying salon prices. Very impressed with the quality and the colour itself. Holds up to washing SO much better than my salon's colour. My only qualm is that I wish the gloves were more like the standard medical gloves instead of the thin clear plastic ones - I have small hands so those gloves are awkwardly large on me.”

“I used number 4 dark brown to do my regrowth. I have balayage so I didn’t do my whole head. The colour was rich and very good quality. The best part was no horrible ammonia smell! I may choose a slightly more ash shade next time but it blended my roots well. My only criticism would be that with the developer in a sachet it is quite wasteful. If it was in a bottle you could do small touch ups when needed. I only used half the mixture and had to throw the rest out. It would also be great if The Shade did other developers like a no lift one to allow their colours to be used as toners. Overall I am pleased with the quality and will try them again.”

“Dark Blonde - I loved this colour. It was easy to apply and it removed and toned down the brassie gold colour from my hair. Added depth and colour. I had never coloured my hair at home before so I was nervous, but I honestly would say that it gave me a superior colour to the one normally achieved by the hairdressers. It felt smooth and silky too. Happy customer”

Hi Brooklyn, unfortunately you didn't take our advice that you can only lighten your hair by 2 levels, and to contact one of our colourists if you want to do a bleach wash. You selected Capri 8.2 Beige Blonde which is much too light for your hair and when you lighten beyond 2 colour levels, unwanted warmth is revealed due to the naturally contributing pigment.
