“It would seem looking at my invoice, I have purchased 13 issues for £28 which is more than £2 per issue. The magazine from Morrison’s is 75p. Not good value for money and I won’t be buying a further 3 months”
Hi Nigel, thank you for your review. I can confirm that in the shops this would appear a lot cheaper for a singular issue. However, as this is purchased online and will be delivered to your home - there is an increase in price. This is to cover 1st class postage for 3 months. “I waited three and a half weeks to receive my issue of Focus which was ordered on 11/2/21. I did not bother to read beyond the editorial on page 1. Thinking (misguidedly) FOCUS to be a compact version of Der Spiegel, I toyed with the idea of taking out a subscription. However, I have no interest in reading such bigoted ideas about Socialism as expressed by the FOCUS editor. His magazine now resides in the 'Papierkorb'. I shall use it for firelighters.”

“I recently took out a subscription to Country Living Modern Rustic at a cost of £30.80. This equates to £15.40 per issue. There are only 2 issues a year and I can buy them singly from Hearst at a cost of £12.99 including postage, which is the cover price in the shop. Therefore, I won’t be renewing my subscription as ,in my opinion, it should be cheaper than shop cover price. I feel a bit cheated.”

Our prices are worked out manually by a colleague in which we must consider; the cover price of the magazine, the weight of the magazine, as well as the postage and packaging. The price may be cheaper through hearst, as they actually publish the magazine, meaning they can offer it for a significantly lower price. “Having signed up to 12 copies and paid in advance I’m upset that I haven’t received anything in 3 weeks. Only compensation was for an extra copy to be added on at the end of my 12 issues and the onus is on Brexit! Sorry not good enough an excuse for me. Hi Anna, thank you for your review. Unfortunately no issues of this are coming into the UK unless a company is working directly with the publisher. This is completely out of our control and is due to Brexit - we are having problems with all our international magazines. “I was charged twice for the magazine as the operated said that my card had not gone through. Checking with my bank it had. How come then after contacting again it took days for the refund to come through but only seconds for you to receive it?”

“Started my subscription in January for a weekly TV magazine. Emails state the magazine is despatched on a Tuesday, but, for the second time in a month, it still has not arrived by Friday. I want it for the weekend viewing - otherwise it's not worth having.
One week it didn't arrive at all (subscription has been extended).
I accept it could be Royal Mail at fault. Would first class post solve this problem? Very disappointed to date.”

“I live in Denmark and have bought a subscription a month ago, and have not received anything yet. I know you have corona-troubles, but the funny things is, I have bought several other things from the UK in the meantime that arrived without delay, so I have no understanding of why you can't get things here faster.

“Unfortunately my experience has not been a good one.
I ordered three months supply of Artists Magazine, a US publication.
Month 1: I received a copy of Artists Magazine
Month 2: I received a copy of The Artist [a UK publication}
I phoned Unique and explained I had received the wrong title, and that I did not like The Artist magazine.
Month 3: - Guess what ! Unique have again sent me the wrong magazine.
Life is difficult at the moment for everyone. But I paid for something that I am not getting. My husband and myself are vulnerable to coronavirus and rely on home delivery of everything we need.
I can’t face phoning Unique again and having to explain it all over again.”
