I read on wikipedia that there's been some criticism of Trustpilot for basically selling itself as a platform for favorable reviews to companies, and it does seem to me that is their business model. There is a very limited selection of companies listed on the site, a suspicious proportion of highly favorable reviews, and when I posted a review complaining that a company there sent me spam ("Hi, I have some questions about your company...hi, I wanted follow up....hi,....), that company president messaged me to claim they only email people who are interested in their product, accused me of lying and conspiring with someone named Andy, threatened to hire a lawyer and then wished me a nice day. What a jerk. If he'd just apologized and promised to remove me from their mail list like any other reputable company that sends out spam, I would have amended or deleted the review. Now, it seems to me that trying to intimidate customers that should be reason for Trustpilot to block them (they do recommend to companies that they should talk nicely instead of being hostile), but instead the company was able to lodge a complaint that I wasn't a real customer and it was up to me to provide documentation that I was a customer or my review would automatically be removed. Now, I wonder how many of those five-star reviews would pass this test? Anyway, I just removed my account figuring there's no reason to contribute to their user count, and while I generally appreciate it when Internet companies don't make you jump through hoops to remove your account, it's so easy to remove your account on Trustpilot that it just reinforces me impression that the whole site is geared toward filtering out any non-favorable reviews.

Disappointed with Trustpilots compliance team. Will not remove a customer's review who is blackmailing us and victimising a member of staff with a bad review in order to obtain a free order and refund. This is against there terms and conditions yet they are allowing this. No trust with them at all now.

Hi I recently set up an account partially filled the details, didn't think much of it at the time, a few days later I typed my business name to check reviews from another site, trust pilot came up first with one negative and one ok review, I noticed my company logo and my name but my company name was arranged differently. I logged onto trust pilot account to find out what had happened, only thing I filled in was my name company logo, and company email, I didn't fill any section in with my company name as that had to be done in the companies section which i didn't fill. The type of work i do makes its more personal between me and my customer, so i know if there is a issue, but to have random people comment is not a review. my question is why would trust pilot automatically fill my details and straightaway I get two reviews, from total stranger, isn't this classified as fake reviews. can trust pilot be trusted to be honest and non biased towards your business, with this type of activity is happening, or are all reviewing platforms colluding to drum up business. Awaiting a valid response from trust pilot and i will update thank you Ali

I find Trustpilot a very honest place to leave reviews but believe that a lot of people that but bad reviews in are trying to make them look bad in anyway they can I have look at loads of bad reviews but they give no proof of who they are staying anonymos if its a true review then why are frightened to give there name is it because they are like a lot of people that have nothing to do and spend time going on the internet and doing things keeping them occupied instead of getting board like acting like little kids I know for a fact trustpilot always give the review that as been given making them very honest in every way

I've reported a company who have obviously faked positive reviews and they did nothing about it. It's not like the reviews are even done well - they're from people with no other reviews, glowingly positive, all done in the space of a few days and none since, all from people with similar names, all with similar grammar errors. If they don't do anything about such obvious spamming as that then how can we possibly believe they can find more subtle fraud? They aren't bothered.

Now impossible to leave a review of a company without correspondence with the company. In the case of bittylicous, I cannot leave a review without a transaction code, which I do not have, and must contact them the receive if they feel like giving it to me. Trust pilot is not impartial and favours the business, and no doubt in some way they pay to cherry pick reviews.

Trust Trustpilot!?! Not on your life would I! A high number of Totally untrue reviews being posted & VERY misleading to the general public! They just pick and choose who and what reviews stay!!! Totally biased! In direct cahoots with the companies that pay them too! I would never ever be guided by just there overall reviewing system, as it it flawed & corrupt! FACT!!!

I am a little surprised at all the negative comments about trustpilot, but I can only speak as I find. So if companies are paying them to write positive reviews then Vets Now .. an emergency vet company are not paying them enough. This company is rated as bad, because it is. Vets Now frequently report posts to take them down, but my experience of Trustpilot is that they encourage and help with the the reviews in order to re post them. They allow people who contact me about the company to spread the word and at the very least annoy Vets Now.... I have no complaints about them.

Trust Pilot are a Company that get paid by other Companies to make them look like they are reputable. An absolute Scam and hugely misleading! I have been trying to post an honest review about the Company 'GetMeIn' and They keep blocking it for the use of words like 'Terrible'. An absolute joke and should be reported to some kind of trading standards association. DO NOT TRUST TRUSTPILOT REVIEWS!!!

After some exerence With this site, that i hoped would be a serious, indipendent and objektive site...i just have to conclude that they too are in the pocket of their clients, that pays for positive rewievs, and get the negative deleted just because they dont like it..easy as that.

Really bad commercial practices. We didnt want to "sign up" to them during a sales call,so they deleted all the organic reviews we had collected over the years.

So they remove your reviews even though you can prove that you have had a transaction with the company. Even when that transaction actually leads to a court case where the company is ruled against. Seems Trustpilot really isn't there for the open honestly. it appears they dont want to allow customers to make an informed decision as they sensor what you can and cant post. Shame on you TRUSTPILOT.

Leave actual constructive criticism and company start complaining to Trustpilot in attempts to remove it. First Trustpilot will absurdly complain about the language of your review. No name calling or derogatory terms used, however they insist that language must be changed .Trustpilot does not approve any subsequent changes of your review no matter what you try and continues to complain about the language without specifying which sentence potentially violate their rules. After annoying reviewer for several weeks they will remove your review stating that you failed to comply with Trustpilot rules. Another method they use is asking you for order number to prove that you are actual customer. After you provide such number they let the company claim that they cannot find you in their database and remove your review. Sending screenshots of your actual ORDER from that company website triggers Trustpilot to send you automatic BS replies. This is a typical European company; 1. deceptive, 2. outright dishonest, 3.hiding behind local bureaucracy and language. Truly disgusting business that serves dishonest vendors while collecting money from them.

I'm very worried that trust pilot reviews are misleading as it seems far too easy for companies being reviewed to remove or block unhelpful reviews. I don't normally do reviews but regularly look at them when making a purchase from a company for the first time. On occasions when I do complete a review I am fair and balanced and regularly give 5 stars if I am impressed. However, I recently purchased some shelf stable ready meals from a company called Parsley box. They mailed me to ask them to review them so I did. My review commented that the delivery service was good, one meal was ok and one was awful (and it was very bad) and I gave them 1 star. My review was not published because it was reported to trust pilot for breach of trust pilot guidelines and the reason for reporting was that the review related to one product and not the service. This is not true as I commented that the service was good. Furthermore when I looked at a good review on their site it was published even though it related to just one product and not the service. It is clearly just far too easy for companies inviting reviews to manipulate what is published and it doesn't seem that trust pilot have the necessary safeguards to prevent this.
