I placed an order and the website let me us a PO BOX. This is the only way to get mail where I live. There is no way I could know Ulta would ship with UPS. Ulta can't change the shipper and can't have UPS transfer the package to USPS to finish the shipping either. The customer service representative said they can't ship the package due to an ingredient... but they are the ones selling the item and making it available to be shipped. The only thing they can do is refund me the money. I have no confidence that will work correctly. Ulta should have their website be able to tell you if they can accept po boxes or not as a shipping address. Other websites can do this. I am not buying from Ulta again and that includes in store.

I received a gift card this holiday season and when I removed the packaging, a few numbers in the PIN code were scratched off. I figured the card would still be usable and went to the store to purchase a few items but was told the card was unusable without the full PIN — it could not even be scanned or swiped. The cashier told me I could call the customer service line and be issued an e-gift card instead. When I called, however, the representative informed me I couldn't get an e-gift card or refund without a proof of purchase for the gift card. I explained that it was a gift, like most GIFT cards are, and she basically told me someone would email me. I received emails that made me go through the exact same chain of events (sending the card info, informing me I need a proof of purchase, explaining that I don't have a proof of purchase, etc) before the customer service representative finally told me there was nothing to be done. I'm extremely disappointed and upset about this policy and find it so silly that three digits missing for a PIN number means I can't use the card at all. I've used plenty of other gift cards at stores without needing the full PIN. Huge rip-off and I won't be shopping at Ulta again.

This review is for the salons located in Miami, FL. I am not sure how the salon hair services are supposed to work, are they company wide or store dependant? Meaning, does the company dictate which services the salon will offer (haircut, highlights etc) therefore each stylist hired MUST offer said services as lined up by the company? Or do the stylists get to pick and choose which services they feel like offering? Based on my experience in all of the Miami, FL locations, I'm leaning towards the second option. The general issue seems to lie with Kids Haircuts. Althought it is advertised in most/all the stores in the area, it is non-existent. For most stores, the kids haircut is advertised and at least one stylist is listed for said service. However, when trying to book the date/time, there is never availability FOR AS FAR ALONG AS THE BOOKING CALENDAR ALLOWS. And no, this isn't a "you must have been unlucky and they were probably fully booked that time " situation. Within the course of one whole year, I attempted to book several times, at different times/months of the year, each time attempting different locations. The result was the same across : a sylist might be listed under the service, but no dates available AT ALL. Once, out of all the failed attempts, I was able to book an appointment with a stylist at the Kendall location. Within an hour of my booking, I received a text message stating the appointment had been canceled and a a phone call AFTER claiming there had been a double booking and the time was not actually available, and I was advised to book online for a different day. I went ahead and did just that (within an hour of previous booking), except now there were no stylists at all available for the Kids Haircut service at that same location for the foreseeable future. So an hour before the service was offered. Now it wasn't... Fast forward to now. I recently reconnected with an old high school friend. While catching up, I learned she had gone to beauty school and became a hairstylist. She mentioned she had worked at Ulta (three different locations throughout the city) before opening her own business. I mentioned the issue I had encountered and her inmediate response was "Oh yeah, they don't like doing kids haircuts because they don't make money of it". She proceeded to explain how the company prices kids haircuts at $25 (the industry standard in the area) and how none stylists like to work for that little money. So what they "all would do" she said, was remove themselves from the service (Kids Haircut), and if by any chance someone got to book before they remove their names, they would cancel the appointment using any excuse, then remove their names and/or availability. She wasnt sure if this was "technically allowed" but again " we all did it this way in every store I worked ".... Needless to say I stopped my attempts to book services with them, especially knowing how unmotivated they are, which would surely affect the quality of the service. But I still wonder if this is "technically allowed" (stylist can freely pick and choose which services to offer) or if the company dictates which services MUST be offered nationwide and these stylists down in Miami are breaching company's rules.

DO NOT ever buy a gift for someone at Ulta. I was given a gift WITH a gift receipt evidencing the person paid cash. I went to return the item and was instructed to enter my phone number. I was further advised that was required. Not only did i have to enter my number, points were deducted from my account. I am at a loss to understand when I handed them a receipt stating the person paid cash or all that would’ve been required was here’s your money back. You do not need any information from me when I call customer service to inquire all I was told was a store policy, but not given a reason as to why

I placed an order in mid-December to get it for Christmas as advertised on the website. My expected delivery date was December 18th. It’s now Christmas Day, exactly 1 week later, and I haven’t received anything. Stick with Sephora.

ULTA My wife bought two gift cards last week. $125 and $150. When she got home she realized that she made a mistake....the $150 card was supposed to be $100. Within 2 hours she went back to the store to get the mistake fixed. They wouldn't do it. I called their corporate office and spent an hour on hold (staying on for principle now) ....and they said they would have the store call me. They never did. ULTA SUCKS....THERE ARE OTHER PLACES OUT THERE!

The customer service employed by this company is horrendous. Spent 25 minutes on a "chat" for an item that wasn't in the box when they claimed it was and then another 15 minutes on the phone all without getting the issue resolved. The excessively giant boxes used for one small item with no pillow packaging or bubble wrap is absolutely ridiculous. Sephora is amazing in comparison. Ulta.com and the ulta app are just a joke.

Worst company EVER! I placed an order for $70 to get the free gift, I did not realize I had to add it to my cart and called customer service within 5 minutes after placing. The rep told me I had an hour to cancel my order and he would help me. Then continued to say that he actually could not cancel because it had been shipped( shipped within 10 minutes mins you) he said I could refuse delivery and wait a week or two to be refunded. I then placed the EXACT same order and added the free gift minutes after talking to him and him not helping me AT ALL! Martin was his name. I then received my first order in the mail and returned it all to the store since my second order should have been right behind it! A week has passed and they have my package saying “label created “, I called customer service and she tells me it’s shipped and lost. They can not give me the free gift worth $70 because they have none now, but she gives me a $15 gift card. I spent that driving 45 minutes each way for gas to return the order he would not cancel. Now some of the items are also out of stock that I initially purchased. That’s all they could do. I said the free gift is worth way more than $15. I will NEVER EVER Astro foot in an ulta again. Do not buy from here unless you want to be taken advantage of! Sephora forever!

I recently visited Ulta Beauty at 25 Hazard Ave, Enfield Ct. and had an unpleasant experience with the customer service. I was shopping till the closing time, since I wasn't aware that they were closing early tonight and while I understand the staff may have been ready to end their shift, the employee I interacted with was rude, unfriendly, and clearly upset that I was the last customer. She was so much rude that she didn't even talk properly on a Thanksgiving eve either to me or my daughter. When I asked for assistance (for price check at the counter), she responded in a curt and dismissive tone, making me feel like I was a burden rather than a valued customer. Her attitude and lack of willingness to help were unprofessional and made the entire experience uncomfortable and I literally felt terrible. I understand that everyone has long days, but customers deserve respect and support regardless of the time. I recommend that the staff receive training on maintaining professionalism and a welcoming demeanor, even during closing hours. This experience was extremely disappointing for me and my daughter, and I hope Ulta Beauty takes steps to ensure future visits are more positive. I've had better experiences at other locations and hope to see improvements here. Though I don't wish to mention more of the employee details on this platform but would request Ulta beauty to please take necessary steps to ensure that no such instance would happen in the future.

I am a loyal customer with Ulta in Kissimmee and the one located in The Loop, Store 335 and I just wanted to say the customer service there is the absolute worst I have ever experienced!!! No one offers help the team just chats with each other and the manager on duty was rude and offered no service !!! The manager just walked around the store and never once did I see her or her or her team offer anyone assistance! But they are quick to tell you not to touch there products and if you do then you need to buy ! Which is ridiculous when regardless you buy and return !! They need a class on how what “great selling strategies” are if they want to keep working !!

***DO NOT OPEN AN ULTA CREDIT CARD.*** I was approved for the Ulta MasterCard. I usually do not open store cards but they offered a savings of $40 and I agreed. About 30 days later the statement arrived but was apparently delayed and arrived after the due date. I went online and paid the bill in full immediately. Also messaged their online chat so they were aware of what happened. Fast forward 2 months and I receive a call saying my statement is past due. I said no, it was paid in full. Come to find out they changed a late fee and a second late fee on a late fee and interest. I asked why I hadn't received a statement and she said I enrolled in online statements. I said that I hadn't and this is exactly why, if I don't see a bill, I don't know a payment is due. So I had to call the credit card customer service and they were only willing to give me a partial credit for $15 (only half of one of the late fees.) on a balance of $63 of fees. I have never been treated like this. Late fees on top of late fees, is that even legal? So then I said I wouldn't pay the fees and they said an additional late fee will be charged every month with interest on the balance. Then I said cancel the card, she said if it cancelled the $15 credit they did give me would be reversed and if not paid I would have additional charges. What the what??? Do not open an Ulta credit card. Comenity is not a reputable company. I will never shop at Ulta again!!,😠😠😠

Hi, my name is Michelle and I went to Ulta about 8 months ago give or take and bought your concealer after my daughter told me to try this product. I get it home and didn’t try it for about 6 months but then started . I do like the concealer but noticed after a month the bottle broke at the neck but I didn’t care that much I just kept it up right but then after about another month I was getting sparkles from the paint on the bottle on my face it was very annoying. I spent 29.00 for the concealer which is way more than I ever spent for any concealer before I thought if I return it to Ulta they would exchange it for me. They said they couldn’t as it seemed empty, which it wasn’t and held it upside down and poured some of the content on their key board. The manager looked at me like I was white trash and said “ sorry no”. I had boughten it on my Ulta card as it tracks my purchases so they could track that I bought it from them. They said they couldn’t help me at all. I asked them for your business number and the manager reluctantly looked it up for me. This product packaging is awful and you should know it. I can’t wrap my brain around how much money I spent for a product that can’t spend enough money for a good container. I will send you some photos Thank you for your time Michelle

I went to the St. Peter’s, MO store yesterday and I witnessed how an employee was poorly managed in front of me. I work in the HR/TA field and I’d have never allowed this manager treating the employee this way. Bad image for the store and for the company.

This review is of a stylist at the Old Spanish Trail location of Ulta Beauty in Tucson, AZ. I brought a picture to the stylist, who claimed her mother wore the same style her whole life. Anyway, the top of the hair was supposed to be long, down to the chin, with side bangs that could be pushed behind the ears. Then there was another short layer that barely went to the bottom of the neck. When my haircut was done, it was very short on the top, barely reaching an inch and a half in most places, especially the crown! The bottom portion of my hair went to my shoulders giving me a very ugly "mullet" style. This all from a stylist who claimed to have 28 years experience. I was so angry once I was home and washed my hair and realized what a horrible cut I received. I paid premium price for a good stylist, only to have received much better cuts at Supercuts. Of course, I immediately went online and cancelled the 6 weeks trim that I had already scheduled. It will take me a couple of years for my hair to grow out so I can finally get the damage totally repaired. It makes me want to never get another haircut once this mess is fixed!
