Being a host with this company is almost impossible. One of my cars has been wrecked three times the first time it took you guys 5 months for me to get it back on the road. You guys kept telling me I have to call the claims department which I did and the voicemail of the lady that you told me to call said that she was out indefinitely and every time I called the support desk they told me well that's the number you have to call that's all we have. I asked to talk to somebody in charge and they said there's nobody to talk to you have to call that number. Let's go ahead and fast forward it to about 2 months ago a gentleman wrecked the car again for over $10,000 worth of damage the car was not fixed right I waited 4 weeks of non-stop calling still nobody will call me back my car is not fixed right and all I get is rudeness. Being a host for this company has been nothing but a headache. I just want somebody in charge to call me because I am told over and over again there's nobody in charge there till today she said I talked to my supervisor but he's too busy to talk to you he's in a meeting he's on a call. That's how you deal with people that list their cars for you. I hope somebody reaches out not going to hold my breath I can't wait for a new turo to come out another company that takes care of the host. I'm out now over 6k and You're sorrys you keep telling me or just shallow

I challenge you to find a worse car rental company than this. First of all, the car renters are allowed to include all kinds of excessive fees. For example, let's say that you need a car for two days, and you find one that's $40 a day. That's $80 plus taxes, around $100, right? As soon as you go to checkout screen, you'll see all kinds of fees added. "Convenience fee." "Cleaning fee." "Travel fee." You'll be surprised to see that the final price is twice what you were expecting. Next, even though I've been renting from Turo for years, I had a terrible experience recently. I had to drive from Indianapolis to Washington, D.C. Originally, I had a rental through Enterprise in Indianapolis, but that didn't work out. Frustrated, I started traveling east and booked a last minute Turo in Dayton, OH. The rental was $200 and my card was charged. I kept messaging the host and asking if we were good to go, and that I would be there in two hours. He never responded. I got to the car at the airport and kept messaging him, until he finally responded saying that he's at work and he can't rent me the car. Once again, I started driving east, and I called Turo asking to refund me the $200. The CSR that I spoke to said that he would refund me the money and chastise the host, then he offered to make it up to me with a free rental out of Columbus, OH. I said that that would be great. He found me another car on the east side of Columbus and kept saying that Turo would pick up the tab. I appreciated it and thanked him profusely. I picked up the car in Columbus without issue, although if I knew that I was going to pay for this particular car, I would have refused. It only took premium gasoline and there was a 500 mile limit. I had to pay extra money for gas and the extra mileage. Still, I assumed that Turo was picking up the tab for the rental and the mileage. One hour later, I was surprised to see that another $200 was charged to my card! I called Turo and asked why they did that, and the CSR told me that I'll be refunded everything once I turn the car back in. I did, and days went by. I received the first refund of 200, but not the second. I called Turo again and this new CSR had no idea what I was talking about. I asked him to go back and listen to the audio recording of the original conversation. He put me on hold for ten minutes, then came back and said "Sir, I listened to the conversation, and yes, he did tell you that Turo would pay for this rental. I'll forward this situation to the higher ups at Turo." Then he said that they would be in touch, and I thanked him. Two more weeks went by with no refund. I finally got an e-mail response from someone at Turo saying that they've reviewed my situation and that they've decided to NOT give me a refund. I kept saying that that's not what I was told and to go back and listen to the audio recording. They refused and kept saying that I was responsible for paying for the second rental. Then I said "Fine, if you won't give me a refund, then give me a credit. I think that that's more than fair." Once again, they refused, and even got crappy with me, saying that their decision is FINAL. (they wrote it in all caps and in bold) I told them that they've lost a customer and they never responded. Screw this awful company.

Horrible experience - they charge much more than what they advertise (after you click to actually pay for it, they add about 30% more onto the price they offer you)and they don't help you if you get into a bad situation.

I bought a new car in 2019 just to list it on Turo, and someone rented it and crashed it. I only found out after 7 days because Turo didn't notify me at the time. I only found out when the person was supposed to return the car. My car spent 100 days in the shop, and Turo didn't cover all the repair costs. They authorized me to rent a car, and I spent $2,800 on car rentals, but Turo only wanted to reimburse me $300 for that. Well, this happened in May 2020, and now it's August 13, 2024. I called Turo today, and they still refuse to pay the remaining repair costs and the $2,800 I spent on car rentals. TURO IS A BIG SCAM. BEWARE, it's not worth listing your car for rent on TURO! Update for Turo Claim 118232 on Reservation 6587552 for your 2019 Kia Forte

I booked a car 6 months in advance. I found a car close by to our hotel and at a great price. I showed up at the agreed time but the host and the car were not there. I had to wait 30 mins to cancel, sitting on the sidewalk in the summer heat. Finally when I was able to get customer service to cancel the reservation, it took them 1.5 hrs to find me another car at the same price, and I had to take a cab to get there as it was over 1 hour away from my hotel. They only reimbursed 70% of the cab (though I've yet to receive the reimbursement after 1 week). The car I got was not as nice as the one I had booked but at least we had a car. Then the second time I started the car, the key broke (it was 12 years old) and we got stranded at highway McDonalds. After 2.5 hours on a call with their customer service, they could not offer me another car, the tow truck had not arrived and I had to call a family member to drive 2 hours to pick us up. They offered me nothing but a reimbursement for the original fee, no compensation for what I had gone through, no reimbursement for the gas and time my family took to pick us up. Nothing. Then three days later they told me without explanation that they would not be refunded the full cost of the vehicle but only 25% and they were also going to charge me 140 dollars for a 12 year old key that broke through no fault of my own. Its been a week now, they very rapidly charged me the 140 dollars but I have yet to receive any refund at all, they are not answering my emails and when I call customer service they tell me I have to wait for a response from the 'executive team' who I am not allowed to speak to on the phone but get no response from via email. I am genuinely surprised that they can stay in business with this level of service and it seems like this can't possiblly be legal. I fully expect a class action lawsuit will hit this company soon, if they don't first file for bankruptcy. Please do not use Turo! You do not want to ruin a vacation plan to save a couple bucks. I regret it tremendously.

I don’t want to give any stars. The person that I rented from said I burned the driver seat, in which I DON’T SMOKE AT ALL. I will never recommend to any person I’m affiliated with. Sad how people tell lies to get compensated.

This company is not deserve for business. It’s very awful experience to rent a car from Turo at the first try. I have booked a car for my family trip in August, it was a 7 seats car. The night before travel the car owner has cancel my trip and return back the money with no penalty or nothing. Their excuse was a car has accident. I requested to give me a prof of that, but they never respond or reply. I called to Turo customer service for help, she said she can’t help me since the price that I paid is no longer available for other car. I asked her what should I do since my trip start tomorrow. She said looking for other company. It’s very story with a rude Costomer service and no responsible by this company. If you have a concrete or firm schedule to travel, please do not rent a car from them. I though I would save a little by use their service, but in the end my rental has increased double with last minute booking.

I’ve been a host for a few weeks now and have been renting my vehicle out this entire time and I’ve only had my car for two days out of the three weeks. Turo ensures you that after your first trip, it will take three days to initiate the payment and then you should receive the payment shortly there after. I have now completed two full trips and have not been paid out. This is so unfortunate. I actually got a hold of a supervisor after 45 minutes of waiting and he was obviously having someone blowing in the phone and was like “ I can’t hear you. I’ll have to call you back.” It was the most unrealistic experience I’ve ever had. After my car returns from this trip, I will close my account account out. This is the saddest thing I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been renting my car out for this long, just to never have been paid.

Hi to anyone reading this , DO NOT book on Turo with Con artist Host RENA CRUTCHFIELD (Warrena). Knew her car was in bad condition and her husband brought the keys and before i could ask questions he was already pulled off. Had problems with the tires and replaced it out of my OWN money & even paid RENA an extra $250 because she didn’t like the new tires, never crashed her car or ran into anything. provided multiple proof of everything in emails and one of the customer service representatives said there was nothing on file when i know i sent multiple emails. Beware of booking in Birmingham with Rena Crutchfield she has a 2021 Nissan Versa i advise nobody book with her please save yourself the trouble & Turo is adding on extra money trying to charge me 2400 for a damage i never did. Car was already scratched and dented before i could pull off in it. again do NOT book 2021 Nissan Versa with RENA CRUTCHFIELD she is a fraudulent evil conniving scammer & looking for extra money

I booked a vehicle for 8 people. When I picked up the Van it only had 7 seats. And the seats had white residue all over there. I called the host and was told to contact Turo. I contact Turo and they say to contact the host. There is no accountability for their vehicles. I will never book again! I also left a review on the vehicle and it was removed.

Negligent host. Difficult host to work with, who was not helpful at all. Customer assistance was terrible switching back and forth between agents. In all honesty save yourself some time and money and go with a different company.

I’m a host for 3trips, in the list trip, the guest violates the “No pet” policy, but Turo was handled the situation properly. Turo is worst when it comes how it handles exceptions scenarios for hosts.

Car broke down. Turo made me, my child, and my 5 show dogs sit on the side of the freeway in the dark in a car that wouldn’t turn on for AC, no hazards, windows wouldn’t go down. Essentially for 6 hours in a hot box. Then told me to stand at the location and wait for an Uber that was never ordered. The Tow truck driver drove me to the nearest hotel. I continued to speak with Turo reps no one resolved the issue. I was told several different things 1. Find a 3rd party rental car and to call back when I found it. 2. Uber to my next destination. 3. Replacement car. Every time I called back it was a different rep and they always said something different. Hours ans hours of sitting at a hotel and they said they wouldn’t pay for the additional time required at the hotel because they didn’t have me a ride or a car. This company is a disaster of an emergency occurs. The host was great but Turo is a joke.

I have rented for turo 5 times over the past 2 years and never had a problem until my most recent trip. I have health issues and therefore have a service animal. Never been an issue. After returning my rental, the host contacted me that there was some pet hair in the car. I apologized and explained that I have a service dog. The host ghosted me and then reported me to turo where turo sent me a $300 "cleaning" invoice. I tried to dispute the charge with turo and was.told I should have rented a "pet friendly" vehicle and turo does not discriminate against service animals. I have never had any issue until this most recent rental. I reported the issue to the ADA.
