The basic idea of TM is different from other meditation techniques and I can see that being a helpful difference, but I feel like the instruction is very one-size-fits-all and the answers to my questions and struggles are just repeats of what has already been said. There's not a lot of room to ask questions and get a nuanced response. They keep saying meditate with "ease" and don't "focus" or "try" but these ideas are so much easier said than done. Just saying it doesn't make it so. I will stick with the practice to see if it starts to fall in place, but I feel discouraged that my experience is not matching what they assert the experience will be.

Hi Kate, we're sorry you're feeling discouraged with your TM experience. Every aspect of the TM course was designed intentionally by our founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, to ensure that anyone, no matter their learning style, can learn to practice correctly. It might feel repetitive to some but learning to practice the technique correctly is essential for getting the maximum benefits. Additionally, we've seen how important personal follow-up sessions can be. Often the benefits are noticeable right away, but occasionally it can take some time. We encourage you to seek a free, personal follow-up with your TM instructor to discuss your experience and clarify any lingering questions you may have, especially if you continue to feel like you aren't experiencing any benefits.

I should have joined my friend 40yrs ago to learn and practice TM the time was not right. I did join 10 days ago. I am still learning and meditate twice a day and will continue to do so. It has been a wonderful experience. It is not for one particular type of person it's for people of any walk of like which I learned from my group. In the short period of time it has helped me with clearer thinking, more energy less stiffness in the body and pain. Everyone is different, everyones experiences are different too.

It was a wonderful experiance to finally get to learn meditation to develop a practice. The amount of support offered by TM is outstanding. I know I am trying to do it alone. I feel more centered, peaceful and connected than ever before. So glad I signed up and did this for myself.

The Transcendental Meditation technique as taught by my local teacher Donielle, is the most direct and approachable method of meditation that I've tried in my 40 years of studying Eastern Philosophy. I have a practice now that I trust, and friends that have a like mindset of spiritual awakening!
