“Colour wasn't what I was expecting (much lighter then expected, especially in the roots) and colour comes out with every wash since. However, hair felt healthy and fresh straight after colouring and kit was easy enough to use. :)”

“Very poor customer service and communication manners, no post purchase care and total lack of responsibility for missing package due to company's shipping setup choices (They don't require signature on delivery so if your package gets missing - oh well, not their problem...) Great products, but due to above reasons prefer to source somewhere else. Please someone train Craig on how to communicate with customers, this experience was embarrassing...”

Dear Marie, As per our email communications, if a parcel goes missing, we take 100% responsibility and will provide a refund or a replacement. In your situation, there was no missing parcel as we received confirmation from Australia Post that your parcel was delivered to your address at 1:03pm on September 24th. Once we receive confirmation of a parcel being delivered, our responsibility ends. I'm sorry that you feel you were entitled to a refund or a replacement, but in the 13 days between when your parcel was delivered, and when you contacted us, any number of things could have happened to your parcel, none of which is the responsibility of The Shade. “Very happy with the product. I am allergic to hair dye and whilst i have a little reaction it is only about 10% compared to using other product, even ones that are supposed to have no nasties!!! My hairdresser applies for me about 4 times now and she is impressed with the product and how it holds its colour.”

“I was very disappointed with the result. I purchased light ash blonde that stated that it would have no red in it, but my hair didn’t come out ash, it definitely has a red tinge to it. I just don’t think you can get salon quality colour at home.”

Hi Dee, I'm sorry you didn't get the result you were looking for. Ash colours neutralise warm tones, so there must be an underlining reason why there is a red tinge. “I love The Shade, its so conveniently delivered to your door and originally I had signed up for one colour and after a few deliveries it just wasnt the right colour for me, took 2 seconds to update my subscription and change the colour online. “I was a bit nervous when I received my order as I haven't coloured my own hair in a very long time, but being in Melbourne and not having had a colour for 7 months I was wanting something that was good quality. Came across The Shade and thought I'd give it a go. Was great making use of the free trial (only had to pay postage). Everything turned up nice presented and I love that they provide you with all the equipment you need. All instructions were very straight forward and simple to follow. I got my husband to help me apply the colour and he did a fantastic job at it. Super happy with the colour, with was Deep Mahogany Brown. It's a lovely colour and would be happy to purchase again.”
