“The chocolates in all the boxes I’ve received are completely melted. They say they will add an extra item of equal value of the chocolates to my next box but never do. They said the melted chocolates aren’t their fault, because they can’t control shipping, and it’s a common occurrence... yet they still include chocolate during warm months?! I’ve asked to cancel my subscription but they refuse to do it. Also, right now you need to pay DHL shipping which is an extra $15 for me... for below quality products! Extremely dissatisfied!”
“Wish I could give 0 stars. My box was supposedly sent out over 120 days ago, but has not arrived. Customer service kept telling me to wait 14, 30, 90, and 120 days. I filed a dispute with PayPal and TokyoTreat responded with a supposed tracking number, yet I did not pay for tracking and the tracking number shows up as invalid on both JapanPost and my local mail courier tracking service. Their joined site Tokyo Catch never gives me problems, but I'll never try Tokyo Treat again.”

Had to email then as there was no email saying my box had been shipped, it has now been 4 months since my box supposedly shipped and no sign of it, the customer service is awful and have even tried reaching out via multiple tweets and no response! I have been waiting for my april box for soon half a year, and the only so-called help i get from customer support is them just asking me to "wait a little longer". They have been telling me to just wait a week longer for the past three months. Customer support have repeatedly sent me copy-paste messages, never really answering my questions or even trying to compensate for the delay. Even though this covid situation affects international shipping in general, this company has been so unprofessional, blaming everything on the circumstances but refusing to actually make up for any delays (ex. was asked to pay EXTRA to get my box shipped to me "quickly"). I've been using many other services requiring international shipping during this pandemic and they have been able to deliver, even the companies situated in Asia. So I don't see why this company can't do the same.

Funny thing is I haven't even received the FIRST box I ordered and it was ordered on the 21st of June. Now I can't pay rent and I can't pay my school fees. Unhelpful customer service.”
“First, they failed to send several boxes. One might have been lost in the mail, but given other experiences, I doubt it.
Second, they automatically took money for the next year on the same day that I received an email from them.
Three, they then actively extorted me by claiming that, now that they had received payment, they still would send no boxes unless I paid yet more - blaming the Corona Virus.
Four, when their packages do arrive, they are interesting for the first one or two until you realize that they are all just flavored rice puffs, probably to save shipping weight.”

“My May box (shipped 14th April) still hasn’t turned up... I’m so disappointed in this company and every ticket I send through to question them about it they push me further and further back. I keep getting robotic answers and they are coming up with every excuse under the sun to NOT refund me. First, they have to wait for the box to come back, but if it’s lost in the post then it can’t come back so I’m paying for nothing, then I have to wait 6 weeks since shipping, I message a day after still not received my box then they tell me to wait 90 days and push it back even further... I’ve paid for 2 boxes and received nothing... I am incredibly disappointed in this company at the moment... I’ve put $70 (plus $10 as they are forcing everyone to pay for “priority shipping” which means absolutely nothing!) dollars to them and got NOTHING out of it! 😔 I feel incredibly disappointed and ripped off... I had high hopes for them but now I’m just considering swapping services as soon as I’m able to settle the disputes about my missing boxes...
I’ve skipped the July box and I’m also still waiting on the June box. This company has let me down. I keep telling them that their shipment should be here by now because I had ordered something else from Japan the same week and that arrived within 2 weeks of ordering AND I didn’t pay for anything extra shipping wise.
I'm going through Paypal to try and get a refund as it's beyond a joke now. Constantly getting their excuse of 'Covid-19' is causing delays. Well, why is it that some people in the UK are getting their boxes and some people aren't? This company has some issues and they are making it incredibly difficult for me to trust any other subscription service like this in the future!”

Have had other things shipped over from Japan with delays of a few weeks - not months.
The parcels have clearly either not been sent in the first place or have got lost in the post. However TokytoTreat point blank refuse to give you a refund or try to help in any way to find your parcel, give you vouchers, send a new box or ANYTHING to make up for it. So im now down $60 with absolutely nothing to show for it. Currently having to escalate the issue with Paypal as Tokyotreat refuse to do anything.
In addition to this they will also charge you extra whenever they see fit for "additional express shipping costs". The parcels were supposed to arrive in 10-14 days, its now been nearly 3 months so thats fun.”
“I was subscribed for about 9 months. At first it was great and exciting but the contents started getting quite boring and repetitive. I'd cancelled my subscription at this point. I had however, paid for two months of boxes that hadn't arrived. I contacted customer support and have basically been told there's nothing they can do. £90 down the drain thanks guys”

“I subscribed to 3 months only. They RE-subscribed me for another 3 months without my permission. If I wanted it to be that way, wouldn’t I have just gotten a 12 month subscription. This company is a scam. I am working hard to make sure I get my money back. It’s insured that they would trick me into my money. The treats were not worth the hassle. As a birthday gift to my nieces, I have subscribed for both the Tokyo Treat and the No Make No Life 6 months premium. That costed me 384 USD (paid upfront). Now they are trying to force me to pay an additional 10.95 USD per month, per box for DHL shipment, which I have never asked for. Since they say they cannot cancel the subscription and reimburse me, they gave me one option only: NOT RECEIVE THE BOX. Yes, you heard me right. They are suggesting I simply opt not to receive the box. So I pay 384 USD and what my nieces will get for their birthday: NOTHING!!! If you are not yet a victim of this scam, please be careful! I don't want you to go through what am going through. I have no hopes that my nieces will get anything, nor will I get my money back. BE CAREFUL!!!!”
“I'm not convinced this isn't a scam - my box was apparently posted on the 8th of May and no sign of it when it is nearly August. TokyoTreat point blank refuse to refund you. Apparently they will only consider a refund if the box is returned to them - when the delivery is either clearly lost, or was never posted in the first place! There are so many complaints online from people who have experienced the same thing. Avoid this company.”
