“Bought Vax platinum power max and after 6 or 7 uses acrid smoke from motor. It’s under warranty but you have to box up and may pay for shipping and repair if they deem it’s your fault. Not worth it I have totally lost confidence in the product. Not fit for purpose in my opinion.”
“I have a vacum/shampoo carpet cleaner. It needs a replacement solution hose which cannot be bought. I have a steam grime master which the lid to fill the water tank cannot be removed. The customer service is atrocious and do not care one bit about their customers. This has got to be one of the biggest scams on the planet. They are a disgrace. I do not understand how they can get away with it.”
“The vax glide is not fit for purpose and at £250 it should be. After about five uses it started leaving dirty water on the floor and was not drying as it should. After several emails to and fro Vax decided it needed a new filter. It works without the filter which is what I shall do until I use up the extortionately priced detergent and dispose of the machine.”
“I have a serious operational problem with my Vax vacuum cleaner. I contacted the company as instructed by the retailer argos. Vax requested the model number and serial number. I provided these details. Vax then asked about the fault. I emailed them with the information. I've heard nothing more from them, despite emailing them for an update upon several occasions, still no reply. :-(( Not good customer service on returns, only when taking your money!”
“Vax Platinum up in smoke.
Bought a Vax Platinum carpet cleaner. On the 2nd use, smoke came out of the main body. Contacted customer services, as the unit has a 6 year warranty. But told, as I had not registered in time (first 3 months) I don't have this Warranty. As I was 4 months over the first year, they refused to help in any way. Very disappointed. I now have a big piece of plastic used only twice!”
“Airlift model 7 months old. Bought in Argos with extra cover. Smelt of burning. Argos won't replace if less than 12 months old. Asked to return to vax. Item came back to me from vax 'nothing wrong with it' then it blew up, sparked and turned off house power. Vax again sending label but lost in post. Plus find your own box to return in. Ask the supermarket for a box big enough for a vacuum I was told. Haven't vacuumed house for 2 weeks already 🤮 very unhappy!!!”
“I bought a Vax Blade 2 max in December 2019. At £199 it was not cheap. After 16 months of very light use (2 bedroom carpets vacuumed once a week and all hair etc removed from the brush after every use) it has broken! A lot of noise and a burning smell came from the floorhead, then lots of tiny ball bearings fell out of it. On opening it up it is clearly engineered very poorly, so poorly in fact that I would suggest it is designed to fail prematurely. So I contact Vax to claim on my 3 year warranty, only to be told that “functional parts that suffer premature failure after 12 months are not covered” but I can buy a new head for just £24.99. Needless to say I will never in my life buy another Vax product and its back to Dyson for me.”
“Rang about Vax blade 2 40v told that the warranty only covered the motor so the failing battery , faulty motor suction brush and broken dust door were out of warranty after 16 months.
Very unhelpful and disappointing”
“I bought a cordless vax vacuum a bit less than a year ago. It still has power when on, but as soon as I turn it off, all the dust comes back down on the floor! I spoke to customer service, they looked at it and sent it back saying it is sucking fine, which is not the point really, as described above. I wrote to them again to explain, they are just ignoring me now.
Not worth the money at all, and poor customer service.”
“Bought a 32V Blade Vacuum in May 2018. By April 2020 the brushbar failed. But the Warranty is only 12 months. So had to buy a replacement brushbar (not cheap!). Less than 10 months later that has failed as well. Now I and told that the Warranty on replacement parts is only 6 months! So I am expected to buy yet ANOTHER brush bar. There are no bags to buy with this machine, but brushbars seem to be treated as consumables! Also the extension tube clip is also broken. The build quality is shocking, the warranty laughable and the Customer Service non-existent. AVOID”
“Wishing I had read these reviews about customer service before buying a Vax cleaner. Struggled with battery for a while, it never really lasted the length of time for cleaning, stated in the info. Battery has now died and no one answers e-mails or calls. Even got cut off during a call. Guessing an expensive battery will now not be replaced by this company. Poor service, useless carpet cleaner. From reading the reviews I feel some kind of regulator needs to look at this Company. RIP off.”
“I contacted vax about my blade 3 pet as the battery lasted about 3 minutes after an hour chat on messenger as the customer service number not working, the advisor said it should last for 6 minutes but Daniel the advisor was just not listening to me absolute terrible customer service 🙄”
“Just received cordless Bade 3 less than a week ago ordered online, the battery is supposed to last 40 minutes which would be o/k in my small bungalow lasted 20 minutes, less the second time, trying to return it "customer services" won't accept my invoice number, emailed, have yet to get a reply as to where to send it, gave ALL the relevant info........”
“I ordered a bundle of 3 items only received 1 and can not get hold of anyone to try and sort this out! so £429 out of pocket and one expensive carpet cleaner! i wish i had seen this page before i placed the order! sounds like it is going to be rubbish anyway! I haven't opened so might just return the 1 item and get a refund.”
“I would give them-5 stars if I could. Bought a platinum power max which is now only 4 months old the spin bar stopped working 5 weeks of having it the belt was smoking and then snapped. Had it fixed by vax issue was not down to maintenance so no charge of £40 it has broken again after 3 weeks of having it and I've asked for a full refund as the product tends to break not fit for sale or dodgy batch maybe but the poor level of customer service was horrendous”
“Bought less than 6 months ago but over the last few weeks had started to notice that the battery life was less than it should be
I have a one bedroom flat and the Vax was capable of doing the whole flat including stairwell before needing a recharge, but now the battery needs to be recharged after only doing the front room.
A full charge shows 4 bars but when going to use it it is only showing 3 bars or less,
Vax insist it is not a problem with the battery and are saying the whole machine needs to be returned for repair
God this is less than 6 months old snd already it has a fault.
I and my wife are both shielding due to our health and the governments lockdown and we do not have the original packaging to return the machine and cannot go out and get any packaging
As this is a battery problem why can they not send a replacement battery and collect the faulty one at the same time”
“Absolute disgrace of a company. Sell a machine with a 3 year warranty. Machine died after a year and 6 months and they will not honour. Absolute junk of a vacuum cleaner anyhow. Then they had the front to try and sell me another cleaner! I used to rate VAX. I dont any more.”
“Bought a VAX onepwr floor cleaner earlier this year. The filter blocks quickly and although they suggest you replace them every year you cannot buy them direct from VAX. Next problem was the spindle jammed and will not turn the brush bar. After a week VAX suggest I return item they will send instructions. Have to box the machine yourself, then phone UPS to arrange a pick up time. Wait time on the 0345 number to UPS is approx 15 minutes and that’s after spending 5 minutes getting to that point. For the price of the item get a mop and bucket, far easier and cheaper and a lot less hassle”
