“The Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket is a great inclusion in to any bike packers kit. I use this jacket combined with a half sleeping bag system from Terrarosa Gear for a comfortable nights sleep down to 0deg C. Being made with hydrophobic material and the prima loft insulation means it can get wet in the early morning and still provide warmth. It also doubles as a comfortable riding jacket on cold mornings working well to keep out cold wind. The jacket packs down in to a pocket and compacts down well. I highly recommend the Patagonia Nano Puff - now having two of them to be included on every bike packers packing list.”

“What a champion of a jacket! Lightweight, warm and cosy, water resistant and tough. This jacket packs away in its own little pocket, making it a hiking essential. I love the jacket and am stoked that Patagonia use sustainable methods to create it.”

“During the National Fly Fishing Championships held in Tumut earlier this year I was introduced to Toms Outdoors. Whilst there I purchased, amongst other items, some Fulling Mill The French - Barbless Tungsten Jig Nymphs. At the recent "Casting for Recovery" retreat held in Canberra for ladies recovering from breast cancer this nymph hooked 4 rainbow trout of which the participant managed to land one. This was the cause of much excitement as it was the first trout they had ever caught. I then gave one to another participant and within only a couple of casts they also caught their first trout. So it seems the Rainbows certainly love this pattern.”

“I already own a Patagonia Stormfront backpack for fly fishing in NZ where the bad weather can come on faster than a politician on a free lunch. I bought the Stormfront hip pack for those times when times when I don't need to carry as much but I still want to keep everything dry. The t-zip provides a completely waterproof seal and the shoulder strap helps share the load. Its 10 litre capacity is plenty enough to do the job. I'm no fan of huge waist packs that encourage you to over stuff them and then end up feeling unbalanced and uncomfortable. Not cheap but worth it for a quality bit of kit.”
