“We stumbled across Tippsy Sake almost by accident, and it’s quietly become one of the best discoveries we’ve made since our first trip to Japan. It’s not just a store—it feels like an extension of the kind of exploration we love most: wandering back alleys in Kyoto, finding tiny shops and breweries we’d never heard of, and being surprised at every turn. Tippsy has become our go-to source for both our favorite bottles—the ones we thought we’d only be able to drink in Japan—and new finds that we hadn’t even known existed. The selection is thoughtful, often surprising, and always impeccably curated. But what makes Tippsy stand out is how much it feels like you’re learning as you go. The depth of education they offer on the different types of sake, brewing techniques, and flavor profiles adds a richness to the experience that we rarely find outside of conversations with toji in Japan. And speaking of priceless—if you’re serious about sake, their unlimited shipping deal is a hidden gem. Once we realized how often we were ordering, it was an obvious choice. “Warning do not buy from this store. I left a one star review of my experience and it was NOT posted. This is my second attempt. Customer service is awful. They sent me broken merchandise and then denied responsibility. I regret giving them my business. I purchased a large order and two wooden boxes were sent broken. There was no other signs that any damage was made to the exterior mailing box. Likely they sold me broken merchandise and refused to be honorable. Buyer beware!”

“I have long been a sake afficionado, and have really strived to develop my palate and my knowledge of the many different brewing techniques and flavor profiles. I've been to Japan multiple times, and recently began the process of sake sommelier certification. I live in a large, west coast city with a well-curated, but rather small sake selection in the local Japanese grocery. I wanted access to a larger set of choices and Tippsy absolutely rocked my world once I discovered it. There is no better way to begin a sake journey, or to expand your sake tastes if you already are a fan of this great beverage, than by investigating Tippsy. The customer service is great, the site is delightfully well organized, the newsletter and youtube videos are wonderful fun, and the sake club is just perfect (while I buy most sakes by my own choice, I also have signed up to have them send me their selections a few times a year, and they zeroed in on my flavor preferences very well). Love the sake "cabinet" so I can easily find and re-order my favorites. I also enjoy the rewards system, which is a fun little perk. I recently installed a dedicated sake fridge and Tippsy keeps it well stocked! Can't recommend them warmly enough.”

“My first order was actually a Tippsy box. Shipping was fast and box was in excellent condition. The box also had a couple surprises which was very generous. One note would be I wish when you select to replace a bottle of sake with a different bottle for you box. That they would give you a little more options. I give Tippsy 10/10 I highly recommend giving them a try”

“Great options on the website, and the sake set was fun, delicious, and informative. The only drawback is they don’t give an estimated delivery date at the time of purchase, and the gift ended up arriving well after Christmas. I did receive an order confirmation within minutes of placing the order, which gave me the delivery timeframe, however I reply immediately to cancel the order and no one replied.”

“Incredible selection and a wealth of information for each sake. My go-to resource for both sake and sake charateristics. Love the wishlist and "My Sakes" list, too! The YouTube content can be ejoyable at times, particularliy the recent highlight of a sake shop in Japan ran by three sisters. Tippsy makes it way too easy to get sake delivered. ;)”
